I have a juice subscription. Yes, I get juice EVERY WEEK. Why? Because it’s amazing. The Tantra is my absolute favorite. The ginger and the turmeric shots are a great addition.
I love picking up my juices at Firebrand in NW. Do yourself a favor, pick up some dried mangos while you are there. The on-​site PJC staff is always helpful and polite. What happens when I’m going out of town or want to change up my weekly juices? I email them, and they take care of it. It couldn’t be easier.

I love their grapefruit juice! They have tons of awesome juices that are super good for you! Their lemon & turmeric juice shot is really sour but pretty good. The ginger juice shot is super spicy!

Stopped into the NW location this morning and was helped by Ellen, who was super knowledgable and really took the time to explain each juice to me (and even let me try the very delicious pistachio nut mylk!) Wonderful customer service and delicious juices to boot, I will definitely be returning here for my weekly juice fix :)

Outstanding juices and service. There’s no way I would have ventured into a three day cleanse without the help of PJC. Adding the bone broth from Time, Salt and Heat was a winning combination for me.
While the juice may seem expensive, $ 6.50 for veggie/​fruit juices and $ 8.00 for nut mylks, the juices are organic and far exceed any juice I’ve tasted before. The mantra sings – it’s sweet and delivers a mild heat that lingers in my mouth for several minutes after taking a sip. The blend of carrot and orange juices works for me, but adding the ginger – a favorite of mine – and turmeric and cayenne seal the deal. I could drink this daily and skip coffee completely (that’s a big statement for me).
My first big order here was a three day fast – 12 juices that I could pick and a 32 ounce chicken bone broth. It was all delicious. Next time, however, I will just order 12 juices individually and make my own chicken broth. It saves me about $ 25.
I’m not fond of the mylks, so that saves me a bit of money – if you like the richer selections – Om and the coffee mylk – get the package; it’s slightly less money than ordering a combination of juices and mylks.
Also, you can have the juice delivered to your home or office, but there are plenty of locations to pick it up yourself and save $ 15. I drive close to two PJC locations, so it’s easy to order online, set a location and a pick up point.

I love Portland Juice Co. Fresh, nutritive, detoxifying cold-​pressed juice tastes amazing and gives me piece of mind in this fast-​paced, modern world of fast food and chemical ingredients. Jeanette is the best juice slinger and helped educate me on all the various combinations for different health concerns from inflammation to dehydration… so happy a little kiosk within Firebrand Sports is there! My daughter and I went in to pick up our three day juice cleanse… got to sample all flavors and choose our juices. Really fresh and tasty, great help with answers to our questions about cleanse. It was a success — will do it again.

I LOVE PORTLAND JUICE CO! Since I’ve started to drink this juice regularly in the past month, I’ve noticed that I feel AMAZING and lost ten pounds! I love the green juices and the nut mylks. The Prana gives you all the nutrients your diet is lacking, the Dharma is so tasty and refreshing, the Shanti is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy, and the Karma is so hydrating! Not to mention how the seasonal nut mylk with cacao is genius! Almond chocolate milk? Uhhhh, yes please!
They currently have three locations open to the public: inside Firebrand Sports in the Pearl, inside Industrial Barre off NE Broadway, and in Southeast at 12^th and Powell.
The staff is the best! Everyone is so nice and knowledgable, which just makes the experience so much more enjoyable!

So, I needed a boost and a pick me up to swing myself headed back the other way after all of the gluttonous holiday revelry. I picked out 9 different juices and three nut milks — basically one of each from the entire menu. Figured I would have three juices, one milk and one light solid meal (veggie soup with lean protein) for three days.
Yes the juice is expensive but it is delicious, fresh, and delivered right to your door. It’s not something I could afford on a regular basis but as a special treat it’s totally worth it. All the time and $ for the ingredients I couldn’t do it for this price at home.
The juices are all very different tasting and fresh and fun for the palate. I won’t lie and say I wasn’t hungry — but really I was not hungry in a bad way. It actually felt good not to be so full and bloated for a change. I knew I was getting enough nutrients and calories and really, it’s only three days.
That said, three days on ONLY juice is not for me. But this was great! I will do it again in a few months as a reboot of the system I had great energy and felt like my body responded very well to it. I will recommend to friends and family.

