Cascade Roofing

Last Fall during a rainstorm, I learned the hard way that it was time to replace my roof. Such a huge daunting proposition. I did my due diligence and got several quotes from various roofing companies. After weighing my options, although they weren’t the least expensive bid, I felt most comfortable going with Cascade Roofing.
Several months later when the day came for the new roof, they had two teams working. This ended up being a good thing as they discovered I had 7 layers of existing roofing that needed to be torn of! While they were at it, we decided to go with all new plywood as well. The whole thing took two days to complete. The team did a great job of cleaning up as they went.
After the team had left, I noticed a couple of things that weren’t quite to my liking, or the agreed upon scope of work. I called and made an appointment to have someone come and take a look. They agreed to the changes and had them completed the next day. This was by far the best demonstration of their pride in their workmanship and reputation. I would, and have, recommend Cascade Roofing to friends!

We were in dire need of a new roof and had several estimates, Cascade Roofing came out and gave us a bid and in comparison with the others it was a bit higher, but they wanted to make sure we weren’t shocked when the final bill came due. We decided to go with Cascade because their estimate was very thorough and they did replace all of the plywood and complete tear off. In the past I have had 2 other houses and the roofs needed replacing as well so I was not completely shocked at the total cost. We had a tile roof that was in bad bad shape with a few leaks in the house which made us cringe every time we heard it rain! Cascade Roofing bumped us up on the schedule because the weather was turning ugly very fast. When the day arrived for the tear off the crew was very efficient and the clean up afterwards was amazing, not a nail or shingle in sight! The crew was so polite from the estimator to the roofers they were all very courteous and very punctual. They were right on schedule with everything, they told us the whole job would be completed in 2 ½ days and they were completely finished in 2 ½ days, when I arrived home, the only way you could tell they had been here was the beautiful new roof! Very pleased with the company and their service, so is my husband because he works with contractors daily and is a stickler for quality!

Houses are notorious for bringing on problem, after problem and then the next problem. Sure I know things fall apart and nothing last forever. If there was one thing that did last forever I wish it was the roof on my house! They are expensive. Over the last decade or so I’ve had number of local Portland roofing companies come to my house to give me bids on what they felt would fix the leaky part of my roof. Honestly I’ve hired a few of them to do roof repair on my flat roof and while their fix worked for a winter or two, eventually their handy work broke down and the leak would come back. They also didn’t provide a guarantee on their work, which in retrospect was a bad idea for me to hire a company that didn’t offer one. I learned from that lesson and last spring I got a few more bids, then pulled the trigger on getting a new roof, but this time from this roofing company that guarantees their work! Winter hasn’t come yet but when it does I feel a lot better knowing that if the leak comes back Cascade will be there to fix it.

We had Cascade come in and remove and haul away our roof on our almost 40 year old home. They replaced some of the damaged plywood sheeting, the felt/​tar paper, the vents and the composition roof tiles. The did it in 1 day, we could hardly believe it. They did such an amazing job! They cleaned everything… leaving no messes or damage. This is the best experience we have ever had with any contractor. We will be referring them to everyone who says they need a roof. If you hire them you will not be disappointed with the quality of work, their professionalism or their customer service.

Cascade did a great job on a winter-​time tear-​off and re-​roof of our 105 year old house in SE Portland.
From sales, to office, to field crews, this company is staffed with pros who focus on getting the job defined, bid, and completed on time and with minimal impact to the homeowner.
I solicited and received bids from (3) contractors for this major roof project. Cascade was not the least expensive, but after talking with them, and understanding their process, it was clear that they were the best. I was not disappointed in this investment, and can strongly endorse them as a quality contractor that does excellent work.

I can’t say enough about the plumes of smoke sent up my gluteal fold from several of the roofing contractors that I met with. Cascade had one of the highest plume factors. From the moment they arrived (I live in a nice area), I knew it was going to be bad. What I was not prepared for was having to request the bid despite being told I would receive it within a few days.
Imagine my shock and disbelief at a bid that was twice the price of all other bids (for the same work). They either didn’t want the work (could’ve been honest and made that clear so as not to waste my time) or they are a complete rip off. You decide.

