Good food, fast service, nice people. Really all you would expect in a place like this.

Fajitas have three basic ingredients(green bell peppers, red bell peppers, onions) plus meat or fish. I’ve had fajitas probably 100 times in different restaurants. In every case they were unremarkable, except at Casa del Sol. They cook the ingredients properly here. I had chicken fajitas, for $ 9.95. The chicken was nicely grilled and had a little bit of a charbroiled flavor, which is usually missing from fajitas. Best of all, the peppers and onions were cooked enough to be a little bit soft and also pick up some of that charbroil flavor. All the other times I recall fajitas, the veggies were undercooked and tasted too raw. The fajita mix is enough for two, and comes with rice and refried beans, a bit of sour cream and guacamole, plus salsa if you request it. The five tortillas were not enough, however; so either plan on buying extra tortillas or eating some of your fajita mix with a fork.

Come here for the breakfast burritos and the chile relleno burrito! The tacos are good too.

I’ve finally found my Portland breakfast burrito place. Around $ 5 gets you a whole breakfast wrapped in a tortilla with some sides of amazing hot sauces. I’ll be back to try the rest but the burrito alone merited a review. Yay!

I stopped to pick up dinner on my way home, I ordered using Unilocal app so I could get in and pick up hot food without the wait. The online, or in-app, ordering was great. My BF wanted a burrito, and when I got home he found it was enchilada style, i.e. smothered in sauce. He said it tasted great, just not what he wanted. He wanted a burrito he could pick up and eat, not one you have to eat with a knife and fork. I ordered the three enchilada plate and got it made with chicken. The enchiladas tasted good but the side of beans were so salty they were almost inedible, I mixed them with the rice to tone down the salinity. Last I ordered some chicken taquitos for an appetizer. They were big taquitos but most of the filling was potato, not chicken, which I found weird. Would have preferred smaller taquitos that only had chicken filling. The portions were big but the food was just mediocre. With all the other Mexican food options on Division, and on the Eastside in general, I won’t bother coming back to this one.

Have been here twice so far and really love the food. Have had their all meat burrito(carne asada) and their bacon breakfast burrito. Both were delicious and I cannot wait to try more things on the menu.

This place is nasty. They like to serve you old reheated food. I was the only one in the place and the guy taking my order had a I don’t give a crap attitude. TacoBell sadly makes better food.

They have really good authentic Mexican food. Steak cheese fries is a favorite here. Friendly customer service and wait time less then 6 mins and less then 15 on big orders.

Delicious, giant burritos! The super is not joke, this burrito can feed you for days and it’s good to the very last drop! I love their shredded chicken, and carne asada. You can’t go wrong with this place! I also love the salsa bar they offer, they have this hot creamy green jalapeño sauce that is out of this world! The owner is very personable too and always greets you with a smile, this place is awesome for the taste, price and size! Winner all the way!

Super friendly and delicious. This is a family owned joint and I’ve always been served with a smile. The hostess taking our order even came around to check up on us to make sure we were enjoying our experience. Big kudos for that. The selection of meats is extensive. They have all the classics and for the more adventurous they have tripe and lengua(tongue) which I’m a big fan of. Their plates are big and generous and you’re more than likely to bring a to go box home. Their super burritos are insanely large and you’ll find yourself thinking«how do I eat all of this…» Salsas are my jam and this place delivers. They have 5 different ones. One of my favorites is this creamy green one. I don’t know what’s in it, but it’s one of my favorite restaurant salsas. If you have a to go order they have tons of cups and lids for your salsa. There’s nothing more disappointing for me when getting Mexican food when I am either limited in how much salsa I can bring home or are charged extra. I love to drown my food in salsa! It’s wonderful they don’t skimp on the cups. Salsa bath anyone?

Wow. Just wow. This was incredible Mexican food. Possibly the best I’ve had… That’s saying something! Too bad I live in North Portland, because I would be here a lot. I got in and thought it looked like a Muchas Gracias, but I was so wrong. The carrots/onions are perfected, along with Every. Single. Salsa. I miss it already. I ordered nachos with refried beans instead of meat. The cheese was perfect, the amount of toppings was perfect, the chips themselves were perfect… I live on Mississippi Ave and consider myself a seasoned foodie. This blew me away. EATHERE! Better yet, open a restaurant in Portland, Casa Del Sol!

