This is a hidden gem in the neighborhood and the new owner, Tommy, is an easy going guy who really likes wine without making me feel out of place for ordering a beer every now and then. Yep, this wine shop, along with offering wine tasting flights, also curates a nice beer selection on tap as well and growler fills. #wine #beer #pdx #alberta

Came in here on a Wednesday afternoon to enjoy some wine. The place had great reviews so had to check it out. It was early afternoon so it was the owner and myself there. He was wonderful to talk to, had great views on enjoying wine and made me feel very comfortable. I had a Cabernet and Pino Noir. Both were delicious. Great music!

Came here tonight with friends for his birthday. It was so cool that they agreed for us to have the whole store for celebrating birthday party. Very friendly and cozy atmosphere inside. The store is full of wines. They have the best MOSCATO I have ever had in my whole life– so refreshing and good, just perfect. The bartender was very nice and polite helping people in the party. I definitely will go back to this place for many other occasions.

I used to live around the corner from this place, and Beth let me bring my dog, my angst and my artwork to the bar. It is truly the né plus ultra of the portland wine experience. An expertly curated wine stock, where I could always find something amazing to drink or to gift. It is truly the only thing I miss about not living in the neighborhood anymore.

I had no idea that a flight of wine could be so un-enjoyable. The atmosphere was so-so & the service was unimpressive. Luckily, someone who represented the distributer was there to explain the flight(that earned a star) but the woman who worked there showed zero passion for wine, and didn’t even pretend to be polite & engaging. And the worst part is that I’m pretty sure she was the owner not an overworked, underpaid lowly employee. «Burnout Alert» and it showed! We’ll take our $ 50 and head elsewhere next time.

Stopped here for happy hour. But there is no happy hour. Asked for a flight of wine, but the owner wouldn’t give me a flight of wine, even though she had multiple open bottles sitting out. No one else was really in there while I was there. Apparently she serves flights on Fridays only.

I don’t have much to say but decent selection of wine with a fair price. Obviously Oregon focused, but I found a good Argentinean Malbec for my party.

I lived here in the area when I first moved here in 2007 and love wine but always have been very unimpressed with this place. I’m a Southern Oregon wine fan, and all I’ve had at this place is more bold fruity wines. I decided after years to go back today, and again was unimpressed. Whoever was there wasn’t very friendly or talkative, and well I felt uncomfortable there. It is kind of a plain, non-fancyish, no foodie, kind of a hipster vibe kinda place. Just wasn’t for me. I can go and get much friendlier service and snacks at Vie de Boheme, which still is one of my favorite wine bars to this day. I probably won’t go back to Every Day Wine… for I’ve had so much better experiences overall at other places. Just sayin’…Not sure why it gets such great reviews.honestly.there’s better out there!

I’m a little confused by this place. Perhaps its a better bottle shop than place to sip wine? I’ve never had to try so hard to get some service. We were basically ignored, told to just pick out a wine and they would serve it(ok– weird), but had no direction provided in terms of types of wine or cost. It was a pretty unpleasant experience and I couldn’t wait to get out of there. needless to say we haven’t been back– unfortunate.

When it comes to the race to intoxicate me wine has always been a distant runner up, dozens of yards behind beer and neck in neck with liquor. However, the combination of my need to be continuously dunk and my worry over my ever protruding belly, convinced me to seek an alternative to just beer. Since I tend to take my pants off after a couple of Bourbons, I decided on the vino. At first this is a problem because I prefer to do my drinking in public(as it keeps me from falling too deep into any metaphorical holes) and wine bars tend to be bit too uppity and well lit for my day drinking desires. While many of the customers are of the upper crust variety and there are no corners to hide in at Every Day Wine, I quickly became a regular. As I’ve mentioned in other reviews, seeing the owner working guarantees at least one star, the owner being a kind down to earth person gets it another, so Every Day Wine starts out with two stars right off the bat. Beth is a very cool person who remembered not only my name but pretty much my entire life story(I talk a lot, even when I’m not drunk) by the end of my first visit. She’s extremely pleasant and definitely not a pusher. Beyond that, the wine was excellent. Beth always remembered exactly what it was I liked and would recommend a glass or bottle based on that, and never was she wrong. In fact, when my brother-in-law, someone who rarely drinks, paid us a visit she got him hooked on Port. If Unilocal had half stars, I would give Every Day Wine four and a half(because of the light) but since it doesn’t, I have to go with five. I’ve recently left Portland, but hope that Beth and EDW are still around during my future visits.

Good wine selection, mixed experience with service… I prefer Bin 21 because she is consistent with good snacks, wine selection and service…

Love this casual neighborhood wine bar. Beth is knowledgable, helpful and super laid back. Although there were a couple months between our first and second visits, she remembered us. Since there is no food, you are encouraged to bring along snacks/dinner to enjoy along with your bottle of wine if you so choose. I have enjoyed each visit and look forward to going again.