The juices are awesome here. I have done their juice cleanse to give them a try along with a few other places. I think their combos are really tasty and keep me energized and full for the most part. Fresh pressed juices are expensive everywhere you go so can’t complain about the prices.

My 18-​year old daughter wanted to try a juice cleanse and so she did. She got hungry but made it through the three days and emerged happy and more appreciative of real food. She liked the different character of each juice — some shel liked better, some she wasn’t too keen on. Overall she liked the variety and flavors. At the end, she said she felt great physically if a little tired. What really struck me was that she was so proud of herself for sticking to it.
I may never do a cleanse, but more power to those who do so, it is an exercise in commitment.

I recently tried the «diy detox» option from Portland Juice Press (or Portland Juice Co, as their website says). 12 bottles of fresh juice that I picked up one morning. I’m not here to talk about cleansing or detox or anything like that, but the product and the business.
Juice: Fresh, tasty. Creative combinations that I mostly loved. I had 11 different flavors, with one repeating. I liked probably 8 of them a whole lot. It seemed like some of them were too watery, but not all of them had added water. Tantra, Prana, Dharma and Om were some of my favorites.
Service: Friendly, professional. Their facility on Powell has a light and open feel that reinforces the freshness of the product.
Downside 1: I am not thrilled overall by the business plan here. Each 16 oz. juice retails for $ 6.50 at the store. The 12 pack box cost $ 79. That means I paid one dollar more for… what? I didn’t even get to pick my own juices. Of course I didn’t realize this because I had ordered the box online and they don’t list individual juice prices online. So if you’re tempted to do a cleanse, I would pick them all up at once in the store, or every other day or something. I would have guessed that a bulk order would actually cost less than individual bottles.
Downside 2: I would really have loved a calorie and sugar count on each bottle. Many people choose to cleanse as a weight loss program, or to kick start a diet or something. Even a rough estimate would be nice. Especially with the «diy detox» régime, where you add a small meal to 4 juices. How many calories is it? I have no idea. It would be nice to know. Especially with the nut milk drinks. I am sure these are much higher in calories, fat and sugar.
Downside 3: Their website says they use organic and local ingredients as much as possible, but there’s really no way of knowing what’s in any given juice.
Overall this is a promising business but unfortunately it is just too expensive for regular use by me. It will be a treat for days when I want an über-​fresh splurge. Possibly while I purchase heavenly sausages from across the street at Edelweiss!

Juice cleanse virgin here. I’ve always heard great reviews regarding juicing, but wasn’t too sure if it was for me. I always pass by this juice spot on my way to and from lunch and one day finally decided to give a try. The staff allowed me to taste test each of their juices. So nice of them!
The juice is freshly made, yummy, and very refreshing! My favorite is the Kale, Grape, and Cucumber. They usually have a select menu of seasonal juices that they feature from time to time. Definitely worth testing out. Also, to all my fellow lethargic beings if you need your juice fix but too lazy to stop by the shop. they also deliver! Doesn’t get much better than that!

We love their juices!!! They are so yummy and fresh. My husband I both did a 5 day juice cleanse and with their juices being sooo good the cleanse was easier than I anticipated.
I visit here frequently when going to my yoga studio at Yo Yo Yogi and I love their seasonal grapefruit, ginger and mint juice. Great juice to help fight of the flu’s and colds.

