Wanted to have some of the crepes, had a good impression since I went to one in Chicago where the food and service were both pretty good. Food didn’t come for a good half hour and when it did, it was lukewarm like it had been sitting on the counter for a while before they remembered to bring it. The order for the banana crepes somehow got messed up into pancakes but they had another order freshly made, which is what the second star is for. Slow orders, lack of listening, and dismissive service.

Thought about getting an omelette for dinner while out shopping, but at 9 o’clock at night, my options were limited. A 24-hour breakfast-type place would be a possibility, so I went to a nearby IHOP that I drive by all the time. I was expecting the place to be slightly disheveled like some 24-hour diners are, but this IHOP was very clean and tidy. I looked at the omelette section in their menu and saw that they actually have pictures of each item, and I wondered if the real thing would actually look as good as advertised. I ordered a spinach and mushroom omelette.. .and, hey, it actually looked BETTER than what was depicted in the menu because it was«engulfed» in spinach. It was huge, absolutely loaded with ingredients(spinach, mushrooms, onions, Swiss cheese, and topped with Hollandaise sauce and diced tomatoes) and it was very good. Service was fast too, and the workers there were very friendly and made me feel welcome. Totally satisfied.

Terrible. Took an hour for us to get our food while we watched two tables eat and finish before us, food was very poor quality that we could only finish half our plates, and the waitress set the bill down within our first two bites of our food. Unprofessional, lack of communication, poor quality. Not going here again.

Server name: Sierra K Location: 82nd Portland foster I’m also a server myself, so I know how horrible this experience was. We sat down, ordered. Food came, but table was still empty, because we didn’t get water or our ordered drinks the whole entire time. Food was here and I asked for our drink. She came back with drinks but basically dumped it on the table without saying a word and of course with a horrible attitude. I tried asking for a water after she put down our drink, but she already turned back and left. I ordered 4 stacks strawberry pancake, but only with the glaze amount of 2 stacks. And my son loves the glaze. Then I saw this guy in dark red shirt came by, so I waved for service, and asked for more glaze. He saids«it’ll be extra charge!» Of course I had it before without any charge. If I didn’t get enough glaze in the first place, why should I pay extra just for the glaze? But he didn’t try to explain or say anything nice. Instead he kept repeating«it’ll be extra charge!» Of course not in a nice attitude. I end up getting it anyway, I didn’t like the attitude going on here. When we were in the middle of eating, server Sierra K came by dropped off our check. And yes we were still eating. When I still had the folk on my hand working on our food, she came and tried to take plates away. How ridiculous? Oh well, I’ve lost my appetite anyway. And so we paid and left. This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had. They really need to consider having employee training classes. And of course we won’t be going back.

Entered this IHOP and was not greeted by anyone. Sat around the front for 15 minutes before someone sat me and three others. Once at our table, it took 15 minutes to get some water, and another 15 to get our orders taken. I would not recommend coming here because the service was so slow!

I went to Ihop to treat myself to some steak and eggs. I ordered the sirloin tips and when I got them they tasted like they had sugar on them. The waiter asked me if the meal was good. I told him they were sweet and did not like that. He said he had to get use to them too. Really??? Then a manager came by and asked if everything was OK I told him they are sweet and did not like them. His response was everyone likes them. I told him I do not. Nothing. Then I found a hair in my eggs. Did not mention that. I hardly ate them and went to pay and leave and told the hostess I did not like the sirloin tips. She pointed to the manager and I told the manager that no where on the menu does it mention those are sweet. She agreed with me that they are not that good but continued to charge me. They got my 15.00 dollars but I will never go back there again. I was a restaurant manager for 10 years and if people were not happy with their food I would comp it. Not her. Never will go back ever.

I was reluctant to eat here because I refuse to eat at Denny’s for their same style food, but dirty dirty dishes and tables. But we went tonight and I’m glad we did. Everything was really good, simple breakfast food, and the staff were all friendly and on their A game. Laviana(I think was her name) was an awesome server. Super funny and just great at what she does! Next time we are craving late night breakfast we will go here.

Food was decent but our server, Jamie(if I spelt that right) was absolutely amazing. One of the best servers I’ve seen a long time. Enthusiastic and welcoming, made the food that much more delicious. Would come back just for her. 5 stars. Amazing.

I thought my experience here was going to be horrible because of all the bad reviews BUT I had a great time, and food was great!!! Customer service was good and the place was clean

I strongly prefer the Pancake House, but I like to try the new/seasonal IHOP pancakes from time to time. This is the closest location for me and unfortunately I haven’t heard good things about the service, therefore I always order takeout.

I was at this place December 27th with my three children and grandson. We sat a halh hour with no water or silverware. We watch other being serve that arrived after we did. We eventually got up and left without every being acknowledge d as customers. This place is often dirty and unorganized, they also should stop employing tweekers as waitstaff. Our waitress never came to our table, but went in the bathroom over and over with some guy that was there. This was this place last chance for me. The Pancake house on Powell and 18th had the remedy. Ihop what happened?