What a great place this is. Excellent, clean facility. A good amount of space and a huge amount of really good wines to select from. But the gem of this place is the owner, Beth. She is very personable, knowledgeable and will remember you from previous visits. Every Day Wine doesn’t have any food, so I really like that you can bring your own food in here. If I recall, you can even get a pizza delivered here. I have enjoyed this place on dates, and in large groups where there has been a focus on a particular genre of food– and everyone brings a potluck item and drinks themed wine to match. I have also been here for birthday parties and friends going away parties. It has always been an excellent experience. Highly recommended.

Ladies and gentlemen. My first review of 2012. I’m a bit slow I guess. I quite enjoy it when my date comes up with the plan. I don’t always like to think. I don’t always like to think of where I want to go on a date. It is nice having someone that wants to think of somewhere to go. This girl did just that. She came up with Every Day Wine. I can’t say I normally go out to drink wine. When I go out there is usually more beer and occasionally some whisky(or whiskey if you prefer that spelling). If and when I drink wine it is usually within the comforts of my home, but I’m willing to spread my wings a bit if the company is right. The deal at Every Day Wine is you should bring your own food. I was under the(wrong) impression that a place that sells alcohol in Oregon has to offer some kind of food. Apparently it is only if they sell hard alcohol. This is something I did not know and I’ve been living here for more than 5 ½ years now. The moral of this story is bring your own food to Every Day Wine. The other deal here is that they have random bottles of wine open for single glass drinking(I quite enjoyed a glass of cote du rhone on this night for $ 7), but if you don’t like what they have on offer they will gladly open a bottle of your choosing(see the large wall of bottles) as long as it is under $ 30. Seems like what they offer they offer at pretty reasonably prices. No wine snobs here or at least none that I saw. Not a bad place for a date if you are looking for suggestions. Clearly I have nothing else to type.

My family and I hosted my Mother’s 60th here for about 40 of our family and friends and it was AmAzing! Beth was beyond accommodating, patient and professional during our planning process. She helped the whole evening run very smoothly. The space was perfect for our group, as we were able to reserve the whole space(on a saturday night!) We brought our own food and desserts, and then were wow-ed by the selection of wine all night long. Thanks Beth! Just wishing Seattle had such a great spot.

Very accommodating, and friendly. Great wine selection and very well priced. Had a larger group on a Saturday night and we were well taken care of. Very happy, would definately schedule another party there. Thank you Beth!

My wife hosted my 40th here a few hundred years ago, and the owner(Beth) was so cool we’ve been regulars ever since(although the wee toddler has cut into our bar time). I stopped in a few weeks ago, on a Fri afternoon, with some out of town friends, not to drink but simply to introduce them to Beth. We ended up killing a bottle and laughing a lot(not necessarily in that order). Here’s what’s good: Beth aims to keep affordable but really good wines on hand; in addition to her wines by the glass, the flights are great ways of going on mini-wine tours without prying your butt off the bar stool; Beth keeps a few beers and sparkling waters in her fridge for the non-wine-drinking guests; you can bring your own food — it’s encouraged.(Although Beth also will make blatant hints about being willing to try some of what you’ve brought, if it looks good and/or she’s hungry.) Here’s what’s great: Beth, first and foremost, is a dry-humored, down-to-earth, no-shit-taking host; second comes Porter, the gracefully aging black lab/ridgeback mix — he’s a prince among dogs; third would be that the assorted gang likely to be gathered around the bar often know each other by sight, and Beth knows them all by name. And finally, strangers come and go all the time and get folded into conversations quickly, or left to their own devices — it’s the least pretentious version of a wine bar I’ve ever seen. That combination of selection, zero pretense, and mellow company make this is a great place to chill.

Had my wife’s birthday party here a few weeks ago, and it was an amazing experience. The owner is very laid-back, and willing to accommodate most requests. Highly recommend having a party here, or just dropping in for some wine. Note that it’s usually more economical to buy a bottle than to purchase by the glass, so be sure to go with a friend or two and finish off the bottle!

I am a wine noob! I’m more of a hard liquor, cocktails, or beer kind of girl. Wines are usually last on my list unless someone opens a bottle or orders it for me. I met up with a couple of friends for the Friday night wine tasting. $ 12 gets you 5 different wines to taste. The tasting I went to featured zinfandels. Zinfandels? Like boxed wine? Like the cheap shit you get at WinCo? NO! It’s nothing like that! The wines for the tasting ranged from $ 12-$ 35 and I was impressed by the selection. Who knew zinfandel tasted so good! I overheard that the person serving us was Beth the owner. How awesome is it to mingle with the owner?! I really liked this place! I’m not a fan of wine snobs and this place is far from snobbery! Thank you Beth for being sooooo understanding. I’ll be sure to return to your wine bar in the very near future.