As I write this post, I am drinking my very last juice — the Om — after a 3 day juice cleanse. That’s 72 hours, 18 juices, one Alyssa.
I had tried PJP here and there in the past at events and always thought their juices were tasty. I was, however, vehemently against doing a juice cleanse. So many of my friend and acquaintances had done them through other organizations, and I heard horror stories of hunger, exhaustion, and, erm, bowel movements.
It didn’t seem healthy to me to forgo all that fiber, but the growing popularity intrigued me. Several of my coworkers had finished juice cleanses through PJP and had very positive feedback. In the end, it was a coupon that pushed me over the edge (the Jew in me prevails) and I found myself signing up for 3 days of juice. Oy.
I decided to do it over a weekend so that I would, in theory, be awake less hours and could just hole up in my house and cry over all the delicious foods my friends were eating without me.
The first day, Friday, I felt great. I even worked out that night, and I never felt hungry. I didn’t even finish my 6^th juice, I was too full of liquids, and decided to reserve it for the next day.
Saturday, I woke up feeling good. It wasn’t until about 5pm that the hunger started to kick in, but one of the more filling juices set me straight — and that extra juice from Friday didn’t hurt :) The worst part was when I got a last minute invite to a free dinner through work — I’m talking GOOD food and good wine… and I couldn’t go. that was pretty tragic. But I told myself that food and wine would always be there… and surprisingly, it didn’t seem so bad.
Sunday, same deal. I was a little hungry throughout the day, but I was surprised at just how filling the juices were and how little I was really craving anything else. I even made it to hot yoga, and while I was STARVING when I got home, a seasonal sweet potato juice left me feeling satisfied.
Unlike many of my fellow juice cleansers, I can’t say that I feel «amazing» — in truth, I feel about the same as I always do, maybe just slightly hungrier :) However, I was already a fairly healthy eater and didn’t have any extreme sugar or caffeine dependencies (I love cheese, but who doesn’t?!)
What was the most surprising thing was how easy it was to not have food. Never did I feel like I needed something other than the juices — perhaps it’s because they’re just so damn DELICIOUS and with 6 a day, you get a ton of variety. Even as I finish my last juice, the idea of eating tomorrow isn’t something that excites me that much.
The best thing about the cleanse, is it made me realize going without bad food is much easier than I thought it would be — it’s just all about self control. It’s inspired me to continue making good food choices — I’ve already prepared food for the week which consists of lots of veggies, whole grains, low on dairy, etc. I’m excited to see if extended healthy eating makes any changes in how I feel or look, and I know that I have the willpower to keep going through now.

Basically, the short story is — if you’re thinking about doing a cleanse, I can’t recommend PJP enough. They’re super nice, helpful, friendly and professional.
The juices —
1. the Guru– Apple, Beet, Carrot
I love this one! If you like beets, this juice is for you.
2. the Prana– Romaine, Cilantro, Collard Greens, Cucumber, Lemon, Ginger
OK, this is my LEAST favorite of the juices, but I don’t lke collared greens. I had one of these during my cleanse, and subbed the seasonals for the other days.
3. the Dharma– Kale, Spinach, Parsley, Apple, Lemon
Yum! Like a salad you can drink!
4. the Dharma2– Pineapple, Coconut h20, Kale, Spinach, Lemon
This was the perfect post-​hot yoga drink. Hydrating, refreshing, filling, delicious.
5. the Mantra– Red Bell Pepper, Carrot, Apple, Broccoli, Cayenne Pepper
I didn’t think I was going to like this one, but I actually did! It’s not my favorite still, but it’s tasty.
6. the Om– Hazelnuts, Cinnamon Stick, Dates, Filtered Water ($ 8.00)
By far the most filling, most delicious drink on the menu. It tastes like dessert!

I had one of these during the cleanse and i loved it! A little spicy, a lot delicious.
Ginger, Lemon, Raw Honey, Filtered Water
I didn’t have this as part of the cleanse since it’s just not really enough sustenance, but it’s delicious!

This one wasn’t my favorite — I tasted it but opted not to have it in the cleanse (the Om is better!)

I really liked this one and had 2 in my cleanse!

My second favorite to the Om! It’s nice and thick and filling and just downright delicious!

