I have tried their soups, meat dishes, dried noodle dishes, appetizers and everything was great. I was never let down. This is my go-to spot when I’m tired, angry, and sick because it brings me back to joy.

Their new menu is incredible! Their old menu was pretty good but the new menu had a ton of new stuff! You can never go wrong with noodles. The more noodles the better. I always tend to order pineapple fried rice and my sister orders pad Thai and we share. Their papaya salad Laos style is so mouth watering and delicious, it taste just like my parents papaya salad. Nowa days I always just order kapoun, beef phở, chicken phở or kapiet. You can never go wrong with anything on their menu. Fabulous food and excellent customer service!

The staff was friendly. The service was good. The price was acceptable. The portions were big. I ordered the chicken tom yum soup and the drunken noodle with beef. The soup was fairly good but I’ve had much better tom yum. The drunken noodle was mediocre. The sauce itself was good but there was an off flavor in the beef that I had trouble getting past. The noodles also clumped together. Overall the place was good but I probably won’t go back.

It’s a small restaurant in a strip mall that has seen better days. Inside the restaurant is clean and well lit. The food is GREAT! Lots of flavors and colors. Spice heat ranges from mild to wild. Servings are generous but not humungous. Staff is very attentive and friendly. I have eaten here four times so far and will be back OFTEN.

Honey Jar is a mom and pop style restaurant that serves Thai food and phở. Their prices are decent, and the food comes in larger servings than a typical Thai restaurants. They have a very flavorful green curry that comes with steamed rice, and I cannot wait to try their other types of curries. I also love their spicy fried rice and noodle dishes that they make with tofu for us vegetarians. Make sure you ask them because some dishes cannot be altered and use fish sauce. The food comes out piping hot. Keep up the good work!

The best Thai food in the Oregon, we used to live at SE Portland and now we live in Tigard and still going all the way to that place for some Thai food. We went probably to every Thai food that is around here in Tigard and nothing so delicious like at Honey Jar. They never disappoint us. My favorite dish is fried rice with chicken and beef, and my husband usually gets fried rice with shrimp and spicy.

I really enjoy the Honey Jar a lot! I usually always get the same thing… Pineapple Fried rice with Beef and extra pineapple. It is very yummy and I love it. If you aren’t going to eat there, I suggest that you call your order in for pick up. BUT, be careful. The last time I called my order in, I went to pick up and they had given my food to someone else. The gal apologized and said it would only be a few minutes, and she would put a rush on it. So I sat there for about 10 minutes. I asked about how much longer it would be, and the cook happened to be out there and said she had put it on the counter. So, they not only gave my food away once, but they did it twice! I was not happy. So they made my lunch a 3rd time. I finally did get my food– and of course it was amazing– as usual. But they didn’t offer anything for the inconvenience of waiting for my food for so long or the fact that they gave it away to 2 different customers! Other than that, I really do like this place. We order take out for work a few times a month, and everyone at my work enjoys what they get as well!

The food is very tasty with huge serving sizes. The pineapple fried rice is delicious as well as their pad thai. We will return again. It is small and a bit crowed but we’ll worth the value.

Just wanted to update and to let folks know that the Honey Jar Café underwent a remodel in the past few months since my original review(Sept. 2014). The interior has been updated a bit with a fresh coat of paint, some new wall décor and more tables and chairs. Unfortunately, making all the room meant taking out the beloved doughnut case — which means no more doughnuts in the morning nor a sweet dessert at lunch time. I have been SUUUUUUPER bummed about this after they reopened. So, without the doughnuts, they are no longer opened in the mornings. Instead, they are open late and seem to have more alcohol on the menu. I also noticed a small doorway to your left when you first walk in(unless that’s been there all along??) and it leads you to video game poker machines. Eeehhh. HJC will still be my neighborhood Thai place, but I miss the doughnuts!

This place is HANDSDOWNAMAZZZZZZINGGG! I’ve never went to a thai restaurant that has such amazing service and outstanding delicious food! This place will probably be the only thai restaurant that I will ever come to. Trust me, come here and you will loveeeeee it!

