I have been there several times. The food has always been fresh and wonderful. My vegetarian daughter loves the options they have. She feels comfortable eating there. I can’t wait to go back again!

I only posted one star because it didn’t give me the option for zero. Ran into the toothless day cook shaving himself in the women’s restroom. Was then served some sloppy carnie food that really should not have been considered food at all. I remember coming here six months back and receiving exceptional service from the red headed waitress/bartenders Jenn. Apparently she no longer works here and they have now replaced their entire staff with an army of carnival workers. Please feel free to come here for shitty fair food and poor service… if that’s not what your into, don’t waste yer time.

This place has the shittiest cook. The owner has never run a bar before, so let’s the cook make all the BAD decisions. Good luck keeping this sinking shithole a float now that the only good bartender who knew what they were doing is gone.

Edit 11÷11÷15 — Oh! I have been 86’d from the Lighthouse for voicing my disgust over their actions in firing their Bar Manager,(at least that is what it seemed were her duties.) I will not support a business that treats their employees, especially long term employees with such disregard. — I love the look and feel of this bar. The previous owner took a lot of time and effort to redo the bar. It’s super chill and comfy. I love the bartenders here as well. They are friendly and quick and serve a mean drink. HOWEVER — the single star is for the food. You can’t eat it. It’s horrible, old and nasty. Do yourself a favor, eat at the decoy and stop by here for a nightcap.

I have been coming here for years and the food used to be excellent. Now the food is terrible and I refuse to eat here. I only come in for the wonderful bartenders and the amazing drinks. I give it two stars for the food, but I would give it five stars for the drinks. It is sad how downhill this historicsl establishment has become.

I really like this place. The wait staff is awesome. The atmosphere is a little divey but then again it is linnton. Good beer on tap. The only bad thing about this place is the food. It used to be good now it is not!!!

Standard greasy grill-menu. Probably not ideal for vegetarians or vegans. Food items were very OK(probably 3-star worthy), but our waitress was very attentive and professional, thus the 4-star rating.

Wtf is going on here. Owners are up from a long distance off, have no clue to the local clientele. Want to take down a wall that separates lottery from the bar. Not only does the wall block the view of the lights from machines but defused the sound. Very bad decision. Also this will mean the door must remain closed at all times to block view from children. Which really sucks cause when the swear back up the place needs the added vetilation.

The best. Great food, generous pours and kind and thoughtful employees. Friendly regulars, calm atmosphere, flat screens, juke box, video poker, separate dinning room for those with children.

I would give them a higher rating of 5 for just the bar staff… they are wonderful… the food was horrible and the liquor behind the bar well was limited… very very sad… I felt sorry for her as she tried to explain

Love the history you feel just walking in. Fries and burgers are great and the bar is nice and cordial.

NOMORETACOTHURSDAY! Since the latest owner took over a couple years ago, quality/cleanliness has improved. And a group of us have become regulars on Thursday. We eat cheap tacos and spend the rest of our money on drinks. Jen, the bartender, is lovely and supports our wanton drinking. But owner passed away last year and since then the kitchen has lost consistency/care. We’ve been tolerating the occasionally crappy food until last week, with no fore warning, new kitchen dude killed the Thursday night tradition. The person who inherited the restaurant wasn’t concerned with our opinion. Well loyalty goes both ways. We had a good run Lighthouse.

The lighthouse has a new and improved menu. Went on Sunday and had the Prime rib. It was one of the best I’ve had. If this is how ask the food is, then this chef is a keeper. We will be back! :-)

Stopped in for dinner, a beer and a meeting with some guys. I have driven by this place a thousand times and had never been. Some of the guys had been here over the years and suggested it. When I first walked in it was dark, very dark. The door was open to the outside so that let a bit of light in. The regular locals seemed to have found there groove at the bar as it was full so I found a seat at a table to wait for my group. The waitress came straight over and was supper friendly and efficient. They have a great beer selection here. The décor is fantastic! Old wood and a dark bar are exactly what you would expect to find at such an old established watering hole. At the front it looks like at some time in the past there must have been a wood stove. I could just imagine sitting by that wood stove in the winter on a cold day watching the world wizz by on the hwy and enjoying a cold drink. I don’t know why they would have got rid of it other than maybe the commies in Portland might have told them the smoke is killing a lizard in Siberia? I dunno but to bad Reading the good reviews of the food here were spot on. I ordered a jalapeño burger and it was fantastic! Yum. OBVIOUSLY no frozen ready made patties here. God, you sure can tell the difference. Service was superb! Thank you Mira(sorry don’t know how to spell it) the chef even came out to make sure we were all satisfied :) Food was way above the average. This place is worth a short drive. Atmosphere. old School COOL. Harkens back to the day of indoor smoking. The place is Clean, Cozy and Comfy.

We had a great time here and Mira was an amazing server! I’ll definitely be back here and I’ll always stop here on my way to Sauvie’s.

Saw good reviews for this little place… was driving right by and it was time for hubby and I to eat lunch. I’m so glad we stopped by. I had turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. All was really good especially the mashed potatoes! Hubby had philly chicken and he said it was good too… he also got a side of onion rings. They were some of the best onion rings I’ve ever seen!!! Thick slice of onion and definitely hand battered — soooo good! The place was clean and very much into the nautical. The only issue I had was the bathroom stalls were tiny! But it was a nice, clean bathroom — so I can deal with small if its clean! Definitely a place to stop by. Hopefully next time I won’t be pregnant and can enjoy a draft!

Wow! Just had breakfast there. Just short of amazing! Sarah,(I think) was a phenomenal server and the breakfast steak for $ 10 with all the trimmings turned out to be a thick cut of prime rib. I will definitely go back. you should check it out!

I really like this place, and I am a fan! My friend somehow found this place out of the blue. He doesn’t Unilocal, but he likes to read the reviews and enjoys backseat Unilocaling with me. Went there with a mind to try their burger and I’m so glad I did! A great feel, cute as hell on the outside, slightly seedy and comfy on the inside … and DARK, Sarah the bartender(it had to be her) was just so friendly and super. I can see how that might rub some people the wrong way, but I’m a loud-mouthed, east coast jewish girl. I loved her. She made us all shots — non alcoholic — to cure whatever ailed us. Then she made me a margarita after I told her I was a «sweet drink» girl. It was pretty good. But the burger was REALLY good. bacon, ham and an egg — not usually a fan of egg on burger, but when in rome. For $ 10 you get a really good and decent sized burger with fries. The fries were fresh, very naked, could have used some seasonings but I liked them. Sarah was proud of the article that featured the bar… was it Portland? Anyhow — I would definitely go back for a burger, or a happy hour — which is all day Sunday(drunks only, no food discount). See you there.

My second visit, a quiet place to discuss business discreetly, and also hope to one of the most massive burgers in Portland. The Lighthouse Burger features a ginormous patty(a full pound?) on an oversized roll, and is topped with bacon, ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. This sucker weights in at about a gillion calories no doubt. Comes with a size of fries, tots, salad, or fruit. I can’t even make a dent in this sucker without discarding the bun, first, a shame, but true.
