The products they sell look great and are of good quality. Prices are good as well.

We bought a latex mattress from here. We are super pleased with it and have excellent sleep! No complaints and would recommend. The staff when ordering were really helpful. We ordered the mattress late, and due to our own fault, anticipated a couple nights without a mattress. However, the person who took our order, without asking to, sped our order up and managed to get us our mattress super quick, which meant we didn’t have to sleep on a camp bed!
We are very happy with all aspects of our service (oh and the owner Terri is a lovely lady! We met her at the Green Expo and had a great conversation with her)

If you are looking for quality choice bedding and great consultation, you cannot find a better place — we are so lucky to have this resource in the area. First off, many bedding mattresses in general are treated with fire retardant chemicals — if the idea of soaking this up into your skin concerns you like it did me, go to these guys for options without this — I purchased and 8″ latex mattress with a wool topper — both are hypoallergenic, the wool topper is resistant to dust mites and are already resistant to fire. They sell organic sheets and wool duvets here as well (not to mention other bedding needs such as pillows) — I decided to go on line for sheets initially. I noticed that I was sweating more than usual each night and was worried that the topper or the mattress were the culprit — I worked mainly with Mack at the store who was more than patient with me as I tried to determine the source — turns out it was the sheets and not the bedding. What impressed me most was that Mack was incredibly friendly and helpful in spite of the concern that I may have to return one or both of the items — there was never any blame towards other factors, just an acceptance that the items may not be a good fit for me. These days, getting service like this is the exception rather than the norm. I will recommend anyone looking for new bedding or futons to go here — A+…and don’t forget to avoid microfiber or wrinkle free sheets from other places to reduce the potential of sleeping too hot — many of the anti-​wrinkle sheets are also treated with chemicals in spite of being labeled as hypoallergenic. Cotton Cloud has organic cotton sheets.

After two pretty terrible mattress and pillow buying experiences due to staff negligence, I won’t be returning here again. After replacing my pretty pricey mattress due to an issue that was the fault of their staff, my newest replacement mattress is half as thick, (barely) filled with cheap materials not found in my original mattress and has compressed so much in the past few months that it now sinks between the slats of my bed frame, even after the recommended rotations. My sleep is the worst it has ever been. I feel like I’m sleeping on an inflatable camping mattress with an air leak. The biggest joke is that I had to pay for additional materials when it was their fault to begin with. I really feel like I was taken out for a ride because I wasn’t some rich old person. I wish they cared less about their internet presence and more about their customers comfort and the quality of their products.

Terrible. I had to wait longer than expected for my futon frame to come in and then keep revisiting the store because I was missing a piece and a piece was defective and then wait even longer because they didn’t have the piece to put my futon together. Needless to say, I will never buy from them again or recommend them.

I’ve been in Cotton Cloud twice now and have had a great experience both times. The first time, a nice woman helped me with futons. I was trying to decide about buying one for a spare bed for my basement. She was very patient with me and knowledgeable about their products. Ultimately, I didn’t buy one, but the customer service was excellent. Today, I went in looking for a high quality pillow to help my tweaky neck and it ended up being like an episode straight out of Portlandia. The pillow I liked best was filled with millet and wool but as an ethical vegan, I don’t buy/​use wool. When I mentioned this to the salesman, he immediately checked with the owner about the sustainability and humaneness of the local wool farm they source from. He returned to say that they were only wooling sheep and not slaughtering sheep and that they are pasture raised. He also mentioned that the owner cares a great deal about the ethics of their products. The salesman was very patient as I sprawled out on the beds with the test pillows in my various weird sleeping positions. I opted for the shredded latex pillow made from tree sap and an all millet pillow because I just didn’t want to do the wool, but it’s nice they have lots of great options! Hopefully one of the two pillows I bought will be the magic solution for my aching neck.
Updated to add that I never heard from them about picking up the millet pillow from my order after a couple weeks so I finally called to see if it was in and they said it was. They claimed they had left me a voicemail, but when I went into the store, it turned out that they had entered my phone number in the computer off by one number. When I went to pick up the pillow, I double checked the label and they had given me one that had wool. Turns out that the salesman had ordered the wrong pillow in addition to inputting my phone number incorrectly. So they had to reorder a different pillow and I had to pay $ 5 more. Plus I had to drive there a third time when the the correct pillow finally arrived, which ended up not being great at all. The latex pillow also ended up changing and not being comfortable to sleep on all night, even though it had seemed good in the store. So it was expensive, inconvenient, and didn’t help my neck at all.

