The pictures and the décor did it justice but sadly I walked all the way here from the other side of the city and it was closed. Not fun. It was 847 and they claim to open at 8

I had about an hour before a meeting nearby, so I decided I wanted to relax a little bit and have a light lunch. Decisions, decisions! As the MAX wheels turned on the track and in my mind, I spied Caffe Nizza, a favorite, and my decision was made for me. After checking out the several interesting menu options, another decision was made for me: tomato soup! Done and done. And an Americano. I picked my items up at the counter and settled by the front window and enjoyed the welcoming décor. Classical music playing quietly in the background capped everything off. My soup was delicious, and the Americano finished off the perfect light lunch. About this time, the sky opened up, and the very nice counter server person came in and we had a front-row seat to some crazy rain(even by Portland standards), and we both remarked how the rain looked like the start of some hail only to find out later it really was pretty severe hail in other parts of the city. After that bit of drama, it was time to brave the rain, umbrella overhead, and head off to my meeting. The meeting went very well I have to say because I’d had such a lovely lunch interlude beforehand putting me into the right frame of mind. Well done, Caffe Nizza, all around!

I have come here several times just for drinks so I can’t say how the food is, but what has really impressed me about Café Nizza is the service. All three times I have been made to feel like I’m the only person in the place, even when it’s super crowded before a game.

The worst coffee experience I’ve ever had in Portland. Watered down coffee not prepared as it was ordered, served by a snarly barista with a superiority complex. Pastries that tasted and felt several days old, all served in a place that smells like unwashed gym socks. Don’t bother.

I wandered in here recently while killing time before an event at the MAC around the corner. It was a rainy day, and I walked in and immediately felt at home. It was about 10:30AM and my wife and I were initially the only customers. We had some delicious cappuccinos and settled down at a table. It’s one of those spots where you don’t really want to leave. The man who served us was from Florence, I’m not sure if he was the owner or not, but he was really nice and talked with us a bit. We also ended up in a conversation with the next customer who came in. It’s that kind of place. I ordered another cappuccino just as an excuse to hang out there longer. Unfortunately I’m rarely in this neck of the woods much, except for Timbers games, before which I’m sure it’s a totally different vibe. When I am nearby I’ll try to stop in though.

Yum yum yum. Delicious cioppino and espresso. Usually closed on Mondays, but the owner saw us looking in and invited us to eat anyways. So thoughtful. Will definitely be returning regularly!

Good place to grab a cup of Joe and hang out and do computer work. It’s right across the street from Jeld Wen field. The owners were very kind and the overall vibe was great.

Outstanding ambiance, cappuccino and wine selection. Free wifi, too. Open late game nights, but closes too early otherwise.

I’ve been trying to go here for a while, but it turns out they’re currently only open on days when there’s a game at the stadium across the street. My lunch schedule finally coincided with such an event, and so I stopped by for a sandwich and soup. Nothing super impressive, but I suspect I’ll have to go back when I’ve got enough time to sit down and have a real meal before I’ll be able to properly feel Nizza out.

Caffe Nizza is an interesting hidden little spot across the street from Jeld Wen field(and coincidentally adjacent to my PT office). It’s got a super homey vibe that’s cozy and comfy in the winter and lets in plenty of light in the summer. I’ve only had tea here(they have a nice selection) and find it a solid spot for posting up in a comfy fire-side seat with a hot cuppa and some fast, free wifi. The prices seem reasonable and they have food, beer, and wine as well. I have yet to try any of those. But my couple of visits for tea and some work-time have me easily in the«Yay! I’m a fan.» category. Come summer they have a couple of sidewalk tables that provide a great spot to sit and watch soak up some sunny day. Don’t blink when you’re walking past or you could miss it. But this is definitely worth a stop pre-game or any time you need a place to post up in the area.

A fantastic European-style café in the Ballpark area west of 405. Nizza is much more personal and cozy than the run-of-the mill café with a homey décor and a bistro-style furnishings.

Today my wife and I travelled from Orenco Station on the MAX today to attend a matinée at the Artist Repertory Theatre(ART). When we exited the train at the PGE stop we noticed Caffee Nizza a short distance from the stop across from PGE Park. After the play we decided to have lunch at the restaurant which is only a short distance from theater. The Caffe is not large but very comfortably decorated and a cozy and pleasant place to dine. The menu had a nice range of very reasonably priced items and also provided wine and beer as well as other beverages typically provided in a coffee shop. We had a light lunch and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the fare. I had a bowl of minestrone which had an excellent stock and was chock full of tasty vegetables. My wife had an Italian sandwich which included some tasty sliced sausage and Italian peppers in a delectable bagette type roll with chips and pickles. The Caffe has a large selection of wines and a number of beers with some special brews from Belgium. We very much enjoyed our visit and will return to check out their breakfast and Happy Hour menus. Caffe Nizza has only been open for about 4 or 5 months and we think they have a bright future.
