We actually came to this location for breakfast(in the morning this place is «Seastar Bakery»), saw they had a cool wood oven in there and learned they made pizza in the afternoons/evenings(as «Handsome Pizza»). So we came back another evening to try the pizza. We had the«Steve Lieber» and it was excellent. We’ll be back to try the others.

Very cool relaxing pizza and bakery. Do I get pizza or baked stuff? Hum, why not both! We highly recommend this place.

Pizza is the new it thing in Portland. Love you can order at the counter woodfired goodness from 12 to 22 inches. Also you can do takeout! Kale salad w apples filling and excellent for two served in vintage bowl of your mom’s era. Baked goods and breakfast also served. Another gem along w la taq and pondhas in the Killingsworth strip.

It’s pretty rare that I like a place so much, it becomes the new standard for which I hold everything else against. But, rarities do exist, and Handsome Pizza is one of them. With so many food fired oven pizza places throughout Portland, the competition is fiery(see what I did there?). Anyway. I almost didn’t even TRY this place because I was like omg ANOTHER pizza place? EYEROLL. So over it. But this place is only a few blocks from my house(double yeah) and sucker that I am, I like trying new places. Turns out I’m NOT a sucker because the pizza is SOGOOD. It’s taken the reigns away from Nostrana and PREAM as my new favorite pizza in Portland. I can’t say much about the space as we actually got the pizza for takeout, but I’ve walked by several times and it looks cozy and comfortable. Next time, I’ll go back for the full experience.

Been a fan for a long time. I, like other reviewers, miss the ice cream though…

I would’ve given 3.5 stars but rounded up to 4, it wasn’t outstanding but it was a really solid pizza. A relaxed atmosphere, and counter service was friendly. Definitely not cheap, $ 26 for a large pizza. We got The Di Fara(tomato sauce, mozz, parm, basil, olive oil add sausage). Not the best pizza I’ve ever had, but it was pretty good. Good quality sausage, basil and cheese, but the crust could’ve been better. They also have tasty lattes. I ordered a vanilla latte while waiting for our pizza, and was very pleased with it. Will be returning!

Awesome, hand-tossed, wood-fired pizza made with fresh, local ingredients, by a top-notch crew of pizzaioli. Great salads, too; and the fire-roasted vegetables, if you can get them, with the red pepper putanesca, are amazing! Nice selection of local brews on tap as well, plus unique and yummy goodies from Seastar bakery, which operates in the same space.

After receiving a kind and thoughtful response from the owner, I wanted to check this place out again. It was much better the second time around: The pizza crust and tomato sauce were much more flavorful than before, and the pie was fully enjoyable. The salad was hands-down awesome. The food came out quickly, and the place felt clean and organized. I’ve also been back a *few* times for the Seastar cookies. Soooo good! Worth a stop just for a high-quality treat made with interesting, wholesome ingredients. I am now a solid fan. :)

LOVEIT. Great food, amazing smells, cozy atmosphere, sick music, wonderful people. I am going to regret this review because now all of you are going to go and I’m going to have to wait in line, but I love the company, so I guess it’s worth it.

Good hybrid of Neapolitan-style pizza and NYC style pizza. Great addition to the neighborhood. Wish they could crank out the pies a bit quicker, but I get it that it’s because they’re busy. All in all, a great spot.

Smells amazing, line out the door. Watch the whole kitchen as they cook. Their crust is unbelievable.

Handsome pizza is my favorite pizza place in town. There is usually a line at night, but trust me, it’s worth the wait.

The pizza at Handsome is amazing. I’ve been waiting for them to reopen since they closed their N PDX location. The new location did not disappoint! Their salads are fresh and unique and the pizza has top notch ingredients with the most flavorful sauce! Beyond happy to have Handsome in the neighborhood.

I went to my neighborhood pizza spot very excited to finally find a place I love by my house. This was yet again a disappointment. I got 2 slices of pepperoni, the daily special and a slice of cheese. The pepperoni was small and barley there. The sauce and taste was bland and the crust was just there and black in spots. My wife had the same thoughts on her pepperoni slice and daily special. I was wanting this place to be the great new spot but I think I will have to keep looking.

Sunday dinner. Always a problem. Energy is low from the weekend and will is sapped by the impending return to work. Don’t wanna cook, don’t wanna go anywhere. It’s these times that web-ordered food is worth the fees. But, I recall, we’ve been wanting to try Lonesome, no, Handsome Pizza. It’s not far away, let’s do that. Yeah! Ehhhhh. It’s bland. There’s just other way to describe it. The crust is nicely crispy but it doesn’t taste like much of anything. There doesn’t seem to be any sauce, just tomatoes rubbed across on it. I got a small cheese for $ 9 and added pepperoni for $ 2 or $ 3. Even the pepperoni was underwhelming. Everybody was nice, the counter guy volunteered they could split pies, which is a nice change from Portland hipster anti-service. I’ll probably be back. Especially if they get some salt.

I used to eat at Handsome Pizza at it’s old location and have missed it severely. I was pleased to find it again. The pizza is amazing. All of the pizzas have a creative blend of flavors that leave me feeling happy every time. The service and atmosphere are great. I love the new location even though it is farther away from my work. Totally worth the drive. I only have 2 complaints. The hours. 12 – 7? No evening pizza, and I’m used to taking lunch from 11:30 –12:30. Why not open at 11 and close at 9 or 10? Complaint number 2 — I miss the awesome ice cream that was next door to the old place.

Killer woodfired pizza. Some of the best I’ve had and I’m from CT– the land of great pizza. Warning though– the place seems like it is still getting itself sorted out(we waited over an hour for our pizzas while tons of people walked by to get their carryout??). We will go back in a few weeks to see if logistics are better.

Hip new neighborhood joint. Good service, awesome vibe. The Chris Walas pizza was outstanding. Salads were outstanding. The others that we tried were tasty too. Not the best pizza ever, but decent. The crust would benefit from a ferment(sourdough), and the tomato sauce needs some oomph. It was good, but I can’t say that I’d go out of my way to eat there again.

Great neighborhood pizza place. I enjoyed the pizza but the wait was what seemed like forever! We waited nearly 40 minutes for a pizza while the table behind us had theirs 10 minutes before us. Maybe it was an off day? I plan on going again because the pizza was really good

Excellent wood fired pizza. Just as good as the previous location, with the added bonuses of a bigger space and the stellar creations of Seastar bakery(whom operates in the space in the morning). Great beer selection and local sourcing to boot :).
