I havent ventured around NE Portland much. We stopped by this coffee shop after shopping at the mall in NE. It is a nice little coffee shop. I had the caramel frappé and the vegetarian wrap. Both were good. The caramel frappé was a little too sweet for my taste. I am going to try to explore by NE Portland more often.

One of my favorite spots for a café study/reading session. I’ve also arranged for business meetings here. I like it because it’s just a normal, unassuming spot where you’ll always feel comfortable.(As opposed to the«see and be seen» or hipster or pretentious coffee places, which abound in this town.) People here are just normal folks who come to get a cup o’ joe and chat or people watch. Coffee is nice, servers are friendly. It’s never too bustling when I’ve been in(late afternoon hours). Some highlights: –indoor and outdoor seating –on a side street between 2 main roads –plenty of space, natural light, big windows –vibe is relaxed, friendly, casual, comfortable –jazz usually plays in the background –happy hour w/beer and wine 4−6pm everyday(very limited options, but it’s a nice addition!)

This place is… Not good. The place is always understaffed, to the point that they let other customers go behind the counter to serve other customers… wtf? The coffee is pretty weak, the inside is loud with sports games. The outdoors patio is really nice. That’s the only reason this place gets 2 stars.

I love to bring my laptop to this place and sit for a few hours over a big latte while working. People I know always seem to come in and want to chat for a few minutes. Plus the latte always comes with a free Dove chocolate on the edge of the plate, which I can leisurely put into my coffee, as though I weren’t paying for the calories. This place has wonderful parking behind the building, and there always seems to be a space available no matter what the time of day. I love the diversity of the people who come here. You can frequently see a bunch of African folks watching a soccer game, businessman chatting over documents and people like me just enjoying the sound of chat around us while we do a bit of business. I appreciate that the chairs are comfortable, The coffee is delicious, and the food not bad at all. There is a sense of privacy and congeniality which combine to make this the perfect place to sit and get some work done.

Simply the best cappuccino in town! They nail it every time… not too bitter, not scorched, just a heavenly mix of dairy and espresso. This is truly a neighborhood place. The shop is rarely busy except for soccer game evenings. This review would be five stars, but the service is a tad slow some weekends

Great little spot to grab a drink, maybe a dessert or one of their growing selection of staple foods, then sit back and work, read, or chat. It’s usually not ‘quiet’, not is it by any means loud. The staff has never been particularly friendly, just sort of detached. But they make good drinks and keep the place clean, so I can overlook the cold interactions. I do wish it were a little more clear what to do with dishes when you’re done. I’ve watched lots of people play the ‘sit and wait for someone else to leave’ game(and also done it myself my first few visits). Either way, it’s a nice local spot with a a few extras that most cafés don’t have, namely a few beers and some wine. If you are in the neighborhood and need a place to work/chat/sit, this is a great place to do it — just don’t expect a smile(though maybe you’ll get lucky and that will be provided, too).

I’m rather disappointed with attention to detail here. I ordered my coffee and then sat down while waiting for my bagel where I asked for four items, cheese, egg, bacon, and tomato. I sat there waiting for sometime when the barista told me she had set the bagel on the other side of the counter… So I got up and grabbed it myself(weird she put it on the opposite side I was sitting on but whatever.) Then when I got to the office to eat my bagel there was only cheese and egg. Between she and I it was repeated at least four times what I wanted. I just waited $ 4 that’s for sure. Coffee is OK but not great.

Cute little café near my gym. I stopped there to get coffee and a snack. I shared the Italian sandwich with my friend. It was quite tasty. Coffee was good; the chocolate on the side is the nice touch. Grand central bakery closed as of 10⁄1 but this café sells some their baked goods. The décor is nice and cozy. Staff was nice

The décor is nice with a very good outdoor seating. The americanos are good and the lattes rather aesthetically pleasing. Each coffee comes with a chocolate, which was a waste since I’ve given up candy for the year. I had a lemon poppy scone that was good but not great. We’ve come back for happy hour and $ 2 wine. If I lived by here it would be a regular spot.

Seriously… have some class. Just witnessed the two baristas get in a yelling match with each other over an incorrect order. Both were dropping f bombs loud enough for the whole place to hear… classless.

I would highly recommend Café D’arte. It is pleasant enough. I would like to go on about how massive a bear claw pastry is. It is massive, tasty, and cheap. This place is a small area off of NE15th. It’s very hard to miss. I’ve had a mocha and a hippie muffin. All of the things that the place sells are cheap. There are television sets for anyone interested in the sports. If you are looking for cheap eats and coffee, a pleasant place to loiter for a time, and then off to somewhere — I would recommend this place.

Caffe D’Arte is a reverse coffee invasion of Portland from Seattle. People grew native plant beans. Ethiopians roasted. Turkey and Europe discovered. NY, Chicago, SF inherited. Portland learned, from a little Pike Place Market roaster. Portland roaster invaded Seattle. Now Seattle reinvades Portland. And they do a fine job. Caffe D’Arte is a retail outlet and an opportunity to taste beans roasted in Seattle seeking expansion markets for their brand. Star son of buck? They serve their own blends, roasted, as opposed to the varietal, direct grower approach. But their tasting notes are accurate. And if you want to expand, blends are required. Tasting notes are a soon to be required addition. The staff is stellar, they are customer-oriented and enthusiastic. WiFi, check. Presentation is in the top 1% in the Portland area. Espresso shots, full shots, include a glass of clear water and a chocolate. And you won’t encounter agency types here critiquing whether your blacks match. Coffee, our get it going — keep it going, experience of choice, has many dimensions. If taste as described, very, very reasonable price, presentation, quietude, quality, staffing, free parking within in a few blocks, interweb, are your goal dimensions, suggest Caffe D’Arte.