Last week I did my first juice cleanse with Portland Juice Press. After looking into it some online, I opted to try the 5 day juice cleanse. I loved that PJP was local and that I knew the juices were never frozen or shipped from somewhere else in the country.
I filled out the order form online and hoped for the best with the office delivery that they offer. I work in a building that can be difficult to find, but they were there around 9am on my first day to get me started. The delivery guy was very friendly and not disruptive when he delivered the juices. I liked that they dropped them off fresh everyday instead of doing 2 days at a time.
I’ll admit, the first day was bad. That night when I went home I felt like I was getting sick… I had chills, kinda like getting the flu. I drank more water and just hoped the second day would be better… and thankfully it was! I was shocked at how full I felt all week long. It really did help me see that I don’t need to eat as much and that I need to stay better hydrated during the day.
As for the juices themselves here is how I’d rank the 6 that came in the standard clense:
1. Guru: It’s good this one was first, because it was SOOOO good and got me hooked right away. It was refreshing and sweet
2. Dharma2 and Om: These two are tied for 2^nd in my mind. The Dharma is so light and hydrating and I looked forward to it every night. It tasted similar to flavored coconut water I’d had in the past. The Om is also just plain delicious. Definitely the most hearty and fulfilling drink of the day. It was an added bonus that it’s sweet taste made it feel like you were having dessert.
3. the Dharma: Best of the «green» drinks! I’d buy this one again to help quickly down some green veggies.
4. the Prana: This «green» drink is okay. It felt it tasted a little too sour. I also noticed this one started tasting worse as it warmed up. I keep putting it back in the fridge before drinking more.
5. Mantra. Ick. I get shivers just thinking about this drink. I drank less and less of this one each day. I just couldn’t handle it. I love spicy foods, but this just didn’t sit well with me. I should have asked to have it replaced by another juice after the first day.
Bottom line: If you are in the mindset to do a juice cleanse, I’d highly recommend PJP

I experienced Portland Juice Press through their 3-​day juice cleanse. I have always wanted to try a cleanse but I was not interested in doing the prep/​clean up myself. 10 of us from work signed up and the experience was an overall positive one.
I am 180 pounds of triathlon woman. I normally eat 1300 – 1500 calories a day but I fell off the wagon and decided to reboot with a cleanse.
Cons
1. I didn’t stop my training and so I was hungry every two hours or less (I drank about 80 oz of water with my juices) I bought an extra juice from New Seasons two days and on the last day before an open water swim I bought an extra OM. My co-​worker who does cross-​ft had to supplement her day with a banana and almond butter. The Dr. Oz website recommends a fruit/​veggie meal at the end of the day. I would say have two of the six daily beverages be OM (higher calorie nut milk)
2. I did this on work days and had to go to bathroom A LOT
3. I developed diahrrea but I must confess I added 4– 12 Tablespoons of hemp PROTEIN powder (a lot of fiber, 15 — 45 g protein) daily to make sure I maintained muscle fitness.
4. My face tingled like an out of body experience… dizziness?
Pros:
1. It made for hilarious facebook posts
2. Checked cleanse off my bucket list
3. My co-​workers and I are so much closer. What else are you gonna do when you spend so much time in the bathroom together and talking about going to the bathroom and how desperately you want meat and miss chewing.
4. I lost weight (probably from the Colon Blow effect)
5. EXCELLENT customer service. The folks at PJP didn’t balk when I asked to swap out the «not to my liking» Prana for a Seasonal. When I was running late for a pick-​up the staff waited for me.
6. My joint/​body aches and pains were reduced
7. I did sleep better after the second night got 8 hours!
8. I felt less bloated.
Overall: Yeah it was worth it but see my tip below.
TIP:
If I could do it over, I would have 3 OM (sweet nut milk) and 3 juices… you’re giving up so much… that OM is a lifesaver. I am sure I would have gone off the deep end without it.