I had never been here before and this review is not timely. I went here during National Pancake Day for lunch and had a stack of pancakes, to which I added a side order of has browns and coffee. Needless to say, there was a line out the door. Let’s just say that this made for some very interesting and theatrical dynamics. The food here is standard IHOP. Over the years, I’ve found that, whether it’s breakfast food or it’s lunch/dinner food, they are fairly consistent. On this crazy day, the waiter(or server, whatever the correct term is these days) who was attending to my table was remarkably composed and polite. I woofed down the 3-star food for this genre of eatery and got out of there! There is a parking lot in the back. The physical plant is very typical of this type of eatery and I’m sad to report that, yesteryear, this was a Bob’s Big Boy.(I am choking back the tears as I type this). This IHOP is in that area near SE82nd’s intersection with Foster Road where«everything» is located — Standard Appliance, Fred Meyer, Super King Chinese buffet, branches for the major banks, and other retail and food establishments. As for this area, I’ve only eaten at Super King, which is an institution in S.E., and at the Maple Leaf, a divey diner on Foster with reasonably priced yet good comfort food. As for IHOP, the only other one in the metro area at which I’ve eaten is in Cascade Station, close to IKEA, and to which I gave 4 stars because it’s truly nicer than most IHOPs. For this review, I started out with the standard 3 stars. I would then say they tip upward if the service resembles the service I received on my one visit. I would also have to say that I wasn’t thrilled to have Portland Police show up, though they really didn’t stay very long, so that would tilt them downward a bit. Chalk that up to National Pancake Day crowds! That comes right back to 3 stars, which is actually ok.

I’ve never had a problem with the service here before. Always your typical cheap early morning breakfast fare. But this one after splitting a bill with a friend they temporarily LOST our cards after paying. They finally brought them back and I paid and signed for mine but when I went back later to check online the charge was almost double!!! This is the first time this has happened to me before. Very frustrating. Now I have to dispute the claim. They better refund my money! Very very disappointed in this dishonesty.

Worst service and worst food ever! I knew it was a bad sign when we arrived and the first 15 minutes we were waiting to be aknowledged one table next to us said their food was horrid and got up and walked out after one bite and the other table was standing up looking to see if their food was up because it had been so long. Next, our server forgot to enter half our order and the food we did get was absolutely terrible. Poor quality, flvorless, burnt, and disgusting. I try to keep bad comments to myself but this place should have been shut down forever ago. Gross and will never ever return.

Went in on a Saturday night with my boyfriend, the place was completely dead besides 2 other couples who were seated directly beside our booth(sandwiching us). The waitress was very odd, seemed like she might of been having a bad day. None the less she did not get our order right the first time, also she forgot to bring my boyfriends coffee. She wasn’t very approachable. Seemed to me that she might have been on something? Who knows. They were taking awhile to get the food out. When it was served everything tasted good at first till we realized his pancakes were not fully cooked. It was just dough in the middle. I guess you get what you pay for. At least the waitress was some what entertaining to say the least.

Good place for pancakes and eggs. I am not a fan of the other items they have on the menu. I can never seem to go wrong with the breakfast items.

We like the food here, but the prices are a tad high. Service is good, staff is friendly(not the most professional staff I’ve seen, but not terrible by any means, but it was mid-morning on a Saturday). The place is kept pretty tidy and clean. Their coffee and tea really is good and they supply you with plenty of either and plenty of cream/sugars. The breakfast options are plentiful, but as I said before, the prices are a tad high. Not a bad chain. And not a bad spot for breakfast, but we probably wouldn’t go there at night.

*sigh* You know how you can just tell when an establishment doesn’t even attempt to give good service? Like they gave up years ago but somehow they’re still in business? Given the lavish description and the moderate price($ 11-ish), I was thoroughly convinced the«French Onion Pot Roast» would satisfy my growling innards… Well, ladies and gentlemen, the confused mess that arrived at my table was smaller than a Hungry Man freezer meal. I kid you not. Dumbfounded, I regretfully consumed my scraps, the way you might pick through lukewarm leftovers at 4:00AM in a dim kitchen after a drunken Christmas, in the same house you’ve been living in since you were five… The shredded beef tasted good… all 2 square inches of it! There was about half a can of sweet yellow corn dumped in one corner, and below that a small pile of mashed potatoes with dents in the top that looked like someone stuck their fingers into them to see if they were still warm. I ended up mixing all this together, trying to make the meat go as far as possible. This salty jumble was about the size of my fist, and I was left hungry and disillusioned. Including a sugary beverage, I paid $ 13.50 for a meal that might satisfy a chihuahua. I understand food prices are rising and whatnot, but my experience at IHOP redefined the word«stingy.» Justin, our waiter, was the only redeeming quality. He was kind, gregarious and very attentive. All other employees, however, seemed apathetic, distant, and uninterested in human beings. I left no tip, and IHOP will never see another penny of mine. P. S. «IHOPE» this place gets torn down and replaced with a park. ;)

I visited IHOP today with a party of four. We were sat immediately and all ordered waters, a hot tea, and one iced tea. The visit started off with boysenberry syrup stickiness on the table of which we had to request it cleaned. Our hot tea was brought out as an iced tea. By the time our food came out, we did not have any silverware. Our toast that we ordered extremely lightly toasted was overly toasted and came with no butter(who eats dry toast?). One member of our party was ignored with refills unless we said something, the rest of us were taken care of. When we requested more hot water, they did not bring another tea bag. Our waiter’s name was Mauricio and the overall service was mediocre at best. IHOP should at least train their staff in the basics.
