CorksCru Wine Merchants

This place is awesome. I try to get here as often as possible. I last visited the location September 5, 2014. I am happy with the expertise that is provided to me when I ask questions about the wine. If you show up at the right time, you can get a wine tasking of a few wines they are trying to sell. I always try to buy on of those showcase wines. I am never disappointed with my time or money spent here.

Super nice and very reasonably priced.
Accessible to all, they offer many bottles $ 20 or less. I’ve had obscure French reds, clean, crisp Rieslings, vibrant Chianti, and so much more recommended here, and enjoyed every pick. They have great wine clubs offering even better pricing on adventurous or collectible bottles and always seem to have some special half case on sale. For me though, what really makes them shine is the selection and excellent recommendations. Whenever I need a quick bottle or 3 and need guidance, this is my go to wine merchant.

Cute little place stocked with Oregon wines and international wines as well. They had a tasting of several wines from around h world and were very helpful with recommendations for dining.

Fantastic place. Run by Dan, who used to operated Square Deal. Fabulous selections of moderately priced wines, most of which you have never heard of. If you are looking for that well-​known name brand… go to Cost Plus and save you time. If you want to try an amazing wine from a small (ish) winery in the worlds best wine growing regions as well as wine conversation that is superb, this is your place. I plan to stop in every time I am in town and if I decide to move back to Portland this will be my go-​to wine shop.

So happy to see Dan back in business. I missed his wine and his sense of humor. He and his fellow wine buff Doogle have never failed to find us great wine to quaff at home. I love being able to walk in and tell them to pack me something up and it’s all good. Even better this shop is closer to home. Great idea to hook up with the professional kitchen as well.

I think Michael Madigan, formerly of Square Deal, had a moment of pure, unadulturated brilliance when he envisioned this place! This is a great concept that I don’t think has been done anywhere else in the nothwest.
We stopped in last night to check it out and we were greated by Doogle, a welcoming chap from Australia who offered to give us a tour of the space. This is a lovely wine shop with an incredible variety of wines attached to KitchenCru, a place to do wine and food dinners or food pairings. What’s not to like about being able to easily combine great food and wine?
They have a HUGE kitchen in the back that can be rented by the hour. I see this place as being the go to spot for people who want to have customized events for wedding parties, corporate dinners, etc.
BTW, I think it is called CorksCru, not Corks Cru.

Stopped in to this new wine merchant shop to check out what exciting new experiences had been brought to The Pearl. I must say I was more than impressed. The shop is run by the owners of Square Deal of NW which has closed and remade itself into something entirely different. The wine merchant shop alone is impressive. Great wines at reasonable prices and a wine club to boot. I tasted a lovely Tempranillo which I just had to buy. Set me back a whopping $ 12.00! Most of the wines in the shop are in that range and they are GOOD!
But wait — that’s not all… they have coupled this place with something called KitchenCru. A completely high end commercial kitchen. Huge! All modern appliances, commercial grade. AS Dan gave us a tour around the facillities little snacks and goodies for us to taste were offered. Yummy stuff.
And again — that’s not all. They have also created several function rooms. So the opportunities here are endless. You can host functions, you can do cooking classes, you can do corporate bonding cooking event, you can have parties. It is lovely.
