I had never had lefse or even heard of lefse before checking out this cart the other day. It was pretty darn good. I visited Ingrid’s on a beautiful sunny day, right around dinner time, so you can imagine the carts were packed. The girls running the cart were so obviously swamped with food orders but still so polite and cheery. I think I was the last person to get a lefse before they ran out. I ordered the meatball wrap. They were out of cheese sauce but recommended I try the jam in its place — I did and it was pretty good. I thought the meatballs were a bit bland, but I had never eaten anything like this wrap before so didn’t mind too much. My friend had the salmon wrap — had a bite — liked it more than my wrap. I’ll probably be back to try some of the other menu items. :)

These are the best Lefse we ever had. Even better than what we’ve had in The Midwest. We had a special order for Christmas and they came freshly made.

This was the perfect place to eat! I was so impressed with the food! The meatball wrap is to die for! And don’t forget about the dessert this is a must! The portions are big and the price is low. Great service and amazing food! I will be going back!

We had the meatballs as a snack while waiting for Pok Pok and boy was it delicious. We go the cheese sauce which was really good but in the future, I’d probably go with something with a little more of a kick. They are reminiscent of Ikea meatballs but much, much better and about twice the size. The meatballs were tender and worth a try!

Only been here once, but was pleasantly surprised. Got a wrap and some of the roasted potatoes — both were delicious. The horseradish sauce and dill mustard made the dish, so get those on the side!

They do the sweet and the smoked. Ask for the salmon wrap with chèvre then ask if you can pay $ 1 extra to have them add extra smoked salmon and you have a nice fresh wrap that melts in your mouth.

The pølse Lefse was so worth eating out in this icky, muggy, Southern-summer weather. It’s like a glorified hot dog; stuffed with purple pickled cabbage & delicious Dijon. The sausage was SODELICIOUS! I think I waited less than 5 min & there was an order ahead of me. The food is great & service is fast & friendly! I can’t wait to come back here again!

First time trying Norwegian Scandinavian food. Considering my husband is Norwegian this place had really good wraps. I had the salmon wrap and their Linden berry wrap. I loved their sweet wraps it was so good. The texture of the wrap was unlike anything I had ever taste before. I believe their sign said it was made from potato. I will most definitely come back to this cart soon.

Hey, two firsts! Ingrid’s Scandinavian Food Cart, and the new Tidbit Food, Farm and Garden food cart pod. Both are very nice. At Ingrid’s, I had the Norwegian Meatball Wrap(four medium-sized meatballs, Sukål and Gjetost cheese sauce, wrapped in Lefse /$ 6.25). I also ordered a side of meatballs(four) with Gjetost cheese sauce /$ 4.50. I know, I had to look it up, too. The meatballs were round, about 2 ½ inches across, and appeared to be a typical, finely ground, meatloaf mix. Zero browning. They were good, but nothing to write home about. The Sukål(the Norwegian word for sauerkraut) was added to the wrap. It was made with red cabbage(I don’t know if Ingrid’s always always uses red cabbage, or as a festive touch for the holiday season?) I found it sweet, and asked the lady at Ingrid’s about the sweetness, who said it had been mixed with apples. Delicious! Gjetost(pronounced«yay-toast,» or goat cheese in Norwegian) cheese sauce. I had a hard time understanding Gjetost. Wikipedia says that all the Scandinavian countries have a version of this«caramelized whey cheese.» The Norwegian version, Gjetost, is made from boiled goat’s whey. It looks like dulce de leche, but I didn’t find it sweet at all — really kind of bland. Is it even really cheese? Lefse is a Norwegian flatbread made with potatoes, that is used as the wrap. It was a good wrap, and meatballs, though not earth shattering. I’d give them a six out of ten.

Ingrid’s is located in the new Tidbit food cart pod on Division, and this cart along with the wide selection of other ones there is the reason Tidbit is becoming one of my favorite pods to hang out at. All right, coming back to Ingrid’s, this place is all about the lefse. I got the Norweigan meatballs Lefse with a type of cheese I can’t pronounce let alone spell, and a scandinavian version of sauerkraut(darn, should have taken a pic of their menu). Anyways, the wrap was delicious, the cheese blended perfectly well with the juicy meatballs and the cold cabbage was a nice juxtaposition. Great place to get lunch or a snack!

The Lefsa takes me back to my childhood. Had the salmon wrap and Norwegian meatballs. Salmon smoked perfectly and surprisingly great contrast with the egg. meatballs are moist and very tasty. Will make this a frequent stop.

My only experience with Lefse’s is Viking Soul Food: Ingrid’s version is a far cry. The wrap here was doughy, dry, bordering on a tortilla, while the meatball’s had an odd spice. Cute cart, extensive menu, lukewarm service from the younger gal. I Probably won’t go back.

Well, wasn’t that a nice surprise to see a vacant lot on Division(the old mechanics garage that burned down about 5 years ago) turn into the Tidbit food pod, instead of another condo development. This pod is nice, with a great selection of carts, though, I wish there was more covered seating. On my maiden visit to Tidbit, I opted to try Ingrid’s Scandanavian Food, having fond memories of the lefses at Viking Soul Food, now over on Belmont. At Ingrid’s, I ordered a lefse and the deep-fried meatballs. The lefse has some pretty good ingredients. Sheathed with a wrap(that is quite similar to a moo shu pancake), the inside contains cole slaw(or at least shredded cabbage), sausage and a creamy dressing. This lefse was filling, and I especially like its sausage. But the dill in the dressing was overpowering. Also, when prepping the cabbage, Ingrid’s left a lot of water behind on the cabbage. This resulted in a drippy puddle quickly developing under the Pølse, and almost on my lap. My order took a while to prepare, because the gal working there had to prepare a fresh batch of corn meal batter for the deep-fried meatballs. But the tradeoff was that the five-star corn-dog like crust on the meatballs was fresh and tasty. But to be honest, I did not like the spices in the meatballs. At all. They were strong and unrecognizable, perhaps faintly reminding me of cinnamon or cloves. That was surprising because us Nordic types are rightfully accused of often preferring«bland»(or as I prefer, mildly spiced) food. 3.3 stars.

After a cool down period of a couple days I’m still giving just 1 star. Seriously took 25 minutes for a veggie wrap that doesnt require cooking and had two tickets in front of me. No acknowledgement at hand off and wasn’t impressed with the taste. There are plenty of other carts in that new pod on Division that have great service and food that I will be giving my business to.

Ingrid’s has some of the best lefse I’ve ever had! Wrapped around a blueberry compote, it was an amazing dessert after the most incredible deep-fried meatballs. I tried to bring some home for hubby, but at 30-weeks with twins, he’ll have to make his own trip!
