Pretty bland burrito. Atmosphere isn’t great either.

I work in the area, and get sick of the same old choices, so I tried this last week. Not impressed. If you like absolutely no seasoning on your food, this is your place. I got a grilled chicken burrito and picked a flour tortilla. The serving was huge which was decent for the price. I took it back to work but found the flavor really, really bland. The salsa was terrible– I asked for medium but this was less than mild. It was like they picked up all the ingredients at costco and put them together right but with absolutely no cooking. Given the other wrap/burrito options in the area, I will not visit this one again.(unless I am with my grandmother who hates all spice, including salt.)

As I’ve never been here for lunch, I am rating the breakfast, and the service. Seriously the best breakfast burrito I’ve had in my life, made to your tastes, lots of choices, by friendly people. I used to go to this place way too often when I worked downtown, and damn the breakfast burritos are awesome, killer wrapped up pieces of heaven.

Um. not worth it. taste wise, ok. but not really actually good. As in good enough as an edible thing, but not good enough for 7 bucks. good enough for like, 4 bucks. But I didn’t see any $ 4 burritos. Way better burritos around town for way less. I wont go back and you probably should go somewhere else too.

Me: Hallo, can I have the vegetarian burrito please? Server-person: What kinda tortilla you want? Me: Uhm. flour? Server-person: No *point at gigantic case* what kind you want? Me: *Eyeballing a tower of tortillas… whaa? Seriously? I can choose the flavor of my tortilla like. like it’s a bagel?* Spinach… Jalapeño… Tomato. cheeeese? Me: I WANTJALAPENO!!! Server-person: *Big smile* You excited! That good! We make! You want sour cream? Me: Yah! …5 minutes later… Server-person: Jalapeño vegetarian burrito with sour cream! the meal: A giant burrito about the portion of a chipotle packed with sauteed vegetables. Smothered in sour cream and cheese; but neatly packed within. yes. a jalapeño tortilla. first bite: *nomnomnom* The tortilla was soft, squishy. the beans were, beans. The flavor in general was a little… off– not bad, but not good. summary: For the price, it’s not necessarily worth it, but for the exploration of a different kind of tortilla; it could definitely be worth a one day visit! Plus the staff is really really nice.

Went during peak hours. Had the carne smothered burrito. It was good. I never went when it was NY Burrito but the place was clean, fast, and friendly. Price was $ 6.79 for the burrito which seemed a tad steep but you did get a lot.

Like what Tom said in his review, this used to be New York Burrito and it was way better than. Now, it’s House Burrito and the quality of the food is «house» quality too, but not in a good way. Price is pretty high, almost the same as Chipotle, but far from Chipotle quality. Bring me back my New York Style Burrito! NOW! Andale!

Yeah, there’s nothing terribly WRONG with this place… but nothing terribly right about it either. It’s one of those menus where one-size-fits-all; the food can be reshaped into several different menu items. With sauce on top, a wrap can also become a burrito, or minus the wrap with a different sauce becomes… teriyaki! Bottom line — bland, yet massively filling wrap/burrito stuffed with the usual wrap fillers such as blobs of rice, reheated meat, cheese and sour cream-like sauce, with a side of tortilla chips and salsa. I often stroll past this place for lunch and seldom go in. The atmosphere is typical of a semi-fast-food place, but the service was friendly enough – which I appreciated and almost warrants an extra star because at least they are trying. The prices seemed to me a little too high for what you are getting. But, given portion sizes(HUGE), maybe that has something to do with it. I guess I am not a wrap kind of girl. So, take my review for what it is worth. Overall, I would say, compared to fast food, this is not a bad place to stop and eat lunch, in a pinch. Stuffing yourself with rice has to be better for you than, say, stuffing yourself with a greasy burger. Just don’t expect anything stellar.

This place used to be New York Burrito and it was a three-star joint on a good day. Well, it still might be, but the day I stopped in was not that day. There might be a new owner, but the stark fluorescent lighting, slightly grungy feel and tacky NYC mural art are the same. In fact, it seems somewhat seedier than the last time I was here. More New York, I think. They didn’t replace all the signage, just painted over ‘New York’ with ‘House’, in a different typeface. That pretty well embodies the approach here. An indifferent guy behind the counter asked me what I wanted while I scanned the faded, unappetizing back-lit photographs behind him, portraying the torture of burritos and teriyaki dishes. I opted for the Hawaiian wrap, which was not terrible, with chicken, pineapple and a mild curry sauce. Slightly weird but not terrible. They asked if I wanted it to go. No, I want to stay here and drink in this seductive atmosphere, what do you think? Hell YES I want it to go!