Over the last 15 years I’ve placed three orders with Cotton Cloud, and each experience has been increasingly less pleasant.
There were multiple problems with the last two orders, but in the most recent case, they completely indifferent to resolving billing problems until I enlisted the help of my credit card issuer.
My last two orders involved a combination of:
1) Not placing the order despite charging my CC
2) Double charging my CC
3) Delivering the item to the wrong address
4) Delivering the item two months later than originally promised
5) Requing repeated store visits and phone calls to correct issues that were wholly their fault
I prefer shopping local, but I also prefer to do business with places that «care deeply about their customers» before they get a negative review on Unilocal

I bought a organic wool mattress topper at Cotton Cloud and I love, love, love the quality of the topper. Price was right too. Thank you Cotton Cloud for making these products available and local too!!!
I also bought a couch that I picked out in the showroom that was delivered to my home. When they brought it in I didn’t like it and the Cotton Cloud staff took the couch back and I went to the store and picked a different couch. They bent over backwards to make sure i was happy with my purchase!

Got a futon mattress to use for my bed frame — loving it so far :) planning to get one more for my futon as well.

I originally bought a futon and frame from Cotton Cloud in 2005. I was sufficiently happy with their service and the quality of the furniture to return to them a couple weeks ago, nearly ten years later. This time, we were buying another new frame and mattress as well as a replacement mattress for the frame I bought in ’05. That frame is still going strong, btw. The only reason we needed to replace that mattress was because at that time all I could afford was the most basic futon, and they aren’t meant for heavy use over several years. So, we were ready for an upgrade.
From start to finish, our experience with Cotton Cloud was easy, quick, and professional. Judy helped get us started when we came in, and she did a great job helping us try out the different kinds of couch mattress to see what we would like. We decided on the Lovejoy, which so far I highly recommend. It is extrememly comfortable, and because it contains wool, it is nice and warm. Because we use our futons daily as couches and as occasional pull-​out beds for guests, this was the ideal mattress for us.
We are also very happy with our new frame. Their furniture is durable, beautiful, and easy to adjust from couch to bed.
For an extra charge of $ 65, they will deliver and assemble the futon. I HIGHLY recommend this. The men they sent were quick about it. It would have taken us hours to do what they did in about 20 minutes. They were also very nice, and showed us how to adjust the futon.
All in all, my experience with Cotton Cloud has been great. We will be returning to them in a few months for the matching chair/​ottoman to our couch. I recommend them!

I’ve got nothing but the utmost praise to give for this company. They make you feel comfortable and not just $$$$dollar signs$$$$ when they see you. We were given information, guidance and the space to shop. The sales team was great as were the delivery drivers who also put our bed together. We got a frame and a latex mattress and couldn’t be happier with it. Thanks cotton cloud!

I’ve bought a couple futons and mattresses over the past couple years at Cotton Cloud. First, I like the products and that they are available in organic types. I also like that they make them locally. Finally I have had clear and consistent communications with the staff and found that they did what they said when they said they would. Also I think paying ~$ 400 for an organic locally made queen mattress is a really good deal. I’d definitely recommend these folks.

My review is purely based on our experience in the store, not the products since we unfortunately did not make a purchase.
My husband and I were natural latex mattress hunting and since we recently moved to the area from California, I was very excited to check out a local business.
Upon entering the store, we were greeted by an employee (Andrew, I believe his name was. Sorry, I’m embarrassingly horrible with names!) and he was more than helpful to show us their mattresses and futons.
I found the latex mattresses to be comfortable and well constructed, and I fell in LOVE with a wool mattress topper. But then the problems began. My face started itching, my eyes, my legs, anything that touched the wool topper. Ok wait. My eyes obviously didn’t touch the wool topper but they were definitely irritated.
This totally bummed me out since I have never had an issue with wool before. And I am pretty adamant about getting a non toxic mattress (no foam, even if it’s certi-​pur) So obviously this was not the right store for us at the moment.
BUT I will be returning to buy my husband a millet pillow. He fell in love!

I had a tremendous experience working with the team from Cotton Cloud.
The staff are super friendly and very helpful. The quality wood furniture will last a lifetime. The mattress… so comfortable! Their huge selection of covers is amazing. I did two packages: a full-​sized frame, mattress, cover and large chair frame, mattress, and cover. Plus, coffee table, end tables, and a lamp. Boom! Living/​guest room done.

