Love this place twice in same week. The beans and rice were fluffy and very tasty. The shrimp dish which is there speciality was magnificent the taste was dancing in my mouth. The comment about racism is off I’m black male and they were very nice to me and seemed delighted to serve me. I’ll be spending much money here, I advise anyone who enjoys Mexican seafood get here quickly.

This is the best place to get burritos on division. You get greeted by a friendly staff member and offered fresh corn chips with homemade salsa while you wait. The chicken burrito is delicious definitely coming back.

We stopped by with a fairly large group between youth soccer games on Saturday. It worked great. The service was friendly. Portions were great. I really enjoyed the shredded pork in green chile sauce — the pork had a nice garlic flavor. I would highly recommend that. The kids enjoyed their tacos. I would avoid chicken, though — it was a bit bland. Stick to the shredded pork, and you will be glad you stopped by here.

Had the carnitas combo and my wife had a fish and steak taco– and margaritas. This place is small and appears very authentic with a family-run type of feel. I was impressed by my carnitas because they were actual chunks of pork – like big chunks. The flavor was pretty good, but it didn’t deliver a punch that would make me want to go back – some of the meat was a bit too dry and some was nice and juicy, but the spice blend used was a bit under par. The rice was simple and the beans were simple. Everything seemed fairly fresh and was probably prepared on the spot. My wife didn’t really enjoy her fish taco(probably frozen tilapia, the hostess didn’t even know what kind of fish; that a problem) nor did she like the steak taco; it was kinda like quickly prepared food-cart tacos. The margaritas were basic.

I’m sure their food is tasty but I came in and ordered two burritos to go. 20 minutes later I asked my server how long it would be before my burritos are ready, she responded with 10 minutes. I over paid for my beer and I left. There was one other table in the restaurant which had their food for several minutes I have no idea why it would take 30 minutes to make two burritos at a Mexican restaurant.

Came here because of the fabulous reviews but was not impressed. We were the only people in the restaurant at lunch time and still took 30 minutes to get our food. Food wasn’t bad but was definitely not worth 5 stars or the wait.

This place is waaaayyy out there, but so worth the drive! The restaurant itself is fairly small(kinda feels like a trailer home), but inside it’s very clean and honestly nothing fancy. The woman who served us was very pleasant and shared some of her favorite dishes on the menu(She suggested the Al la Diabla and Sarandeado shrimp combos). We ended up ordering the Sarandeado and Al Ajo combos and OH.MY. They were so amazing. The Sarandeado was served with the heads on, which was a bit freaky for my taste… but I just pulled them off and my husband ate the meat of of that part. The rest of it however had just incredible flavor and just the right amount of spice. You could tell the shrimp had been marinated for a long time because the flavor was full throughout the shrimp. The rice and beans that came with were also good. The beans were refried, but not too fatty and were topped with queso fesco. Plenty of food to fill you up! I felt $ 15 was a good price considering the amount of shrimp that came with the dish. Next time I have to save room and try the Chili Relleno

The best Mexican food I have found in PDX. I LOVE good Mexican food and this is the place to go. I have been here a couple of times now and will be going back. Their Chili Relleno is fantastic. It is as good as I have ever had. Beats what I have had in LA, San Diego, and Phoenix. My wife has had their Shimp Quesadilla and loved it. There is a juke box that has a lot of Tejano music on it and that just adds to the atmosphere. Very casual and being a small place it can get busy but go no matter what. This is the best place, small business restaurant. Do not miss this place if you like Mexican especially seafood.

The finest mexican cuisine we’ve had yet in Portland. My verde pork burrito was succulent and flavorful — long after I was full, I just had to keep eating! The beans and rice were good, the side of onion and lettuce was a nice touch, and my wive ordered some green cheesy shrimp thing that was even better than my order. I almost wish I hadn’t tried it since she was only going to let me have one bite! I will certainly try seafood next time. The jukebox makes you pay to hear mariachi, the waitress had so-so english, but the food was just unbelievably delicious and very fast, so five stars all the way. Good luck finding the place at night though — the lighted road sign is faded and the parking lot behind the house is a bit tight if there’s more than one truck. they charge you two bucks to pay with a card, which was a new one on me… Also, at the table they have a great hot sauce I’d not tried before — forget the name, but it’s the not-tapatio one. Great rich flavor with a medium kick. We’ll undoubtedly be back so I’ll update next time.

