Amazing coffee! And they have so many milk alternatives not just soy and rice milk. Almond milk and hemp milk which are the best with coffee. High recommended!

A couple years ago, I decided to try this place out. I didn’t have a great experience, and didn’t go back. I recently gave it another shot. I’ve gone a half dozen times now, and each time there’s always an issue. I really want to like this place! But unfortunately, I can’t get over the issues that occur every time I go. The customer service by one of the baristas is completely lacking. I can’t stand when there’s another car on the other side, and she completely ignores me when I pull up. As a former coffee shop owner, I probably have super high standards. But saying hi and acknowledging your customer should be the bare minimum. Also, I do enjoy the fact that they offer Stumptown. However, the quality of service, as well as me sitting at the window for at least 5 whole minutes(not counting the time you wait to get to the window!) is extremely frustrating.(I order a small Americano). Not sure if I’ll go back now that I’ve given it several chances.

It’s are to screw up ALL aspects of a cappuccino but with little effort they did it. Under tamped, over extracted and then scald the milk so bad the drink is too hot to drink. Wish it were better but it never is.

Love this place! I’ve been coming here for a year since I moved into the apartment complex next door. Their lattes cost the usual price one should expect to pay for a good latte. I am pretty sure its the same price as even Starbucks. The difference is the coffee is about 100 times better. I always get the vanilla latte and its ridiculously creamy and delicious. Support this awesome small business!

Cause I had a good time. I love giving out Fives. This cute little hut is directly across the street from my kickboxing place and pererfectly snuggled into the Multnomah Village Neighborhood. My car was third in line at a quarter to Nine this morning. They must be good! I love all the extra greenery around the hut. It’s double sided for busier days, I guess. It is no longer a Shell Gas Station it stands next to, but a CHEVRON. I’m trying to fix the cover photo. I don’t want peeps to be confused! I ordered an Iced Caramel Soy Latte. I really enjoyed it. The girl who worked the window was very friendly. She chatted me up a bit. I’ll be back.

I was a fan of this place but it turns out I might have just been a fan of good coffee and my barista the week I was there. The last couple times I’ve been here the service has been super slow. I was the only customer I had to wait 20 minutes for a latte, instant oatmeal and an iced coffee. Worst, the barista didn’t tell me the oatmeal was a sickening sweet Carmel Apple Pie flavor! I couldn’t eat it and wouldn’t have ordered it if I’d known. I still like this little coffee hut but it all depends on who your barista is.. She was nice but struggling to complete our order. They have some training to do.

I’ve been a big fan of Espresso Works ever since they opened. The baristas all take the Stumptown training and the quality of the drinks is always excellent. Always friendly and efficient with easy entrance and exit. In my opinion, it’s the best espresso in the Multnomah Village, Garden Home area.

I bike by Espresso Works every day during my commute and finally decided to stop by there. I really wanted to be a fan because of it’s convenient location and the fact that they serve Stumptown Coffee. I hate that I’m actually not a fan, but I honestly wasn’t happy with my visit. I mean the service was good and all, but my decaf soy mocha pretty weak on the mocha side(although full bodied on the espresso side) and the price was $ 7.25 for a small and a medium drink? I’m all about supporting the small business person, but I think that’s probably a bit much.

Espresso Works has been situated next to the Shell Gas Station at the Corner of 45th and Multnomah for around a year. If you’ve ever driven by the red coffee cart, you’d see right on the sign affixed to a patch of grass in front, «We Proudly Serve Stumptown!» That alone is usually a good sign when it comes to coffee, and a better sign for drive through coffee carts that aren’t always the most adept at making a good mocha or latte. Well, Espresso Works does a pretty good job at the whole coffee business. When I’ve got time in the morning I like to hit up the cart before jetting off to pick up my first orders of the day for a good caffeine fix. Hell, points for extra convenience because the shell station just 10 feet away is one of the friendliest service stations in Portland and I can gas up both my car and my body in the same stop! You’ll also find they have a variety of smoothies and coffee blended drinks(If you’re up for the calories and the day is warm enough, get the Kona blended drink!), as well as Kettleman bagles, muffins, pastries, and sandwiches! If you’re like me a need a little food to be in your stomach before caffeine so you don’t get jittery, this is a good thing! Basically, super friendly fast service that does not require me to get out my car when I’m on the run(which is often) is never a bad thing. They’re definitely A-OK for sure!