They for sure know how to make a good cappuccino or a great espresso, and in the morning it’s all I personally care about. Place is very clean, but aesthetic is very bad. It doesn’t have any personality. Pastries selection is embarrassingly limited, but the croissant they usually have is really good. Service is reasonably nice, people don’t look so happy, but they do their job and that’s it. No wi-fi, they will suggest you to hookup the signal from the business in front, and it works! Recommended if your coffee and your croissant it all you care about, as I do

Heckuva place for cappuccino, one of the few places that can pull off latte art in skim milk foam. Good decaf cappuccino as well(which is what I had today). Always happy with my drinks here and I love the little bit of chocolate they give you with each cup. Friendly service as well, what’s not to like? Recommended.

So I am not a coffee connoisseur like I am a chocolate connoisseur, but I know what I like, I like what I want, and what I want is Caffe D’Arte coffee. It’s not just the quality of the coffee alone, though that’s enough reason to make a trip to this convenient location with easy parking. The grilled Panini sandwich salad combos are delicious with varieties to choose from. The baked goods are fresh and tasty. They also offer beer and wine which you can’t say about Starbucks… among other things! Happy hour is also offered. I am all about atmosphere & I would describe this coffee shop as fun & uplifting with some friendly employees. Lots of sunlight, big windows and bright, just how I like it, super cute place. Another reviewer mentioned it was a West LA feel. Hmmm… maybe another reason why I like it so much! Outdoor seating is a big reason why I may choose one place over another in the summer, and here you have this side patio with greenery all around. You take these little stairs to get there because it’s above ground level — super cool. If you need shade, you have covering under the big sun umbrellas. If you want sun, you can sit in the sun. You simply can’t go wrong here.

This café is a great place to sit at an outside table on a nice day & watch the world go by. My americano was tasty & served up quickly, no complaints there. Loses a star for the cloud of flies in entryway.

Interior: way too West LA for me. If you don’t know what I mean, think 1989 yuppie style. White shiny floors with ultra modern chairs to sit in. It’s definitely not a cozy coffee shop to sit and read. You might want to dance with Beetle Juice mid air to some shake shake shake señora Coffee: Yowzas it’s got bite. I love their espresso because of how bold it is. They also offer some nice Italian sodas too. Service: No complaints! My food took a little while but there was only one person manning the counter, so I understood and waited patiently. I enjoyed my inexpensive breakfast bagel that came with egg, cheese, choice of meat, with tomato and spinach. Not too bad! The outside patio deck is great in summer.

Let me start off by saying that I work at a Starbucks… Inside a Safeway. So naturally on my days off I’m itching for an experience that’s a little more… refined. I gotta say I’ve walked past Caffe D’Arte a billion times without going in because the décor is a tad horrendous. I mean… That font does them no favors, and even though it’s never literally messy or dirty inside, there’s a certain clunkiness to the interior, a feeling that their massive menu contributes to, as well. But I’m all about the foodventures, and the first time my friend and I decided to give it a shot we never looked back. Every time I try something new and it’s even better than the last drink I had. My current favorite? Their caramel sauce latte. If I ordered this at a Starbucks it would be an overly sweet candy-bar-in-a-cup with a barely identifiable taste of coffee. But D’Arte puts two shots in every cup, so my 8 oz. was full of creamy sweet foam and that coffee punch at the end. When I was done, I felt good — not sick to my stomach and full of sugar. And can we talk about the chocolates they give you with every«for here» order? So awesome. You know that saying never judge a book by its cover? Well, I will now, from here on out, never again judge a café by its typography. :)

I’ve walked by this place many times while usually venturing to other spots in the Lloyd Center area. I decided to give this place a try when I noticed they had happy hour 4 – 6 Mon-Fri and 3 – 5 on Sundays. They have some pretty good deals such as buy 1 Mio Gilato and get 1 free. Free coffee too if you buy a cookie or pastry. Panini sandwiches are only only $ 4 with a $ 1 extra for soup or salad. That sold me so I had the chicken pesto panini with a side sald. The ladies behind the counter were friendly and polite. Even after I noticed water could be self served, the barista kindly gave me a pint glass after I placed my order. The free wi-fi was definitely a bonus so caught up on my emails and a few minutes later my panini and salad arrived in a fancy plate. The salad comes with spinach leaves, freshly grated parmesan cheese, sun dried tomatoes, and greek olives with a vinegarette on the side. After devouring the salad, I tackled on the sandwich. Plenty of garlic cloves were poppin out of my sandwich and the cheese was perfectly melted. The meal itself filled me up just right with plenty of chicken layered in between. The place itself is pretty good size and doesn’t feel cramped. They do sell gift cards and if you spend $ 25, they give ya an additional $ 5. The café wasn’t too crowded during happy hour and I didn’t feel rushed to leave either. I see another visit for happy hour definitely in my future.
