I found service to be slow. Non friendly. The food was ok. The waitress we had was rude and inattentive. Almost didn’t give a tip.

The Decoy in Portland on the way to St. Johns Bridge. We stopped for a late breakfast for the wife and an early lunch for me. Both dishes were very good for an odd time of day, also had a great bloody mary. Stopped a few times since(incase you cant tell, i am catching up on my reviews). Thanks as always for reading.

Get the mandarin chicken, get the mandarin chicken… omg. its a mouthgasim. Best thing i have ever put in my mouth and believe me i have put a lot in my mouth. The potsickers are HUGE, hand stuffed and pan fried until golden… im drooling right now. I have been here twice both times I have had two different female bartenders and they are very sweet. some of the older gentlemen locals are kinda rude to the girls and they dont even bat an eye… good for them. I want to eat here everyday if only i didnt live that far from it.

Great little bar. But the bartender on Thursday evening 6÷4÷15 toke like ten minutes to even act like I was not even here. Then was asked half assed if I needed something. And then got a bad face because she had to get me a beer

Great food. The specials are always good. My favorite is everything rice, it is not on the menu. It has fried rice, chicken, shrimp, beef, pork, and some vegetables. Truly a great dish if you like fried rice, and a lot of it.

Quite possibly the worst Kung Po shrimp I have ever had. Over done, only vegetables were onions and green pepper in a black heavy soy sauce. Most of it went into the garbage disposal. Used to be a good place for Chinese food but cutting corners on quality has ruined the menu.

5stars for food and that’s why I come back… The service HOWEVER leaves A LOT to be desired. We get the the WORST service here– no please thank yous, its a special day if you actually get a spoon to stir your coffee! Side of sassy served with an extra large portion of «here’s your sign».

Excellent food, been eating there for three years now and nothing has ever been bad. Highly recommend the weekend eggs Benedict, best anywhere in Oregon(only the Tidal Wave in Manzanita on the coast compares) but really, anything on the menu is good if eggs aren’t your thing. Friendly staff, cozy feel, great drinks(especially the Bloody Mary) and clean. The restaurant is cute, could use a small bit of updating and the parking lot is a bit hard to get out of, but all and all, five stars!

Friday night fish & chips for 8.95! They were perfectly cooked and delish, thick clam showder. Very nice wait staff and sports. We saw a ping pong table in the back! Will need to come back and play.

On a random Sunday a friend and I decided to come out here to try it, just to see if it should be rated so high. Sadly, I didn’t understand what people were raving so much about. It’s like they’ve never had actual authentic Chinese food. The Chinese food here is literally what you can find at Panda Express, no offense to the owners here, they food was fine and I wasn’t expecting anything to make me want to come back, but at least the service was nice. I came in, the owner greeted me behind the grill/stove, and told us we could sit anywhere we wanted and if we were of age we could’ve sat in the bar. We decided to see what the bar was like, and it was too rowdy so we came back to the restaurant side. Both sides are about the same, except the bar side has a full bar which you can order from. The restaurant side, has a few games you can play, look like they’ve seen better days also, just like the whole place here could use a new makeover. But hey, it makes it look more divey! Upon order we looked over the menu a few times, they even have a happy hour menu from 4pm-6pm with few things at $ 4 and a few drinks for cheap too. The first page is breakfast, the middle two pages are all american food, and other random things such as pizza also. Lastly on the back page is a few Chinese dishes which didn’t stand out that much to me in this type of setting. Nonetheless I ordered a chicken fried rice and also a chicken chow mien because of one of the recent reviews that gave it 4 stars. The order took a few minutes to complete maybe because there was literally no body that ordered food, and on the bar side were just people drinking and being loud. The food came out, it tasted fine. Nothing was too outstanding, usually to gauge a chef’s skill in Chinese food, you start with the basics; fried rice, and this fried rice didn’t stand out sadly. The chow mien wasn’t that memorable either sadly. Next time if I do come back I’ll try something other than the Chinese food, but for now I don’t understand why Decoy happens to be rated so high, there are much better places for Chinese food if you want to travel a little bit, but maybe not in Linnton.

Me and my boyfriend shared the seafood platter and deep fried mushrooms. It was your typical bar food. We played Keno while we were waiting and won $ 4! Woooo! There was a dude behind us that had a few too many drinks and would not stop talking about sex. And he was being pretty vulgar. It looked like he was friends with the bartenders and they really should have asked him to keep it down. It was pretty distracting listening to this guy talk about his size while I was trying to enjoy dinner with my boyfriend. The staff was friendly and helpful. The menu is pretty big. They have American and Chinese food. I had a good experience, but I will not go out of my way to go back.

We tried this place for the first time due to all the good reviews of the joint. We were not that impressed. The booth we sat at had a freezing cold draft coming from underneath it that chilled us both. I got a french dip to help warm me up, and my husband got mongolian beef. When it arrived my bread had moldy spots on top of it which they gladly exchanged for non moldy spotted bread(they said it was a new package…) My husbands meal was alright, he wished it came with pork friend rice or something besides just plain white rice. We were not overly impressed with the joint and probably wont be making more stops to grab a bite on our way home. They did however give us a break on our tab for the moldy bread which was fair to us. Seems like a great spot for the locals.

One of my favs for breakfast, haven’t been there at night. The drinks are pretty strong and reasonably priced. I always get the same waitress and she is very nice, I will be coming back for sure. Just wish they’d stay open later during the week.

Today I wanted to try something new and after Unilocaling a little, I chose Decoy since it had good reviews. When i got there it seemed pretty empty. Just one couple there on my side and a party of few people in the other room(i think thats their barroom). I looked at the menu. They had a mix of American food but also asian menu on the last page(I had come there thinking it wasa Chinese restaurant). I got garlic chicken. It was breaded and fried unlike the garlic chicken I have had at other places. It tasted good though. The reason for my low ratings was the service. The restaurant was not that full yet the service was really impersonal. The waitress seemed to be in a hurry. Another person meanwhile tended to me couple of time when she saw me waiting. It maybe that they are more attentive to their regular customers rather than those that just happen to drop by randomly…

This is my favorite dive bar that just happens to have awesome Chinese food! Whenever they have live music it is always a blast. Their pizza is super tasty as well. I could probably eat my own body weight in their pot stickers appetizers, just sayin!

When we walked into the bar, it was on fire. Literally. The bartender drew a name in alcohol and lit it on fire on top of the bar. What!?! That’s the first time I’d seen that. I had kung pao shrimp and my husband had pizza. I liked his pizza. I enjoyed my Kung pao shrimp — it had great flavor, but was ovall quite salty. The rice helped balance out the sodium, but I was drinking a ton of water throughout dinner and afterwards.

I can’t believe I neglected to talk about Peter’s recipes and«ancient Chinese Secrets» he brought back with him from the motherland(Peter immigrated legally to the US from mainland China years ago) in my original review. Golly Jeepers this man’s Gung-Fu is strong! I particularly recommend his Egg Foo Yung(smothered in gravy!), Shrimp Fried Rice, and Salt ‘n’ Pepper squid(one of the very few Chinese places to offer this divinity to the masses-S/P squid. You can thank me – or more appropriately, Peter later). The portions are insanely enormous— you can feed several people with one serving, or be assured plentiful leftovers. The prices are super cheap, and the service is always friendly and prompt, every time. Good luck finding Chinese half this good for 10 miles in any direction…

If you’re in the area of Decoy & in need of a food fix, you should be safe here. Not gourmet, but just well-prepared & tasty food at a reasonable price. I’m even tempted to try their Asian menu(Which I usually avoid at such obviously«Western» appearing establishments).