Ordered Phad Thai w/Chicken to-go. It was ready when I showed up 20 minutes later. The restaurant was dark and not very inviting. The furniture was old and it looked as though nothing had been updated in decades. Overall the atmosphere did not instill trust in the food I would be eating. Drove back and brought the food back to my desk. It looked okay but really didn’t taste that great. The chicken was incredibly dry and tasted as though it had been cooked days ago and then reheated. The green onions tasted old and were a weird color. The whole dish just didn’t feel right. After experiencing the store front, I didn’t feel very confident that what I was eating wouldn’t make me sick. Only finished half of it and gave the rest to Ben. He thought it was pretty good but he also hadn’t really eaten anything all day. After hearing about the free doughnut I way hoping I would receive one with my take-out. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case.

I went out with 2 of my coworkers today for our payday lunch out meal. We arrived at the restaurant and was seated right away. The food didn’t take that long to get to us. The waitress was very friendly and was attentive to us. They tables were clean, floors were clean. It was not your typical Thai restaurant, but it was a relaxing café. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Absolutely in love with this restaurant. I’ve been coming here for years and the food is great: fried rice and phở are my favorite. I recommend this restaurant to anyone, and to those who want a drink, they now have alcohol!

I have been going here for around 10 years now, and there is a reason why I come back. The donuts are amazing, and they are very generously priced. I think that it’s pretty cool that they will give you donuts with anything you order, as long as they are not all sold out. I am not a huge fan of thai food, but I always enjoy whatever I order here. I enjoy that they have a wide variety meals on their menu. Yes, the burgers at this Thai place are actually good, the sandwiches too! There are plenty of drink options, although nothing alcoholic… yet! Overall, the prices are more than reasonable, the family who staffs the place are a wonderful group of people, and the food is delicious!

Good ‘n Tasty Thai food for a reasonable price. Doughnuts are great, but they have become so well known that they run out before the end of lunch time. Outdoor seating in patio area is available too! Friendly service with a grateful smile always gets my return business.

Is it a Thai restaurant? Is it a donut shop? Yes and yes. Weird, but true. I have honestly never seen a Thai restaurant that doubles as a donut shop in the morning, but I guess you have to make your money where you can. I stopped by here one morning as I was out in this area and all of a sudden craving donuts. I usually judge a place on their glazed. I bought one of those and a chocolate glazed too, but there are more interesting donuts to be had here. They were nice, light and fluffy. The one complaint was that they were a bit on the cold side. Hot donuts=yum, cold donuts=not so yum. Don’t know how long they had been sitting around. They weren’t stale, just cold. Oh well. They still hit the spot and I’m sure I’ll stop in again if I happen to be out here and the craving hits.

This place is an odd find that’s been here for quite a long time. In the morning it’s a donut shop. Donuts and coffee straight up. Nothing fancy-the donuts are the typical fare. French crullers, maple bars, cinnamon twists, old fashions line the shelves and you pick some out and have them still hot with a cup of coffee. Not a bad way to start your morning. At lunch it’s a Thai restaurant: The food is low priced and comes in ample portions.(For dessert they give you a donut left over from the am.) Everything I’ve eaten here is tasty and comes out fast. Perfect for a quick on the go lunch. The Thai food is not very spicy(I like it that way… but if you like it spicy remember to ask.) So if you are in this part of town for some reason… great little place.(They also have a nice outdoor patio if you like to sit outside.)

Icecream Frozen yogurt Soup Salad Sandwhich Donuts Coffee Burgers Bubble tea Thai food(noodles, curry, fried rice) Count-em TEN different items… a jack of all trades, a master of none. Don’t expect the best thai food or bubble tea(which sometimes takes 25′ for them to cook the tapioca :-/) but it’s decent enough. They’re friendly, and often times they throw in a free donut with a lunch entrée(likely because they’ll be thrown out the next day if they don’t) Give it a shot if you can’t find a better source of the above 10 items in your locale!
