Attached to Cadillac of Portland is Lithia Body and Paint of Portland… DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE.
Lithia Body and Paint:
— Missed an obvious part of the repair that would be caught by any competent body shop
— «Repaired» a fracture by dolloping some paint on top of it
— Lost my $ 200 key fob
— Made it my responsibility to replace the key fob
— Did not pay out the correct reimbursement to replace the key fob and refused to cut an additional check for the remaining amount
— Was antagonistic, patronizing, and unprofessional when I requested they pay what was owed to me for replacing the key they lost.
— Did not care about taking any responsibility for their errors
Geico sent me here and oh how I wish I would have invoked my right as an Oregonian to choose another shop. I had to make 5 trips here during the «repair». The vehicle has professional racing stripes which had to be replaced. The first replacement was botched (not Lithia’s fault, they contracted out for that service) and I had to pick up my vehicle while they waited for the new stripe to arrive (trip #2). When picking the vehicle up the first time, I discovered a fracture that had not been repaired. The manager, Jeff, said the shop must have missed it and ensured it would be repaired when we brought back the car to have the stripe applied. After bringing my car back for the second time (trip #3), Lithia called a couple days later to inform me they had lost my +$ 200 key fob and I would have to bring them my spare (trip #4). Lithia told me they would pay for the replacement key but it would be my responsibility to get the quote, order it, pick it up, etc… After calling my dealership, I informed Lithia which dealership I had spoken with and the price they quoted me for a replacement. Lithia failed to follow up with the correct dealership and cut me a check for $ 6 less than what I was quoted because the dealership Lithia contacted had quoted them less. I had already ordered the replacement key and had an appointment scheduled with MY dealership so I told Lithia I would still like the $ 6 I was owed for their mistake. They said they would cut the check and mail it. When I finally received my car back (trip #5), the repair of the bumper fracture was EMBARRASSING. It literally looked like someone took a sponge and put a dollop of paint over the fracture. It was lumpy, not blended with the other paint, and, not to mention, the actual issue had not been repaired — just painted over. If this whole process wasn’t so frustrating, their excuse for a «repair» would actually be comical. Finally, the day after receiving my vehicle back, Chris from Lithia called and left the following patronizing and unprofessional voicemail: «Good morning, this is Chris from Lithia Body and Paint Catalog of Portland. Uh, calling regarding the six dollars that you wish to be reimbursed. Spoke with, uh, upper management and it costs us, uh, just, it just doesn’t make sense for us to, you know, cut a check for $ 6 so if you want to stop on by, uh, we’ll give you six dollars out of our personal pocket. Um, we filled up your tank with gas, hopefully taken care of you there, I think we’ve done that. Um, but uh, as far as, you know, cutting a check, sending it out, it just doesn’t make feasible sense for us to do that so come on by, we’ll give you six bucks».
Yes, the amount is only «$ 6 bucks». No, we don’t need the $ 6, and of course it doesn’t make sense for a business to cut and mail a $ 6 check but that isn’t my problem — they should have cut the check for the right amount the first time. Businesses make mistakes, and I completely understand that. My issue is Lithia had no interest in taking responsibility for their mistake and doing what was necessary to make it right. Lithia lost my key, Lithia failed to follow up on the quote I provided, Lithia failed to cut the check for the correct amount. And yet, their answer is to, once again, place the burden of THEIR mistakes on the customer. I would be mortified if my business practices were anything like Lithia’s. Save yourself time, money, and headaches by going anywhere other than Lithia.

I’ve had my last 3 cars serviced here. Always a pleasure never a problem. Love the free shuttle to the mall. Love the free cookies. Would recommend and will do business with them again.

My wife dropped her 2002 Chevy here to be serviced a few weeks back. Her car has a quirk that keeps the ignition from turning completely off until you re-​position the shifter. We have to tell every mechanic that works on her car this, because if the ignition isn’t shut-​off correctly, the interior lights stay on and drain the battery.
They couldn’t manage to follow these simple instructions, and put the final stake into an already beat-​up (but still functioning) battery.
Week later, the car’s check engine light comes on again. We take the car to O’Reilly to get the car diagnosed. Figure I’ll give these guys another shot, and chalk up killing the battery to an oversight — it happens. I reach-​out to the service department through their website, include the three codes, and ask for a quote on what repairs might cost. Don’t hear back from service, but a Cadillac salesmen calls in response to what he thinks is someone interested in buying a new car. My wife or I have never mentioned buying a new car from this dealership.
Talk to the sales guy, give him my email to pass onto service. Get an email from the service department. Send the codes again. Five days and counting, still haven’t gotten a response. Rewind a couple days, I get in touch with another mechanic, took the car in, it’s fixed, and I picked it up two days later.
Sales guy seemed nice enough, but for servicing, would advise avoiding this place.

My family owns 3 Cadillacs & when something needs to be repaired, we always come to Vic’s. The repairs are done right the first time & in a timely manner. If you need to pick up your car after hours, they’re excellent at arranging and accommodating this. I usually wait at the dealership while repairs are being done. I love the warm, fresh cookies & how friendly the staff is. They treat me with the utmost care and respect. They really go out of their way to make your experience pleasant, even if it means changing the channel to Monday Night Football. My family and I will continue bringing our cars here as long as we have them!

Really, no maintenance available on the weekend and no ability to do price quoting or schedule an appointment?

I’ve used other shops in the past for repairs on my 2007 Cadillac Escalade. After every time they worked on it, seemed like the problems either came back or they didn’t replace censors or reset any computer modules. Recently I had a shop work on my drivers wheel bearing and the sensors were not replaced causing several other issues. Finally I decided to bring in the Escalade to the Cadillac dealer and had Debbie help me in the service department. She got me in right away and was done with replacing the censor in about an hour. They had to take apart the whole wheel bearing (pretty much did what the other guys did) but this time they did it the right way and replaced all of the damaged censors. Little did I know that if I had done it right the first time, I would not have had to bring it in for someone else to fix the other shop’s mistakes. Overall great service by Debbie and the cookies in the lounge were awesome!!!

I only got my oil changed her because Lithia owns this dealership. But they still treated me like royalty. Very friendly and thorough!

Brought in my Escalade to have a running board motor replaced. They charged half of what a local Cadillac service shop quoted ($ 500 vs. $ 1000). Great customer service experience all-​around.

I went to this location today to attempt to get a cable so I could play my music from my iphone 5 to my cars speakers. I previously purchased a cable for my iphone 4 since their system cannot stream they a regular phone cable. A year after the iphone came out they still have no cable to connect my iphone and the manager (Marty) I spoke to — after asking 3 people previous, was very rude and condescending to me while not seeming to understand this is a basic issue that is an easy fix. I will definitely never be back to this location and would advise future customers that cadillac does not have any technology available for today’s world.
