The food is freakin’ delicious. Is it a bar? Yes. Is it great bar food? No – it’s just great food, period. I had the BBQ brisket burger. Fully juicy, very well balanced flavors. Big recommend!!!

This is my second time here and Ive had a good experience both times. I got to try a few different things so I did see the good quality and presentation were consistent. 4.5 stars overall. The Mozzarella Stick BLT($ 10) was delicious and of good quality. This wasn’t typical restaurant/bar food, this was well made. The fries were ok and above average. The mac n cheese(as a side) was awesome and worth the $ 2 upcharge. The Cowboy Burger looked awesome when it came out(see the picture), but it did taste dry, so I wouldn’t get it again. The Volcano burger was pretty spicy for my taste, but it was tasty. Our group was treated very well by the staff and cooks, so that was also a bonus. The beers on tap and happy hour looked good, so hopefully I can come again.

Got a chance to hit this place today on a crowded night. This kids friendly and though a mini pub, it’s a good place to hangout with family or friends. We started off with Pork Nachos which was excellent. Oregon burger was crispy inside and tasted good. Sirloin steak was an Average affair. Drawback in both I felt was blue cheese sauce which didn’t go well with both of them. Mashed garlic potatoes also didn’t taste that fresh. Overall 3⁄5. Service and ambience was decent enough to send a good evening

Great happy hour spot and the best part? It goes until 7 pm. Food is great, burgers are huge and the sliders on the happy hour menu are delicious and decent size– overall a great value. The ribs on happy hour are a must. For $ 10 you get 4 decent sized ribs and a heaping serving of mashed potatoes. The ribs seriously melt off the bone and the potatoes are actually homemade and not that instant crap. My only grip is the cocktails. For some reason none of them do it for me. I’ve had a few of their specialty cocktails, their happy hour hot toddy($ 4 but didn’t taste very good) and just regular well cocktails. They are just too weak for my liking and I don’t care for the flavor combos on their specialty ones. In the future I will just stick to the beer choices, which seems to rotate a bit. Servers are very friendly and actually kind of fun. There’s a ping pong table, few other bar games and a few tables for larger groups. If you call ahead they will save you a spot for your larger group. Being just off Belmont parking can be hit or miss, there seems to be a lot of apartments in the area but a few laps around the block you should be able to find something.

Great undiscovered spot that me and my date had a fun time AND I created my own beer blend! Our bartender/waiter Wayne(?) was handsome and friendly! Plus my Sloppy Nob was juicy, spicy, and tender! Great find!

I’m going to momentarily revert back to Courtney, age 3, and say… YUCKY! I was totally into this place when I walked in; it had a cool, semi-divey feel and there were board games everywhere. I thought it was a match made in heaven, because what could be better than booze, board games and burgers TOGETHER? Maybe the burgers are good. Maybe I simply made a HUGE mistake ordering the BBQ plate. I’ve had some amazing BBQ in my lifetime, some good BBQ and some«eh, decent» BBQ. This was really. bad. BBQ. The ribs, the brisket, the pulled pork: all dry, all under-seasoned, all a huge disappointment. The mac & cheese side was glorified noodles in a light creamy cheese water. Oh, and I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the gravy that came with our fried mushroom appetizer(I was skeptical when we ordered them, and it turns out I was right to be). The gravy was utterly flavorless. I could SEE pepper, but I certainly couldn’t taste it… or anything else. I ended up eating only a couple of the mushrooms and forgoing the gravy(I used some Chalula, my flavor friend ’til the end). Needless to say, we ate less than ¼ of the food we ordered and were offered to-go boxes that we ended up chucking shortly after we left the place. That was one of the most tasteless wastes of $ 50 I’ve ever experienced. So, two stars… why? Because the place was cool, the server was kind, and if I hadn’t tried the food, I’d probably go back. Bah.

Fun low key bar without the tween hipster vibe infecting other nearby bars. Bears fans welcome here! We had a good round of burgers and sliders here. The buffalo chicken burger is amazing! We also like the brunch here. Good prices without 1 hr waits for some top chicken and waffles and some solid egg dishes.

Great spot in my old neighborhood that my wife and I just discovered. The Nob has some great daily drink specials and happy hour menu. We had some of the hand cut fries and house-ground steak burger sliders that were quite tasty. It’s more of a sports-bar than what we were looking for, but it’s a nice spot. All the seating is by the windows, which is nice for people-watching and there are three sidewalk tables, too. Parking can be a little bit of a bitch, and service was very friendly but a bit slow, but then again, they were pretty busy. The only thing I wold have to say in the negative is that it’s super noisy inside and we could hardly hear each other to converse over dinner and drinks even though we were sitting right next to each other.

I went here tonight because it’s National Cheeseburger day. After perusing their menu I set myself up for the Volcano burger($ 14.99) without bacon since I’m allergic to pork.(And it’s disgusting.) I explained that I didn’t want any bacon when I ordered and the server informed me that they do the unthinkable; they put ground bacon in the beef patties! The horror! Unfortunately since I was set on eating a cheeseburger in light of the holiday we were forced to go to the Belmont Inn around the corner where they don’t put bacon in their beef patties. I may come back here just to try the catfish on a day that doesn’t require me to eat cheeseburgers. And if it’s good I’ll update the number of stars but it will never get a full 5 stars until they stop using pork in the beef(or give the option to not have it) — I’m not opposed to other people eating pork but putting it into another meat is just mean to those of us who can’t eat pork for various reasons and severely limits their menu; they didn’t even mention on the menu that the beef was infected with bacon so I wasted 30 mins looking over the menu before having to leave once we decided.

