That one chick with the short black hair and goofy laugh is THESHIT! Girl knows her drinks, fast, efficient, friendly and cute., always greets you with a smile and hello as soon as you walk through the door. I love this place. Karmen’s vibe is what will bring me back.

Best neighborhood bar one can ask for. The food is some of the best in the area.

The veggie meatloaf sandwich and homemade tomato basil soup was delicious. The staff were super nice and helpful. Was there on a Monday night and enjoyed trivia and the other bar patrons in attendance. This place is the closest I’ve ever come to finding the Cheers bar.

Your classic neighborhood pub. A very inviting atmosphere and some decent bar food. You can tell some of the patrons have special rapport with the servers. Folks that have probably been coming here for years. I had the Reuben sandwich and it was pretty excellent. Also of note, for us Midwestern transplants, they have cornhole aka«bags» available here!

Definitely one of our favorite places. Clam chowder Friday’s are awesome, this chowder can’t be beat! Always good beer on tap and great bartenders who make excellent cocktails. You know who you are!

Realest neighborhood bar in town. Very refreshing & comfortable. Perfect example of a place in Portland that I’m hesitant to praise for fear of Cali’s ruining it, though it seems impossible.

The Pub is like an old ‘hole in the wall’ from back home in wisconsin. I love the fact that all the bartenders are beyond awesome — it totally has the feel of a neighborhood bar… ‘Where everybody knows your name’. I love it!

They might have the best Clam Chowder on the planet. This is no joke. Their chowder is awesome. In fact, there soups are just awesome. I decided to write this post after having a bowl of their beer cheese soup on Sunday. The food is really good and they have a great beer selection. My favorites are: Super Turkey Melt, Rueben and the BBQ chicken quesadilla. I’m a creature of habit so I try to go on Fridays or Saturdays when they have the Clam Chowder. The waitresses are all super friendly and it’s a great pub vibe in there. I hear their Bloody Mary’s are killer but have yet to partake. I highly recommend you stop on by!

New to the neighborhood and decided to check it out. The service was PHENOMENAL! Felt like part of the family, which is rare in a bar. A lot of bartenders in Portland can be pretentious, but of the 2 visits we had all 5 employees were extremely friendly. Especially, Tony! Just went tonight and you can tell he loves what he does. The music is also a huge plus, a little bit of everything awesome plays. Of the two visits we all ordered food and loved it! I would say the food is better than what you would expect from a bar.

One of those places where you don’t want too many people to find out about it… For fear that it will get too busy. Stellar service and delicious food. The burger was the best I’ve had ever! The perfect neighborhood place! It’s not fancy — it’s cozy and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised today at how great it was. It was my first time in today. Kind of like a McMenamins only with much better food and service. We’ll be back.

Great people! Fun to sit with friends and watch a sports game. Best chowder on Friday nights! Also order a blueberry stolli lemonade with strawberry purée. So bomb. Also pretty good service considering how they have few employees and tons of customers. They have trivia nights! They have shots!

We’ve had some fun at this place but it’s definitely nothing special. If you’re looking for a place to grab a quick drink with a friend, it’s ok. The food is very lackluster and leaves me agreeing with some of the other reviewers, that I could probably make half of it at home. They’re nachos seem like they’re tricked out with a lot of ingredients, but it’s really just melted cheese on seemingly store bought tortilla chips, and maybe meat. We’ve also been semi-sick after eating any of their burgers :/Not sure what’s going on there, but it’s pretty consistent. If I were you, I’d steer clear of the burgers if you’re there to eat. I’ve gotten a sandwich before that was pretty good, i think it’s called The Grubber.(Mainly good because it didn’t make us sick, not really worth what they charge). And again, one of the sides is potato chips… not terrible but you spend a fair amount on a sandwich, you usually expect fries or something more involved. They also make a pretty good Bloody Mary, I’d recommend that if you do go there(one of the only redeeming qualities though). All in all, we’ve been there before, but if you have choices on where to go out that night, I’d skip this place.(Cbar’s right down the street!) Side note: Scrolling through a couple of reviews, it’s strange to see a business owner talking rudely to customers who were not satisfied… really a turn off when someone is looking on here to possibly support your business…

Great neighborhood pub with awesome burgers and drafts– if you’re in there Friday nights, the bartender may just croon a lil something for you as well.

Love this place! It’s down the street from our house. We try to go at least once a week. The service, food and ambience is terrific for a neighborhood pub. We loved trivia night. First time doing it and it was a blast. My only suggestion is to revisit the tap list offerings. I’d love to see some more daring stuff like a DIPA, imperial stout, maybe an American strong ale. Something other than what you can get anywhere in Portland. You’d have my undying loyalty then!!! Keep up the great work folks!

The first time I ate at The Stone I knew I wanted to be a regular. It’s pub food, but better. They don’t have a fryer, which concerns some people I know, it is easily my favorite neighborhood haunts.

I recently moved much closer to Gladstone St Pub. I had seen it from the sandwich place up the st. It had a nice look about it. I heard they had cornhole too. Tried it out last week. It’s most definitely going to be on the rotation. There’s not really one special thing that makes GSP great, it’s just a lot of little things. Friendly service, plenty of outdoor seating, nice cozy indoor space, decent sports watching possibilities are some of it. Very relaxed crowd, no obvious idiots about. The hamburger I had didn’t look like much, but it tasted delicious. The tap list was decent, gin and tonics were very solid. I wouldn’t characterize GSP as a dive, because it’s not dirty and grungy enough to be a dive. It’s a great neighborhood pub that I’m glad I live near to.

A very solid neighborhood bar with better than average food. There is a decent amount of outdoor seating(2 tables in front, ~5 on side) and there was cornhole being played outside. The food prices averages around $ 8.50 which is a tad cheaper than the competition in Westmoreland. Buffalo Chicken Nacho — A little light on chicken but heavy on real cheddar cheese and blue cheese. Also, quite a generous portion. «Super» Turkey Melt — Okay, I am pretty sure we accidentally were served the standard turkey melt because there was no avocado or red peppers but it was still quite delicious.

How could you not like a bar with a dog named Charlie that sits at the bar? Ok, Charlie is probably not there all the time, but he was on my first visit. We didn’t even see him until we sat at the bar. I thought it was just a hairy kid out of my peripheral vision. Clearly I was wrong. There is more to the Gladstone Street Pub than Charlie. Believe it or not. It just seemed like a good bar with a laid back vibe. The food smelled really good, but Sue and I were just there for beers. Pretty good tap selection, nice staff and comfortable bar stools make it a place that I would hang out in more often if I lived in this part of town. Color me jealous as I don’t have a place like this in my neck of Portland.