We knew Cascade from work they had done for the family. They are straight up on what needs fixed and the best way to fix it; everything is very clear in their quotes and they are very personable. A very good crew that behaves like they should — they are at someone’s home and that space needs to be respected!
We aren’t just talking putting on some shingles… we had some ugly issues and they removed sags, installed outlookers and replaced decking to straighten the roofline and remove the wrinkles. They also put on a 16′ x 31′ patio cover with clear Suntuff covering… I highly recommend them for this sort of work. It is absolutely beautiful and they put it all into place in a single shot when they did the roof.
They also pay attention to the little things — cleanup of nails and their garbage after the workday is done, placement of their materials, using proper underlayment near the patio cover, spray painting the chimney flashing and vent stacks to match the roof color. In fact, the owner came back and cleaned a bit of overspray off the bricks for us.
Can’t say enough good things about these guys, a real good bunch.

We solicited 4 bids, 3 of them were competitive. Cascade Roofing’s bid was more than double the others. The assessor seemed more interested in telling me what was wrong with my house than in fixing the roof. If the bid was a way to say «we’re not interested in your business,» then they were successful in that. There are better companies who’ll respect the homeowner, go with one of them.

We got quotes from 4 different roofing companies because we have almost 5000 sf of roof on 4 different levels and knew it was going to be a big job!
Cascades estimator was very informative and helpful. Their quote was already nicely competitive, but they gave us a deal if we would let them do the job during the winter!
It could not have worked out better, they came in during the dry but very cold weather near the end of January. They showed up with a small army, probably 9 guys and had the job done in two days!
I wish Unilocal let you post pictures, because I got a great shot of a big crew on our roof and one guy must be their high point guy, because he was standing on the highest point of the roof! I had to take a picture because he looked JUST like the «Fiddler on the Roof» !
They made sure the driveway and walk ways were clean and clear when they left on the first day and did a nice clean up job when they finished on the second day.
Mike, the Foreman, even went through the crawl spaces and attics to check things inside and out! When the guys found that the vent shafts from our three bathrooms were not as straight as they should have been, they straightened them up, making our fan and ventilation systems more efficient!
If that wasn’t enough, they sent us a thank you card with candy included!

Roofing is never a fun way to spend money, but Cascade made it as pleasant as possible.
When we bought our most recent house, we knew it needed roofing repairs and that the garage needed a brand new roof. So, I got several bids. What a mixed bag! There was the company that said my whole house needed to be re-​roofed at $ 12,000, but never returned my calls. There was the company that never showed up. There was the company that got their bid to us a week late, and when the bid came in, it was missing all the pertinent pages. Then there was the lovely owner-​operated company that we almost used. He said he would fixed the roofing issue on the spot, but didn’t have the parts in his truck. He was great. But, in the end, we chose Cascade.
Here’s why:
–When you call Cascade, you always get a real person on the phone, who knows what’s going on. This was not true for most of the other companies I called.
–Cascade’s estimator spent a good 1 – 2 hours with me, going over possible ideas, and got the bid back to me very quickly.
–The bid was unbelievably clear and detailed. It answered ALL my questions about licensing, insurance, materials, etc.
But the major reason we picked Cascade is that they were the one company that had a complete solution for our complicated garage situation. They were able to do carpentry work (installing soffits) and a torch-​down roof to deal with the low slope.
The tricky thing with Cascade is that they are very popular, which meant that they were booking jobs 6 – 8 weeks out. I was worried about the roof leaking in the meantime, so they sent a foreman out to stabilize the roof for free. Gotta love that!
The job took a couple of days, but by the end of each day, the job site was always tidy, and all of my plants survived intact. The garage looks great, too! We were very pleased.

With all the rain recently our roof sprung a leak. We called a few local roofing companies but these guys came in with the best deal. Their work looks tight (for all I know) and it’s holding up very well!
