This is our favorite park in town, or rather our toddler’s favorite park. This place is really great for toddlers and younger kids. There’s a nice little playground set, a big slide, and swings. The area around the playground is huge, so you don’t have to worry about your kid running into traffic. There’s plenty of benches and picnic tables to have a snack or watch the kids play. There’s also lots of trees around the perimeter so it’s shaded in the summer. Another awesome perk to this park is the location. Commonwealth Lake is right across the street and it’s full of ducks and geese, aka kid heaven! We always play at Foothills Park, walk halfway around the lake, stopping a hundred times to see all of the awesome wildlife, play at the other playground, and make our way back to Foothills Park. That’s right, on the other side of the lake there is another playground! That one has a really fun twisty slide and is a different structure all together. The entire area is a really beautiful place and there is tons of wildlife around. It’s the perfect way to enjoy a morning outside with an energetic toddler.

This playground is a perfect place to take toddlers and young children. The equipment is appropriately sized for very small kids and is all very well maintained. There are lots of picnic tables if you want to take a lunch or have a snack break. The playground is nestled into the hillside, so the natural contours of the area tend to keep your kids funneled away from the roads. There are ducks from the nearby Commonwealth Lake that are a little fearless, so you may want to look out for them if your kids get close. It’s also very close to Cedar Hills shopping so you can make a stop before and after running errands or getting groceries. It’s one of our go-to playgrounds in the area.