*REVIEW FOR THE JUICE CLEANSE*
BACKGROUND:
I finally made the decision to try juice cleanse! I know there are tons of juice cleanse companies out in the market right now, but I decided to go with a local business that can deliver fresh juices daily for the period of my juice fast. Initially I wanted to choose Kure Juice Bar, simply because I’ve been there and liked their juices/​smoothies. However after checking it out online, I learned that they don’t deliver to my zip code (in Beaverton). Greenleaf Juicing Company doesn’t have delivery service, so that left Portland Juice Press (most expensive) as my only option.
MY ORDER:
I decided to go with the 3-​day juice cleanse. Some juice companies offer different juices everyday for the duration of your fast, but PJP only offers the same 6 juices for 3 days. However, you CAN customize your own plan and substituted certain juices with their seasonal juices.
I went with their menu, but substituted juice #1 with «Blackberry, Ginger, Lemon, Raw Honey, Filtered Water» juice for day 2 and «Pineapple Carrot Orange Nutmeg» juice for day 3.
INDIVIDUAL JUICES:
#1. the Guru– Apple, Beet, Carrot
I never got to try this one because they messed up with my order –_​– I had blackberry ginger juice twice on day 1 & 2…
#2. the Prana– Romaine, Cilantro, Collard Greens, Cucumber, Lemon, Ginger
This juice was alright but I didn’t enjoy it. The ginger taste was strong and the cilantro flavor was overpowering.
#3. the Dharma– Kale, Spinach, Parsley, Apple, Lemon
I liked this one, I will try this recipe on my own after the cleanse but without adding parsley.
#4. the Dharma2– Pineapple, Coconut h2O, Kale, Spinach, Lemon
This one is my favorite, it’s the only sweet juice out of all 6 (on their regular juice cleanse menu). I actually enjoyed this one and didn’t force myself to finish it.
#5. the Mantra– Red Bell Pepper, Carrot, Apple, Broccoli, Cayenne Pepper
Omg, this one is the worst! The cayenne pepper really burned my throat and together with the bell pepper it tasted awful. It was a torture to drink this one. I think the one I had on day 1 had a lot more cayenne pepper than the one I had on day 2; or maybe I just got used to the flavor after day 1?
#6. the Om– Hazelnuts, Cinnamon Stick, Dates, Filtered Water
I thought I would enjoy this one the most, but I didn’t care for the strong cinnamon taste. If they used less cinnamon I probably would enjoy it a lot more. However, I started really liking this one on day 2 and 3.
## Blackberry, Ginger, Lemon, Raw Honey, Filtered Water
The ginger taste was really strong, it didn’t taste good the first couple sips, but after awhile I got used to it and started tasting the sweetness from the blueberries and honey. Overall it’s good but I didn’t really enjoy it.
### Pineapple Carrot Orange Nutmeg
I’m so glad I got to try this one! This one is my absolute favorite. I can see why, because it contains mainly fruits — sweet and tasty!
OVERALL EXPERIENCE:
My overall experience was good. I didn’t get hungry during the 3 days, and it was pretty easy to go through a day with only these 6 juices. The only things I would complain are the price and the fact that I didn’t get to try the Guru juice… I might do another cleanse with PJP in the future!

There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of a juice cleanse binge.
At least that’s how I was feeling during the first day of my 3 day cleanse. It didn’t take long to realize that visiting Unilocal was out of the question, as any thoughts of solid food would certainly drive me to the edge.
Instagram and its endless parade of food porn? Eliminated from my daily diet of social media dependence.
Even the great and powerful Don B. was close to getting the axe on Twitter, Facebook and all other social media channels. Why subject yourself to the endless pornography of the able bodied Larry Flynt of fine dining smut, when you’ve just placed a chastity belt on your diet, but your food libido is suffering from unrequited blue balls?
But the worst part was the shakes. Not from the lack of food or nutrients; I’m talking about the DT’s. I felt as if I was in one of those old Looney Toons episodes where Bugs and Daffy are stranded on a deserted island… except instead of Bugs Bunny turning into a rabbit stifado, Daffy transformed into a bottle of Eagle Rare.
Eh, sniff sniff, what’s cookin’ doc?
But you know what? It got better. And I actually started to feel better. And those toxins? No longer avenging.
I even dropped some weight.
6 fresh juices a day. Delivered right to your door. Quick, easy and effortless. And while some were certainly not my favorite (I’m looking at you Beet Apple Carrot Guru juice… and your spewing bloody butt baby abortion toilet art) they were all designed to get you from one point in your day to the next.
So if you are looking to cleanse, and feel good about yourself, give them a try. But whatever you do, stay the hell away from Instagram and Don B, for while I can’t define food pornography, I know it when I see it.

