It would be hard to ask for more from a co-working space. It’s an inspirational, comfortable space with many conversation areas and diverse working spaces. I run a user-centered design agency(Experience Lab). We are anchor tenants and it’s a great location for a small team. The real differentiators from similar co-working options is the comfortable environment and the smart, accessible staff committed to supporting independently owned businesses like ours in many ways.

Hatch is a great co-working space with a very aspirational feel, perfect for emerging businesses, with it’s large atrium. What Hatch has that few shared working spaces have is tiered costs depending on what kind of space you want. There are comfy chairs, tables and bar workspaces, as well as some private meeting rooms for phone calls or small meetings. There are multiple membership levels from 5 days a week up to a month. Members get free access to all the workshops given by various professionals that help support businesses. You can hold events here and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it. The Ocean restaurant cluster is right around the corner.

I attended their grand opening and signed up on the spot. Amy, the staff, the board, the members and tenants are all wonderful people to rub elbows with. The physical space is by far the best co-working space in the Portland area. Every week they add new workshops and events. I have maintained a dormant Meetup group for Social Entrepreneurs for two years so when Hatch opened, I had no excuse to neglect the very subject I believe to be the only hope for the vast majority of working American’s in the future. Little people building local sustainable social enterprises with the support of one another is the best path to a healthy, happy, and financially secure way to live and to build our future society. If building businesses that care about employees and communities matter to you, then come visit Hatch and attend one of my Social Entrepreneurs — PDX Meetups. and find out what this is all about.
