I wish I found this earlier. Dine in 2Nite just solved my big dilemma: how to cook, healthy, fresh meals for family(one husband, two very energetic young boys) and juggle a demanding work schedule. We are devoted foodies and have not been disappointed by the quality of ingredients and the flavors introduced: no watery chicken breasts here. I DID crunch the numbers. Our baseline was a weekly grocery bill of $ 220, plus the hour it took for me each weekend to plan the meals and figure out recipes. It took me 30 – 45 minutes a night to prepare dinner. Let’s be conservative and say 30 minutes, so 2.5 hours a week for that. Now, for that tricky part of calculating value of my time. When I was an independent contractor, I billed at $ 120/hr, but that sounds a bit ridiculous here, so let’s say $ 50/hr. $ 50×3.5 hours = $ 175 + $ 220 groceries = $ 395. Plus reduced pressure. With Dine, we get 4 meals, 3 times a week.(Portions are very generous, we usually have leftovers to cover 2 other nights or at least lunches.) Cost per week: $ 120. Still need to do grocery shop for fruit, breakfast and lunch ingredients, and other stuff, but total bill averages $ 150 weekly. Total is $ 270. That’s $ 125 we save PERWEEK. Plus, they accommodated our dietary restrictions. I mean, really?! It’s amazing.
