Cornerstone Apartments

Tim, the office manager, is a pretty decent guy but don’t bother with any other office staff.
The overlord management and other staff are incompetent and tell tall tales, since December 2014 the building had scaffolding up to replace siding and new windows which would supposedly let more air in, they do not, nor do they at the time of moving out in May have screens — which were supposedly on a truck from Cali weeks ago.
Still the scaffolding is up and an edict of not using A/​C because it messes with the installation process or opening the windows was sent out. Don’t like workers looking into your bedroom because the blinds haven’t been reinstalled? «Put a bed sheet in your window» is what the office staff replied. And that low class comment sums up our rental experience.
Humid producing in unit dryers that have inadequate venting (the whole apartment too), shallow kitchen sinks that don’t allow you to leave a dish in them and use the faucet without splash back, closet doors that come unhinged constantly, the never ending smell of dog urine on the front steps, and ongoing running toilet that never gets fixed– were what made our experience memorable in all the wrong ways.
But if you do want to stay in a building with management that opted to change the façade superficially instead of upgrading the apartments to deal with all the competition from new builds, be sure you aren’t on the backside of the building– unless you enjoy the hum of power stations and the screams of unruly people from the street below all night long.

I lived at The Cornertstone for 18 months and enjoyed it. The units were clean with modern appliances and the floorplans were spacious. When searching for an apartment, my «must haves» included close proximity to the Max line, in-​unit washers & dryers, and covered/​garage parking for my car. The Cornerstone met all those requirements with flying colors!
The management was attentive — although I didnt have many repairs, they were always performed promptly — and as a single female, I felt SAFE there. There were sometimes instances of break-​ins inside the underground garage, but I never had a problem with my vehicle. The area is monitoed by cameras, though.
I would definitely recommend The Cornerstone to anyone looking for a place in the area.

Cool apartment complex, management is super nice, friendly, and very very helpful. Really close to many businesses along with the mall and the max. And the apartments are pretty big, even the studios are nice.
