I walked by Fuego the first time after I’d already had a disappointing lunch elsewhere and stood in line to ask questions about the food. While waiting in line, I witnessed the most entertaining lunch line I’d ever experienced. It was like these people were(and might have been) a bunch of regulars. They were raucous and just having a fantastic time waiting for their time. It was very appealing! The funny people left and I received my answers and went to lunch there the following day. I went around 1130am on a weekday and there was no line. I had the chicken bowl with what was supposed to be spicy salsa and sour cream. The chicken was flavorful although it leaned towards being bland, and freshly grilled. The salsa was not even close to being spicy — or enough to make the dish interesting. The beans and rice were fine although there were far too little of each. I’m going to make the anti statement and say there was too much chicken. The proportions were way off. If I just wanted chicken, I wouldn’t have ordered a bowl with rice and beans. I imagine that is supposed to please the customer but it just made for a so-so chicken bowl. The prices are incredibly reasonable and the portions are good. Prices for the two sizes of bowls/burritos range from $ 5.25−6.75 and they are open 11 – 2, M-F year ’round. I think next time I go, and I will, I will order the veggie bowl and ask them to add chicken and more salsa and maybe try the guacamole. Hopefully, things will be better proportionally. They do have a punchcard. You can get new ones UNDER the index card container. It’s a buy ten, get one free deal and seems like it’s worthwhile to have that extra little piece of paper in your wallet.

Watched the girl make the food for the three people in line ahead of me as well as mine. She did not wash her hands once. The chicken was cold, I took two bites and asked her to throw it away for me. I still paid and tipped her! She gave me attitude and told me never to come back or she would spit in my food. I didn’t even complain! Just simply asked her to throw it away for me. Will not eat at any of these stands or recommend them to anyone. She was a set girl in her mid/late 30s with blond hair, I think her name was Sara as well… giving us Saras a bad rap eh??

The burritos here are fast, hefty, and relatively cheap. You can opt for a whole wheat tortilla instead of a white flour one, and plain yogurt instead of sour cream, if you like. Guacamole costs extra, but it’s good. I like that I can fill out my order slip and just hand it to the gal who’s assembling my food, and if it’s not too busy we can chat about all the freaky goings-on around Pioneer Square while she does it.

I walk by this food cart nearly everyday on my way to work and finally decided to try it out today. This is one food cart that should not be passed by. I ordered the chicken bowl and it was absolutely amazing! The chicken was delicious and the rice cooked to perfection. The girl who served me totally hooked it up and she was chill and friendly! I highly suggest you try one of the chicken bowls here the next time you’re in the area. By far one of the best food carts I’ve been to!

This burrito was just OK. The grilled chicken was tasty, but a little overcooked for my liking. I paid extra to add guacamole and cheese; overall, it got the job done, but if I’m being honest, I’d give my money to Chipotle for a chicken burrito craving!

Yum!!! I have eaten 1,000 burritos from this exact cart. I can’t get enough. Big fat cheap healthy burritos. And this woman who makes them is always funny and fast. We love her.

Pleasantly surprised. The«small» burrito is very filling and made before your eyes with fresh ingredients. There is nothing amazing about this burrito that sets it apart in the burrito world, but it is a damn good burrito none the less. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is usually very friendly. A great option at lunchtime and a much better choice for a variety of reasons than a «big box» burrito. Hard to beat fresh, delicious, and local.

Good food! I got mine in a bowl and the chicken, beans and rice were all perfectly cooked! My only compaint is that they have no veggies to offer… Knocked a point off because when I got back to work I realized she left off an ingredient I requested on my little slip. Otherwise, great little cart and friendly service!

These guys are as cool as human beings can get. Super courteous, hard working; just genuinely nice people. I appreciate the option of having a healthier choice near my work place, as most places around the Lloyd Center are of the not-so-good-for-you variety. Oh yeah, did I mention, it’s delicious food as well? So, if you want a REALLY quick bite of healthier nosh, that’s pretty cheap, tastes good and is served up by some chill guys, this is your place.

My favorite burrito cart downtown. Not authentic, but excellent food. They use dark meat, which is my preference. A few times the beans have not been fully cooked, but great food. The homeless youths hanging out around the cart can be aggressive and have stolen money from people, but that is downtown Portland. We love young criminals and encourage them to harass the locals. It is what keeps us weird.