I had a chimichanga here today and my husband had a vegetarian burrito. It was unbelievably amazing! The burrito wasn’t sweaty, the chimichunanga was the perfect combination of crispy and tender, plus the portions were very generous. There was clearly enough for two meals on each plate and it was 15.00 for two people. I highly recommend here but be aware there is a bit of a wait time for fresh, hot food. No biggie for me but if your expecting ‘taco b#ll” results on the price or time frame, your going to be SOL. –SVJ

Unilocal says they deliver and that you can order delivery through Unilocal link-tried and it didn’t work. Called and lady was rude, said they don’t have delivery, went in to get my burrito it was cold. Screw it Never going back

I love this place. The people who work here are awesome and I’ve never had anything bad. It’s a divey restaurant in deep SE on Division. I say«divey» but the place is immaculately clean. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, this is the place. A diamond in the rough for sure! I always get the chicken enchiladas and they are always delicious.

Sometimes adventure calls, and venturing out of my normal food circuit is the only proper way to answer. And venturing out to SE140-something-th and Division for Mexican food can definitely satisfy that thirst for adventure. What’s even more? Stopping in to a spot despite less than stellar reviews on Unilocal. We had a hard time finding our original destination out this direction so we just dropped in to this spot for a quick meal. $ 15 netted us a large plate of nachos, a plate of birria complete with beans, rice and tortillas, and three street tacos. Oh, and a Mineragua. That’s definitely cheap. Cheap enough for me to wonder where this food is coming from. But when you’re dinning this deep in E. Portland, you just roll with it. Plainly put, the food here definitely left much to be desired. The nachos didn’t have enough cheese, and too much in the way of pasty refried beans. The birria was decent but not great. Nothing compared to the version from El Pato Feliz. H. B.‘s tacos were just okay. The standout flavor of the meal came from one of the salsas in the self-serve salsa bar — a slightly roast-y, slighly nutty flavored thick red sauce that was labeled as Habañero(it wasn’t) that we simply couldn’t get enough of. Likely an arbol salsa. Don’t get me wrong, the food here isn’t bad, it just isn’t good. for the quantity and the price, you don’t make out too poorly. But we’ll probably try harder to find out original desired destination harder next time we come out this a-way.

Trust me, this panda will drive wherever he needs to go to try a place out. Food is such an evil hypnotist that way. You really can’t miss this orange building, with a tall roof-like portion to it. The inside feels like a festive Mexican restaurant. A flat-screen TV plays Spanish programming. There’s a place near the counter with a bunch of Mexican candy/goodies for sale. I got the Super Burrito($ 6.25): choice of meat, pico de gallo, sour cream, lettuce, cheese, beans, rice, and guacamole. I nixed the sour cream and chose lengua(beef tongue) for my protein. An extremely thick burrito awaited me. I’m no expert on guessing burrito weight, but it had to be over two pounds. Maybe closer to three. I’ve never had lengua prior to this, and boy, was it a great choice. Very tender and moist, seasoned well. The refreshing lettuce and pico de gallo helped offset the more filling beans and guacamole. The Spanish rice was cooked very well. Nice steamed flour tortillas somehow kept the filling inside this thick beast. They also have habanero salsa as a condiment option. Nice spice for a heat-seeker like myself! I’m a big breakfast burrito fan, and if I’m ever down there again, I’ll consider their breakfast burritos. The regular is a very reasonable $ 3.99, containing cheese, two eggs, hash browns, and meat(ham, bacon, or sausage). The super breakfast burrito is $ 6 and contains all the meats PLUS chicken fried steak, mushrooms, onions, and peppers. Aside from the usual tacos, quesadillas, and tortas, Casa del Sol also offers huevos rancheros, sopes, chiles rellenos, and Mexican breakfast plates. All reasonable prices, in my opinion. Are you a person who can pack away a serious amount of food? Take on their Man v. Food Carne Asada Kilo Challenge. It’s a kilo(2.2 lbs) of carne asada, an order of beans and rice(basically a large plate of each), ten tortillas, and salsa. If you want, you can opt to do double order of rice or double order of beans instead. There appears to be no stated time limit, although I could be wrong on that. If you finish, the meal is free, you’ll get a free meal for your family or friends, and your pic will go on their wall of «Kilo Champs.» Fail, and your pic will go on the wall of «Kilo Chumps» — and your wallet will be much lighter. As of early August, only two winners in 14 attempts. Will I try? Hell no. I know my role these days: stick to normal amounts of ridiculously spicy food and love it. But my competitive eating buddies would easily nuke this challenge. It probably would be a matter of whether they would smash the house record(whatever time that is). But yeah, I liked my burrito here. It wasn’t life-changing, but hey, still great. I’ll try to be back in the future for more.
