I love cider, and I’m usually not too picky. I’m always happy to try something dry, sweet, sour, etc. I was completely baffled that out of the taster of 10+ ciders, I didn’t like a single one of them. I definitely got the feeling that their ciders are more on the sour end of the spectrum, which I’m fine with, but these just weren’t enjoyable to drink whatsoever. The space is casual and relaxed, very no-frills kind of place(and not the sort of place to run to on a hot day, unfortunately). The bartender was nice enough as well, didn’t have the same horror story experiences that others have had, but it wasn’t too crowded, which probably helped. Sorry, this just isn’t my cup of tea(or pint of cider, for that matter).

Great place. Some of the tables are vintage pacman/arcade games, some patio seating outside as well. Selection of ciders are either featured on the blackboard(can get a flight of 5 for solid price– I believe it was $ 12?) I ended up buying a selection of 4 bottles to gift to friends and a Thistly cross(UK) elderflower(apparently elderflower is difficult to find anywhere so I had to try it!) we enjoyed the Sonoma bottle of pear cider and gave away/haven’t tried the rest. Once I got her attention, bartender was really helpful with all my questions and she gave me more than a handful of suggestions — at various price points, various origins and levels of dryness and sweetness — of the tastes I was looking for. Great service ! The flight had a mix of Apple ciders with one punch, a ginger and a cherry? I forget. Neither of us were a fan of the punch, but I loved the unique ginger cider and he particularly enjoyed one of the drier Apple ciders.

I am a SoCal cider drinker(very blah selection in my neck of the woods) I am in love with this place and I think Stacey might be my soul mate! She is extremely knowledgable of all things cider AND she likes 80’s music

I am just coming to understand how much I like hard cider. My son and his wife went to the UK and came back raving about all the varieties of hard cider that they found there. Why, they asked, aren’t there that variety here? Well, that led me to investigate and explore the world of Portland cider culture. And you know what? Surprise, surprise… little Portland again is leading the way with small cider houses and cider breweries(is that what you call them?). When said son and wife came to town we headed to Bushwhacker Cider. We found such an incredible variety of ciders… not just your basic apple and pear but many others. And many different brands. There are several on tap but tons in the cases in bottles. DIL and I have a shared loved of everything elderflower(San Germain, juice, etc.) and she actually found bottles of Elderflower cider. OMG!!! We both loved it. And Bushwhacker is the only place in town to buy it… and I am hooked. The Bushwhacker is in a small retail strip. The space is small but they have outside tables. We sat outside on a sunny afternoon, trying all sorts of different flavors. What a fun way to spend some family time. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I will definitely be spending more time there.

Nice place with outdoor seating. They have a lot of cider I wouldn’t try again(hops, straw?, and some funky barrel aged). The best on tap cider I had was from 2 towns, which I have also visited. Parking in front but the one way streets and traffic made this place stressful to drive to. Tons of bottles inside. Definitely the place to go for take home cider.

This is a great neighborhood pub near the Aladdin Theater. They have a very large array of ciders to choose from. I had Farmhouse. Light, dry, crisp. A great place to hang.

I am a huge cider fan. I try to grab my hands on new ciders everywhere I go and it seems that Portland is the only place with such a huge selection of them. Bushwhacker Cider is one of those hidden gems that I feel not a lot of people know about. It’s amazing how many hard ciders and cider wines they have at the store. My friend and I chose one from the tap«Jaggy Thistle» and was not disappointed. We found out it was from Scotland and that Bushwhacker Cider house were the only ones who had this drink. The only downside to the place was that they did not have a lot of snack options but your there for the cider. I will be moving to Portland soon for work and I’m really glad I found my cider go-to place.

We got a deal off groupon for a flight of cider + pitcher. First off, I would like to say good on groupon for getting such a good deal from a cash perspective, 2 flights and a growler for 21 bucks is great. However, the cider they serve is far from great. They lack any sort of variety whatsoever, all the ciders they had were extremely bitter or they tasted like they had been filtered through a rusty tube. To top it all off the cider that bushwacker itself brewed literally was so acidic it tasted like vomit. If you’re looking for a cheap way to get a buzz and a growler, this is the place for you. However, if you actually enjoy cider and the different variety of tastes it has to offer avoid this place. Very disappointed.

If you seek cider this is your spot. Super friendly staff and amazing selection. I’ve always wished for a better food menu but now they have a pizza cart which will make long summer afternoons a reality. No beer but if you think ciders are«too sweet» you haven’t tried enough of them.