This place is an epitome of awesomeness… except, probably, for its location, which is less-than-prime, although the benefit of being located far away from Belmonts/Hawthornes and Albertas of this city has its easily-definable benefits mostly expressed through modest prices and lack of snooty attitudes(both food– and service-wise). Let’s be honest, it’s awfully hard to find a non-food_cart Mexican place of above-average quality in Portland(I’ve been to quite a few), let alone the one that serves great seafood. But this isn’t even about the seafood here, which is noteworthy in itself and deserves its own review… What separates good restaurants from great ones is the quality of secondary offerings on the menu. While seafood occupies the biggest chunk of the menu, their tacos, enchiladas and combination plates are equally great. Everything was fresh, flavorful and reasonably-priced. While the weather still permits, grab one of the outside tables and enjoy your food there, because it does tend to taste better in the open air. Buen provecho!

Overall pretty good. Salsa was good and spicy which told us we were in for some good food. We were not disappointed. Service was a tad slow, but she was very courteous, and overall we were pleased with our decision. Margarita was weak though… Parking was not fun-parking in the back when there are more than 4 – 5 cars is a nightmare. Park on the street to avoid dings… yep, the spots are that tight. Overall, we will go back. They do accept credit cards, but will charge you $ 2 for cards.

7 years at this spot and I did not notice it. well not until I saw their umbrellas outside for the benches. I’m a sucker for those umbrellas as it means summertime! Anyway, we walked into a huge table of a family of hispanics. That struck a chord. This has got to be downhome decent. I ordered a chile rellano and a pescado taco. It took a while to get our order since they were feeding the big family first. I just chilled with a few coronas and lime. no problemo. Once I got my food though I was in cielo de cerdo and I ate like a pig to prove it! The cheese was just melting right out of that rellano when I cut into it. The pescado was too big a chunk to pick it up and eat like a taco so I used a fork on it. It also was pan-fried vs. breaded. Their salsa is hot and spicy too! This is a total find and we will be back, even though when we left there were about 5 tables full and we were the only white faces. It’s that good! We felt honored that we learned about a new local mexican eatery.

Yep, it’s true… this little place is a king hell five star joint. We dropped in for lunch on a Sunday and the little place was full of Hispanic folks, cowboy hats, and Meriachi music humping the jukebox. An extended family of about 15 took up a single long table, and they wore their best snake skin boots, rhinestone shirts, and Stetson hats. We had just finished planting vegetables and wore stained blue jeans and sweaters — we sat in the back. I’m a hog for Mexican dishes featuring whole deep-fried fish, so I ordered the Mojarras Al Mojo which is Tilapia deep-fried with tons of garlic. This is the real deal — Mexican food prepared specifically for Mexicans… but you can eat here too.

THISISTHEBESTMEXICANSEAFOODPLACE I’VEEVERBEENTOO– NOJOKE– They have best Shrimp I’ve every tasted! I now go here once a week to get the shrimp — i believe the name of them is «camarones sarandeados» — they have the best flavor i’ve ever tasted and they are cooked perfectly ever time I’ve been there. This is my new favorite shop in town and I cant get enough of it. Everyone that I have brought here have LOVED the shrimp(even those who dont like seafood). I have some other menu items, and everything has been awesome. I try not to give out 5STARS to often, but this deserves 6STARS! The place itself is small, you can barely see it off the street(Division), but its a great place to eat, no doubts. I initially found it through a friend of mine and was really sketched out when I initially entered the premises. I sat down and the waiter was very friendly and brought out chips and dip immediately! *** Order some Picco De Gallo as well, it compliments they’re chips handsomely! **** We ordered right away and the food(shrimp) came out about 7 – 10 mins later. They were fresh and juicy, i literally licked my fingers dry! The taste is OUTRAGEOUS and they are the best thing i’ve ever had. Please dont write this place off when you see it. I am not Hispanic — I dont know the owners or anyone who works there, I just know that their food is ‘ta die for’ —

All I have to say is BESTSHRIMPEVER! If you get anything else you are oh so dumb. Ya its 14.95 for the plate, but worth every penny. If you are a true foodie like me then its a small price to pay for perfection. get the cagun shrimp and you will never go eat shrimp anywhere else!