Amazing food, drinks, and service. Everything is made from scratch and they have a super fun draft beer and cocktail list. Servers and bartenders are fun and playful, yet attentive and quick.

Great bar off of Belmont, so slightly more quiet. GREAT service and very hospitable bartender. We just moved a few blocks from Belmont, and this will definitely become a ‘go-to’ spot for great services, drinks, and food.

Was here a couple of weeks ago for my friends birthday dinner. A group of 8 of us met there for drinks and dinner. It was everyones first time there. Easy to find, I got street parking not even a block away. There’s outdoor seating, shaded which was nice, but it was so hot we opted to sit inside at a corner table. I was greeted right away by the nice staff that worked there. They knew our reservation by name and had our table ready. I was early because I went straight from work to meet the birthday girl for a drink before the others arrived. We lucked out with our server– who was such a hoot! I’m terrible with names, but I even asked on our way out because I wanted to write a nice review about him and how he went above and beyond to entertain our group and checking in on how we were doing. Sweetheart of a guy, he made our dining experience there great. I ordered the pulled pork nachos. How could I resist? They were good. I did not share. The burger looked darn good too. Huge! Great fries– I’m a fry person. My boyfriend ordered the chicken wings, he doesn’t do spice well, but he survived it haha. They were good! I’d love to come back soon, wether it’s for a meal or just a drink, I can see myself meeting a group of people there again. Easy meeting spot if you’re in a big group. Full bar, good food, great happy hour deals! Wish it were closer to home darn it, I’d be there pretty often I’m sure. They have ping pong table, 2 pinball machines… darts– I think? I’ll be back soon and I’ll recommend this spot to others!

«She don’t look like much but she’s got it where it counts kid.» — Han Solo That’s right, this place is so awesome I quoted Han Solo to start a review of it. She don’t look like much but boy they do breakfast right. While everywhere else in town has a line for breakfast wrapping down the street this place had immediate seating. They deserve the lines, most of the others do not as they have substandard breakfast fare in my opinion. Top reason to go here. PORTLAND’s BESTHASHBROWNS! If you are a fan of hash browns(and if you aren’t why are you reading my review) this is a place you MUSTTRY. Bird nests of hashed browned crispyness. They serve up their hash browns after being fried in a cast iron skillet transforming the simple shredded potato into a wicker like basket of breakfasty potato amazingness. I’ve never had a hash brown like it and it makes you wonder if you can pull it off at home. Their people care about your food, they aren’t overly fancy or trying to hard. That’s what their food says to me. I did a simple breakfast. Classic, eggs, sausage patty, potato, biscuit and a side of gravy to go with it. Simply excellent. Their sausage is done in-house supposedly and not weird look at us Portland in-house but I would buy this at New Seasons good. I love this place. Love their full bar. They also encourage beer with breakfast so no judging there on a Saturday morning. Also a special note to the service by the staff and the fact in this day and age of attitude at breakfast places they are like your grandmas kitchen. They are there to serve with a friendly atmosphere, they have a job to do and they do it well. Also, corny witty t-shirts. An extra star for that.

Super casual neighborhood pub tour joint. Complete with indoor ping pong and a few big screens to watch sports ball. Full bar and around a dozen taps of quality beers. They’ve got daily food and drink specials and a generously long happy hour(4 – 7). The good is your typical pub grub – wings and sliders and burgers and such. The staff are attentive and friendly. Now really, what else do you need?

When bar food is done properly, it is awesome. Sadly, most bars don’t bother. Hobnob does. Their bar food kicks ass all over the place. The staff is friendly. It’s kind of like Cheers in there except instead of Sam and Dianne and Woody you’ve got a merry band of affable perverts of various sexual orientations. Without question the best burgers in Portland. They grind the meat themselves and will even double up a paddy so it is extra thick so it can be seared outside and raw in the middle, just the way Jesus would want it. That preparation has become known as «Dean’s Way.» You’re welcome, Portland. Wings are solid. Cheese sticks are hand breaded and amazing. Frankly, there’s little to not love(OK, the«fried pies» aren’t all that lovable, but you really don’t need dessert here anyhow). This place nails it. Update: On the weekend, they serve brunch until 2:00. I was originally sad to not be able to get a burger at noon, but after trying the Chicken and Waffles, there’s no need for a breakfast burger. The hits keep coming.

Time for a psychedelic trip down the gray brick road of Belmont to Morrison. Jump on up on the Hob’s Nob and take a tasty trip down a meat-y street. If you’re lucky enough to get the bearded bartender, you’re in for some soulful eye candy. I’ve had the pulled pork nachos, which are quite a treat, light on the dairy, heavy on the meat. I’ve also chomped down the Cowboy Burger, a hearty dreamscape of beef patty, jack cheese, groovy bbq sauce and exotic fried onions, a reverie for the tongue! Drinks are friendly and so are the staff! Jump on down, get real bold, try the treats, it’s been foretold!

I’ve walked by this place a few times, thinking that it would be a place I’d go to, then I’d forget about it. I walked by it again, and wanted to give Hobnob a try. We sat in the comfy booths right next to the window. Ordered beer and a couple of appetizers. We got the spinach dip and sliders. Both were equally delicious! Best spinach dip in town! I could eat that dip daily and it would be worth being a million pounds! The sliders were pretty tasty as well. If you don’t like bar food, then find somewhere else to complain about ;)