Exceptional customer service and quality are to of the traits I admire in any business.
I purchased one of their made-​in-​house foam mattresses and a bed frame from them 7 years ago. It’s in great shape still and I love sleeping on it!
Recently I moved my bed to another room and later I noticed one of the bolts had fallen out and I couldn’t find it. Since it’s part of the integrity of the frame I was a little concerned.
However, upon calling Cotton Cloud they told me to take a photo, come on in and they would look me up in their system. Sure enough, they had me in their system and were able to identify which frame I had and find me the bolt I needed in their spare parts.
I’m super pleased with the bed I love sleeping on and they helped me fix the missing piece… no charge!
They asked if I needed a new bed… and I had to laugh because they sold me such a high quality mattress I won’t need to be back for another 10 years! But I will be when it’s time!

I bought my first-​ever futon from Cotton Cloud in 1989 when they were in the building on Burnside and 30^th-​ish. That was a single, and I’ve been back since to buy other items — frames and mattresses — when my sleeping surface needs changed. I was just in today buying another futon, so I’m giving the long-​view review.
They have organic materials and mattresses wrapped in wool so you don’t have to suffer flame retardants — even the very mild one (boron) that they use on the cotton-​only futons. That’s a big yay for me.
They make their stuff locally and employ local people. Another yay.
They’re a small business. This has pluses and sometimes minuses, in that if one person they hired to do the daily tasks effs something up, they all look bad. But the local-​ness, overall, is a yay.
I’ve had the range of customer service experience — I’ve been ignored, overly helped, and also given the spot-​on treatment. You get what you get. Everyone likes to be treated a very specific way when they come into a store. Just now when I was in I was definitely put off in favor of explaining sofa options to some window shopper-​type couples, when I had cash in hand and knew what I wanted, but since I dress like a grubby hippie and didn’t wash my hair today, I s’pose that’s what I get — from Mr Baseball Cap on the sales floor. HA! Portlandia episode waiting to happen.
I’ve worked in sales, I sympathize. It’s hard to guess what everyone likes in the way of sales contact, but overall, in 20+ years, no one has pissed me off enough to change my mind about buying locally-​made, organic bed mattresses for under $ 500 from this company.
Bottom line: solid inventory, kind people, local business, organic bedding. Can’t say fairer than that.

My review pertains to a purchase my wife and I made in December 2012. I waited a few months to decide before finally writing this.
We purchased a futon mattress and frame. Our mattress was supposed to have organic cotton, wool, a low VOC foam core, and organic cotton shell. It was also six inches thick and was supposed to last 3 – 5 years, before permanent compression would set in, with daily use and monthly rotation.
We live in Siletz, Oregon and drove 138 miles, one way, so we could have a sofa that would not make us ill with toxic off-​gassing and pesticides. When we brought the mattress home, we discovered there was no wool inside and the shell, while supposedly organic, carried a tag that said it was a cotton/​polyester blend.
We called and they told us to bring the mattress back and they would make a new one. They explained the worker, who assembled our mattress, was not very reliable and would probably not last long.
My wife drove the 138 miles, one way, to return the mattress, then drove 138 miles, one way, to pick up the replacement several days later. This time it was assembled correctly and with the proper materials.
However, here we are four months later and, with proper rotation, the mattress is already compressing to the frame when we sit on it as a sofa.
This store does not allow refunds so we are stuck with this uncomfortable mattress until we can save enough money to buy an actual sofa that is non-​toxic. We wasted hundreds of dollars on the mattress, to say nothing of the fuel spent driving back and forth between Siletz and Portland.
The only reason Cotton Cloud Futons does not get one star is because they actually offer organic furniture items.

I’ve been telling my boyfriend that I wanted a new futon mattress for at least the past 6 months, but when we moved to our new place this weekend I decided it was finally time. So we took a trip over to Cotton Cloud. The space was big and bright, with every mattress out on display, ready to be tested. The woman we worked with (the owner, as it turned out) handed me a price guide and started walking us through the store, explaining the differences between latex mattresses, cotton/​foam mattresses, and everything in between.
We tried out a bunch and settled for the organic cotton/​foam core mattress. They didn’t have it in stock, so we decided to get it delivered and set-​up on Thursday.
Honestly, I’m hoping I won’t have to come back here for the next 5+ years, but that has nothing to do with the store. Excellent customer service, and a really good selection (in a wide price range, which I also appreciated).

Wow, these people are patient. I was being the most obnoxious, picky, overly thorough customer ever. I asked a million questions, returned 2 mattresses & they still were patient and helpful! I love their mattresses, and that they use non toxic materials.