They got their 5th star from me as I’ve been coming back and this place just gets better with time… They have now added a pizza food cart outside for you to satisfy your food cravings. If not, there is always the deli across the street and they have small eats as well at Bushwhackers. The pizza I tried was pretty tasty, but I would like to give them another try so I can have another type of pizza. I am never let down when I come here and always leave with a 6 pack variety of cider from who knows where and also with the bubbly cider flavors that remain lingering on my palate as I just had a taster of ciders I had yet to try. Their taps change often enough that you should always be able to try something new all the time. I have bought cider all over Portland and their options surpass most others and also their prices. I am never let down and the staff is friendly and you can often see the owners tending bar as well. Try it out if you have not…

Being the very limited alcohol drinker that I am, the one thing that I consistently like to try is cider. Imagine how happy I was when I found Bushwhacker Cider and could sample so many at once! I got the 5 sampler tray($ 9) which is supposed to be #1−5 on the list but upon asking, I was lucky enough to be able to switch out #2 for #6 instead. This turned out to be the best move because #6 — the Idaho semi-sweet Longdrop cider made with fuji, gala, golden delicious, red delicious, and granny smith apples was by far my favorite out of the five! It is just the perfect apple cider drink! Without going into too many details, #4 and #5 were also quite tasty and would be drinks I would get again by itself. I thought #3 was too earthy for me but understandably so since it consisted of prickly pear, juniper, and sage. I had a wonderful time at my first Oregon brewery. Great service, cute area with lots of old school board games — monopoly, battleship, connect four, cranium, etc. I definitely wished I could bring along my friends to enjoy the fun as well.

If you love cider this place is gonna blow your mind. The only bad thing is being limited by how many ciders you can feasibly carry home with you! The bartender was super helpful when I was choosing a gift for a friend — she obviously knew a lot of the flavors and gave good recommendations for what my friend might like. They had a modest selection of snacks, but be sure to have a proper meal beforehand because there isn’t quite enough food to satisfy!

We’ve been going here since they were open only a couple months. They have cider on tap and in bottles. There’s outdoor seating, it’s dog friendly, wine by the bottle, and beer in bottles and cans. They do cider releases on certain Thursdays. It’s a great place for a pint or more to enjoy by yourself, with friends, or to meet new friends!

My friends and I dropped in on a quiet Monday night to grab a few drinks and play some games. There were a few people outside, but it was pretty dead inside. We settled on the 8 glass taster, figured we better try everything they had on tap. In the end, I only really liked one of the ciders, but it was fun tasting them. We played Ms Pac Man and a few games of Sorry! while we drank. This is the perfect place to just hang out and enjoy a few drinks. They also have a pretty amazing selection of ciders from all over the world. I will definitely be back to grab a few bottles to go. All in all, a nice chill place to grab a cider.

Rad! $ 4 flights, what more could a lady ask for?! The key to my heart is tasty cider, good conversation and board games and they had all 3! Friendly service, great cider and chill atmosphere. I will return and more fun will be had!

Came here the other night with my boyfriend for some cider. Upon arriving, it was really warm inside and didn’t have much air circulating so we moved to the patio. We had the taster(8) and cheese plate. The bartender was super friendly, but was spread a bit thin. The place we pretty full and he was the only one there. I loved the large variety of ciders, but when I asked the bartender for some recommendations on a «sweeter» cider he didn’t seem too knowledgeable. He gave me a few options and I chose from the case. I wasn’t incredibly pleased, but was happy to try something new. We really liked their section of games and having a few food items was nice. The bagel chips and mango chutney on the cheese board were really good. The taster was great! I would return.

The place is nothing special but that’s what I like. Chill vibe, no crowd, no bs! Tables both inside and outside, board games, simple snacks and cheap flights. A good selection of ciders to enjoy there or at home, friendly/helpful service, all at and decent price. Worth checking out and having a few! *FYI it looks like there is now a food cart located out front. I’m almost 100% sure it’s a pizza cart but that’s all the information I have right now. Just more of a reason to stop by and pick up more ciders!*

My roommate and I have been talking about coming here since we moved to SE over a year ago. Unfortunately I was disappointed. As a bottle shop I give 5 stars they have great selection and I will be back to but cider to take home. My biggest complaint about how off putting the bartender was. From the moment we sat down at the bar she kept insisting we pay not even giving us enough time to decide if we want food, which we did and it was a great cheese tray. First she asked if we were paying separately, then asked if we wanted to start a tab. We both did the 1 – 5 taster obviously we weren’t going anywhere but she kept repeating the price of the roommate and I are pretty normal looking late 20 something no cause for alarm that we would run out of the building laugh with bellies full of cider. I honestly found it so off putting BC we were just trying to enjoy and discus the ciders while being barraged by the bartender to pay the bill. I finally just put some cash on the bar to shut her up. We were planning on having a leisurely cider tasting then get a pint or two but instead decided to finish and leave within 35minutes. It would have been nice since we told her it’s our first time to kind of explain stuff a little more. I will be back to but take home cider but if I see that lady Im definitely not staying!
