First(and last) time at Floyd’s for me. Two stars for the coffee being good. Subtracting three stars for charging $ 3.50 for a 12oz cold brew when I can get more coffee(of equivalent quality) at Starbucks – and other coffee shops – for a similar price or get a 24oz at Starbucks for 50 cents more.

This place is really hit or miss. Sometimes you get a great cup of coffee. Today I ordered a 16oz latte. I watched the kid working pull the espresso and wait only until the shot was half finished before he put it in my coffee. I basically paid $ 4 for a glass of milk with a splash of espresso because the guy was too impatient to wait for the coffee to finish brewing. I love stumptown, but I’m going to stick to the coffee shop across the street. I’ve had too many bad experiences here.

Second time in Portland and this is my absolute favorite little coffee stand. Their drip is incredible! They also make this house breakfast burrito that is phenomenal, must have. Enjoy!

I’ve been here a few times over the years because I work in old town and there’s not a ton of coffee shops in the area. The venue is nice, it’d be a great place to hang out with friends, enjoy live music, or work on things if you don’t need a quiet environment. I can’t recommend the coffee or food though. It’s just not Portland quality and if you’re a coffee connoisseur they will disappoint. I’ve tried a few things on their lunch menu and for the price you could get twice the amount and quality if you hit up the food carts. I can’t say anything bad about them, but like the two star review says… «meh».

What horrible service! I waited 5 minutes before the guy working here even made eye contact. And he had a line of 7 people!

The service at this window seems to have really gone downhill. Not only was I asked what I’d like by a barista with a mouthful of food(who did not wash their hands before helping me), cursed in front of(just unprofesh), and then startled by a heavy metal ringtone, but the coffee was terrible(I didn’t trust the hygiene to ask for an espresso). I’m really not uptight… the cursing and ringtone would have been okay if anyone had been carrying themselves with any kind of professionalism and cleanliness. This is really not what I had gotten used to expecting… I don’t know what’s going on, but I don’t like it. Total bummer because it’s like a good coffee desert over here.

Pretty decent(Stumptown) coffee but they receive serious points off for a highly erratic approach to opening in the mornings. I stop by a few times a week but find(and this is anecdotal, to be sure) that the window fails to open at 7:00AM at least once or twice a month. On those occasions, I will usually linger for a bit and sometimes it’ll open within a few minutes, and sometimes… well, I wind up walking somewhere else for my morning cup. I’m finding more and more that I don’t even want to bother with this crapshoot so I just head to another coffee shop as my default. When your market is saturated and there are tons of options available to the consumer, you really can’t hobble yourself with spotty service(i.e., Running a Business 101). Step it up, Floyd’s.

Been all over downtown Portland for coffee and I wasn’t expecting Stumptown coffee from this little corner stand. As others mentioned, it’s a coffee wasteland in the surrounding area… Floyd’s is probably the best option in a 10 block circle around city hall.

First off, this is the Floyd’s that only does takeaway, right? These pictures are really throwing me off. This is the place with the hella long lines in the morning and the Stumptown coffee, right? Well, assuming it is, this place definitely serves a decent cup of coffee, or latte, or pretty much any coffee drink you want. Though the line here can get long and daunting, there’s a reason people come here instead of one of the several Starbucks in the area. The coffee here is better and they also have some legit breakfast food. I personally find Starbucks’ Boulangerie or whatever they call it kind of wimpy when it comes to breakfast nosh. Floyd’s has the real deal bagels and donuts: maple bars, everything bagels, old fashions, etc. Also, as advertised prominently, they have a vegetarian breakfast burrito which I thought was tasty(fluffy eggs, soyrizo and cheese) but hella expensive for a burrito I saw the barista microwave for 30 seconds before handing to me. I love a good microwaved burrito… but only when I’m buying 2 for $ 1 and not 1 for +/-$ 4. Sheesh All in all, Floyd’s is probably the best alternative to Starbucks that you can get in that 4 block radius.

FLOYD’S = SCORE! This is a mere half block away from my office. HOWCONVENIENT. Not only do they pull a fabulous shot o’ Stumptown, but they also serve breakfast burritos and most of you know how obsessed I am with those. This one, however, comes with SOYRIZO. Yup, you heard me. Soyrizo. And let me tell you, that fucker is delicious. Perfect size, perfect taste, perfect proportions. LILYHAPPY. Thank you, Floyd’s. For not only being so close, but for serving tasty burritos and for having the coolest staff ever. YOUMAKEMEHAPPY.

Love the coffee here(and their breakfast burritos are great too ~ eggs, salsa, cheese and veggie chorizo). I thought the burrito was the perfect breakfast portion. I especially appreciate the coffee art ~ it’s like a gift in my coffee cup. Barista was friendly.

Best coffee closest to work. Baristas are always friendly. Coffee is always Stumptown. It’s a walk-up window, but it is right across the street from Chapman and Lownsdale Squares, which are full of benches and as much of The Nature as you can expect in the heart of downtown. Sit, relax, enjoy the parks while you caffeinate. Try not to think of the recent park restoration price tag. After all, you’re in The Nature and you’re enjoying Stumptown coffee from Floyd’s. Ain’t life grand?

Stumptown. Nice pour. All drinks are 2 shots. Prices here are a bit higher than other nearby stops(City Coffee, Starbucks, Seattle’s Best Coffee, Caffe Viale). However, I had one of the smoothest two shot lattes I’ve had in a while. This gal really knew her stuff. If it were just a little more affordable, I’d visit more often. The other two locations of Floyd’s have great interior spaces if you’re looking to relax, meet up, or work over your coffee. This one has breakfast burritos and pastries available as well. No indoor seating, but I think you can use some of the Lotus Café’s tables during midday hours.

After a few bad cups of coffee at some of the nearby shops, I decided to try Floyd’s to see how they compared. What I found was a stiff cup of joe and one of the friendliest baristas I’ve ever met. Floyd’s may be a window, but what it lacks in seating it makes up for in service and product quality. As Michelle H. points out, Floyd’s not only features coffee, but baked goods and tasty veggie breakfast burritos. The only drawback: it’s expensive coffee, so you can blow a lot of cash in a week there, but at least you know you’ll be getting a true caffeine jolt, rather than hot brown water.
