I am impressed. I had plans to purchase a 60in TV from Costco and needed advise on installation and setup. Although these guys sell tvs also there was no pressure. I brought the TV home and rang again to set up appt. they suggested a store visit to select preferred hardware. Gave me a good deal and offered to install right away. 10 minutes after I got home they were at door. About an hour later we were up and running. Correctly wired to Apple TV, blue ray, directv, remotes programmed, everything. Courteous installers, properly equipped and knowledgable. I’m usually not easily pleased but these guys are good.

I bought speakers and an amplifier here, and there was a bit of a problem, in that I brought them to Canada, where the amplifier didn’t work at all!
When I told the salesman, Lance, about this his response was absolutely great. I ended up sending the amplifier back to them, and they shipped me a new one. They paid for all the costs of shipping and other fees. There was no doubt that they would do everything they could to make it right.
Everything works great now. I was very impressed by the customer service — their sincerity and hard work. I would totally recommend this place.

I had a bad experience at another locally owned tv & appliance store whose standards weren’t up to par and a friend recommended Home Video Library because her family has done business with them for years. THEY WERE FANTASTIC! I explained the issue I had at the other vendor and Dennis told me what he could and couldn’t do to help me and invited me to stop by the next day. We dropped in the next morning and ended up purchasing a TV for us as well as one as a gift for someone else! Dennis was fantastic to work with and they had the TV (and home theater) delivered and installed the same day! I cannot recommend them more enthusiastically!

Home Video Library has a lot of wonderful attributes that are becoming harder and harder to find these days: knowledgeable salespeople, real variety in what they carry, thoughtfully displayed equipment, and quality brands (Klipsch, Definitive, Energy, Denon, Onkyo, etc) — not the absurdly priced ‘high end’, but real value and performance (at least in this cheapskate’s opinion). They’ve got lots of TVs on display, but instead of slapping them up all over a huge wall, they’re mostly set on nice stands or countertops in an appropriately softly lit environment. A couple of side rooms have audio equipment — quality brands of speakers and electronics that won’t break the bank, but are a huge step up from home-​theater-​in-​a-​box systems that are increasingly becoming the main option elsewhere. Aside from a good deal on a TV (I’ve bought my last two at HVL), you could really upgrade your own home theater experience by dropping in here and getting an affordable, but high quality audio system as well. A good TV picture is only half the experience, and fortunately you can still get it all here.

Our kids gifted us with a new flat screen TV for Christmas! Wow! We were so excited, especially since our old 27″ TV has been around for years and years. Perfectly good TV (wanna buy it??) so this was a huge upgrade for us.
We buy all our electronic equipment from Home Video Library, and have for the past twenty years. We like going in there because we’re never pressured to buy more than what we wanted in the first place, our questions have been answered fully, and the sales staff is awesome. We don’t like going to big box stores; we’d rather deal with a family-​owned business. We have always been satisfied with HVL and we know they stand behind what they sell. We’ve bought TVs, VCRs (remember them?), CD changers, etc. and have never been disappointed.
So that’s who we called to come out and install our equipment. You think we were going to try this on our own? Wrong! The tech/​delivery guy, named Victor, not only called us to let us know exactly what time he’d be here, but also was right on time.
In just an hour, he had us all set up (now we have FIVE remotes to deal with. ack… but that’s only till Thursday when we get our HD box from Comcast. Then we’ll drop down to four. Four? Okay, one for the VCR/​DVD player. One for the sound system. One for Comcast. One for the TV. One for… I can’t remember. Oh, the cable. Victor explained to me how each one worked (I’m the remote holder in our house… she who holds the remote rules the world!) But I digress.
Victor cleaned up after unpacking everything. He was polite and helpful, and told us when he worked in case we needed him to come back out. Ours is a pretty complex system and that way we wouldnt’ have to explain to anyone else what was going on. He would’ve installed surround sound for us, but we don’t have wireless and we didn’t want wires snaking all over the room.
This is a great company, great employees, great service. It doesn’t get better than this!

I have bought audio and video equipment from these guys since the late 1980s, which says something about how long they’ve been around. I’ve bought two amps, a set of speakers, a subwoofer, two televisions, a shelf CD/​DVD player, assorted cables, and at least one CD player from them. Maybe more?
Get this — this an authentic place attached to real people. It’s the same core group of people from one year to the next, not whatever teenagers have wandered through the payroll most recently.
They care about what they sell, they know about it, and they deal with integrity. «Deal» is a key word — this is a place where you should take the price tag as a starting point. They accept all reasonable offers, and they meet and beat any price.
The last time I bought there was a few months ago when I bought an HD TV. What stood out is that they didn’t keep pushing me to the higher and higher unit «for just a little more.» I gave them a price range and they respected it, and told me what I wanted to know about the options within that range. They weren’t condescending and they let me have my space. When it came to price, we made a fair deal, as always.
They’re good people. Don’t overlook this place if you’re looking for audio or video for the home! Go here before you go to one of those horrible big box stores!
