This place has been great for me! They’re always friendly, and they get the business done efficiently and professionally. I wish I didn’t need to go to any pawnshop, but once in awhile I have a cash flow crunch, so I’m glad they’re there!

I had a seamless flawless transaction. Will return and recommend. Helpful courteous people. Great stock of EVERYTHING for sale. If you can’t find one thing you didn’t know you were looking for you don’t get out much. Jk Thanks

Called twice and the guy answered the phone and hung up on me twice before I could say a word. Called again and without saying a word he said please don’t call here again. Very strange.

I purchased a bass guitar from these Goons on eBay. They aren’t very good at this and they made many mistakes. First they aren’t sure what delivery service they use. They told me the item was coming to me via USPS, then they said it was being delivered by UPS and they gave me a tracking number that didn’t work with any carrier on Earth. They totally F’d that up and I was never able to track the package. Plus, they never responded to my requests for a correct number. Finally, when the bass arrived, the box was crunched real bad. The UPS driver made a note of it and told me if the item was damaged, the shipper would need to file a damage claim. I opened the box and found the bass in a softshell case floating around inside the box. Way to go, guys… great packing job… morons! When I opened the case, the bass had taken a hard hit that had broken the volume knob. Pieces and parts were loose inside the case. I took pictures and sent them to these Bozos with a request for a damage claim. Nothing. No response whatsoever. Ebay is partly to blame at this point because they told me to wait for the seller to respond. Oh, great, good idea. They NEVER responded until I was finally able to open a trouble ticket with eBay and explained the issue in detail. What did the Bozos do? They sent the correct UPS tracking number!!! That did me no good. The item had already arrived in DAMAGEDCONDITION!!! I told them I needed to file a damage claim. They ignored the whole affair and then eBay tells me that it’s past the time for them to file a claim with UPS. So, I’m left holding the broken bass and these IDIOTS don’t give a Flying Fugh! If I lived in the Portland area, I would drive by and throw a bucket of chicken shit through their window. ASSHOLES!!!

Now I have never bought a gun, but I sold a camera once, and the place I sold it to was Hawkers Locker. The place is a little bit like a prison: bars on the windows, fenced in with that circular, spiky crap on top of the fence. Inside it is similar(if prisons bought and sold a bunch of crap that is), dirt on the floor, old, rusty, useless crap everywhere, and a nice rack full of guns(for a good review on the guns at Hawkers, see Walter S.‘s review from 3⁄15 of this year). If you live at my house it is withing walking distance which is nice, but other than that luxury there is not much more. They are pretty by the book, probably using stolen internet access, and most likely have a «back room» for those«little intricacies» that don’t belong up front. This is purely speculation, however. If you ever go in there and buy a Nikon cool-pix camera, that thing used to be mine. It is pretty solid, with a nice screen on the back, but luxuries are for the birds, or people too. Do you like movies? Cause I own a couple you’d probably like.

Please note that my reviews of pawn shops primarily relate to my experience shopping for or buying firearms. I’ve bought one gun at Hawkers Locker and it was a good experience all around. They tend to have the largest rifle/shotgun selection of any pawn shop in Portland. 99 Pawn has a much better and more competitive selection of handguns, but Hawkers Locker by far rules the long gun selection. The prices generally suck but, this is one of those shops where the sticker is dramatically high to make you feel like an all star for getting $ 25 off. Haggle. Depends on the gun, but, haggle. If you don’t haggle for your gun here, you’re a sucker. Haggle damn you. Haggle.