6 stars for customer service!!! I have now ordered 5 3 day juice cleanses… there was one issue w one bottle and Liz at Portland Juice Print went above and beyond on assisting us. The prices are actually very reasonable considering they use local (when able) and organic fruits and veggies. It is very costly to do this same 3 day juicing on your own, I actually saved a bit ordering from PJP (saved hours and hours of prepping and clean up time). The juices are deelicious! If you haven’t done a lot of fresh juice before it may take a day or two to get used to the taste, my bf couldn’t get down the celery one at first (which is one of my favs) but did end up liking it.
Local, fresh and customer service that can’t be beat! Oh also I live in Vancouver and they so happily delivered an order of 3 cleanses to me even though I’m over the bridge! Thank you Portland Juice Cleanse cannot wait to get another 3 days worth!

My friend is obsessed with this place, so she carted me along her recent trip this week. Unbeknown to me, it was two doors down from my favorite PDX Cider Bar. From the outside, it almost looks deserted. You walk in to find a clean, open space. There are a few tables and chairs if you choose to stay and play. For the rest, it is quickest to grab and go from the fresh fridge.
The woman who helped us was perfectly pleasant. She smiled as she let us delight in sampling the different flavors that we available. The cayenne options were a little harsh for me, and I can only imagine how they feel after a «cleanse,» so I turned my attention to the sweeter fare. I was particularly interested in «The Om» which had the delicious flavors of hazelnuts and dates. The milky texture was comforting. My favorite now includes «The Karma» with Pomegranate, Ginger, Lemon, Raw Honey, with Filtered Water. The raw fruits and vegetables don’t last long, so be prepared to drink your purchase within a day or two.
And be prepared to spend… BIG. At $ 6 and $ 8 per juice, this healthy lifestyle doesn’t come cheap. Got some money to burn? They will deliver fresh juice weekly for $ 55 and three times weekly for $ 165.

I grew up on fresh vegetable juice. I’ve been a fan of beet+carrot+lemon+celery+whatever since the day I could remember. And honestly, since I moved to Portland, I haven’t got enough of it. Why? Because pasteurized juice is lame, and Portland was long lacking in any semblance of a fresh juice bar… until Kure and Sip came along. I trend toward Kure, but I can’t hate on the other options. The more juice, the better. Shit I’m the on-​again, off-​again duke of Kure on Unilocal.That’s how much I love my fresh juices.
Recently I decided (with some prodding from the missus), that it was time to do a short juice cleanse. Portland Cocktail Week will do that to a guy. Especially Portland Cocktail Week followed by two days of Halloween parties. My busy lifestyle doesn’t really jive with picking up juices, let alone making them myself (even though I do have a juicer). I definitely don’t have time to design my own cleanse on top of all of that. In comes Portland Juice Press. These folks offer a designed juice cleanse program that’s DELIVERED to your door. For $ 165 (yeah, that seems a little steep), I get a box set of juices delivered to my door every morning by 8am for three days straight. It even comes with instructions on what to drink and when. Six 16oz fresh organic juices, times three days.
Plug and play.
I paid to have Portland Juice Press do it for me. It’s all local, organic, and unpasteurized. And crazy convenient. As I write this I’m in the waning hours of day 3 of my cleanse and I do feel great. It runs around 1200 calories a day, so I have had to supplement with a few extra cals here and there, but overall the drinks have been tasty and well-​planned.
After doing some research I understand that Kure offers one too, so I may look in to that one next time, but as of right now, I am pretty pleased with the service I’ve received from PJP. The price is steep but the convenience is really nice. One morning they mis-​delivered our juices to our neighbors and we had to call for a correction. They handled it well, but when living on juice alone, timing is kind of everything.
Now back to daydreaming of solid food.