Between a rock and a hard place — Qdoba on one side and Chipotle on the other. This cart’s got it tough on the competition when it comes to burritos. I ordered the small vegetarian burrito with an invisible tortilla. I added spicy salsa and guacamole. Now rice can be pretty bleh in a burrito generally. I mean it’s just starch basically and I think it’s just filling to make a burrito bigger. Whenever I order burritos anywhere I always ask to just give me a scoop of rice, if that. At any rate, his rice was pretty wholesome, not brown rice that tastes like white. His black beans were creamy, and the guacamole was as well. He makes it without any additional ingredients so you get the full avocado flavor and he’s generous with the scoop. The spicy salsa had a little kick to it and was definitely of the homemade variety. Maybe Qdoba and Chipotle got their work cut out for them.

Awesome burrito! I hit up this cart about once a week. The burrito is well-made, the ingredients are fresh and the service is always fast and friendly. If you like spicy, I highly recommend the habanero salsa which has great heat and flavor. Amazingly, it’s one of the best burritos I’ve had in Portland. Oh, and I go to the one on SW4th near City Hall.

Best darn fusion burritos in town. It’s like the northwest take on the burrito. Cheap, excellent. Try it.

If you’re downtown PDX for lunch, you absolutely must try the Fuego cart at Pioneer Square. Now there are several Fuego carts downtown, and they’re all good, but when you go to the Pioneer Square cart, your burritos are made with that extra ingredient– love. Sprinkle a dusting of that on top of juicy chopped & grilled chicken, black beans, shredded cheese, fresh salsa and some organic spinach, and you’ve got yourself one lip-smackin’ delicacy. Of course there are other accoutrements you can get on the burrito, but I’m just describing to you the ones I like. Because. Best part of all, the damn thing is actually pretty healthy considering what you usually eat for lunch. Yeah, I’m talking to you. Anyway, if you’re in the area, try one today… and if you’re not, well, now you know why they say life isn’t fair. Drunk Monkey eat way too much Fuego, but is nonetheless pleased!

My favorite burrito cart downtown! I’ve gone to the other carts and they don’t compare. Healthy and fresh! All the ingredients taste incredibly fresh and you feel good after eating it. You walk away full and feeling as though you just ate something really good but healthy as well. If you like yours spicy ask for extra salsa because they are on the milder side.

Flippin’ Fantastic. I had it for the first time about a week ago and again for lunch today… consistent so far. The grilled chicken(just enough ‘grill’ flavor) burrito is perfect when blessed with a few shakes from the gallon of Tapatio they keep handy. Great portion/price ratio, not too messy for eating on the run, and you feel really healthy even after having the large, which I think may weigh in around three pounds. If they would put Barbacoa on the menu I would never go to Chipotle again.

Fuego burrito is the cart that was here before carts were cool. There are a few of them downtown, which is great, because each job that I have had in my career has been near one. They are affortable, quick, and quite good. You customize your burrito while waiting in line, and the line moves quick. I reccomend getting a chicken burrito with yogurt(instead of sour cream), cheese, and asian sweet chili sauce. It sounds kind of weird, but it is amazing flavor wise. As carts have multiplied downtown, the fuego burito sometimes seems a bit boring. But it is not greasy, it is fast, and it is close to many downtown office buildings. I reccomend it.

This has been a steady contender for my daily lunch fair choices for the past probably 6 or so years. The quality(and size) of the burritos seems to have started to vary over the last 2 years but it’s still a great burrito. The chicken is grilled, in front of you, fresh every day and is awesome. They fill your choice of flour or wheat tortilla with your choice from their several options(guac, sour cream, sauces: chipotle, tapitio, and at least one more). They’ll load you up with cheese, rice, and black beans. The small is a meal in itself and if you’re feeling the need for a bit more food in your gut you can go large for like less than a buck more. The line tends to move pretty quick and the server/cart tender is always down for chatting. People that have never seen a Fuego always stare in amazement at the sheer size of the burrito. It’s a must try item for between $ 5 – 6.

There are a few of these carts on wheels around town. This is not the one I ate at. The one I ate at is across from my office on NW2nd and Davis. Burritos are the name of the game here. Small or large. Flour or wheat tortilla. Chicken or veggie. The list goes on. I decided to order the large. Gut bomb I tells ya, but in a good way. This thing might be bigger than some newborn babies. Loaded with chicken, rice, beans and all the other good stuff that might go into ones burrito plus the guacamole that I paid an extra 75 cents for(25 additional cents for the wheat burrito) this thing was huge and only $ 7. It tasted like a burrito. That is a good thing. The chicken was very tender and the girl who made it took her time and really seemed to have the whole thing down to a science. Side note about the girl who made the burrito. Super cute. I’m a sucker for girls who wear glasses. It says so on the side of my profile, so it must be true. Get your punch card. Buy 10 burritos, get one free. Who says there is no such thing as a free lunch?

I’m a big time fan. Great burritos with a Portland touch. Steamed tortilla that is always wrapped perfectly. I love the brown rice and the chicken is really tasty.
