Cannot recommend this shop, and its owner Ron enough. He’s quick, precise, honest, and pricing is definitely fair. I will continue to use Jamac for any repairs I need. He absolutely knows his stuff.

Great product. You get even more than you pay for. Bose speakers blew. Brought them here. Fixed for cheap and sound better than original. This fella knows his speakers. Great shop.

Think laid back, old school, local «doing business with a neighbor» type service. Ron knows his stuff and has always done right by me when it comes to price and service. Smaller jobs he often does on the spot while you wait or even watch. Not a spit-​polished, hi-​tech, highly organized feel to the place if that’s what you are after. But he has tons of cool speaker stuff, will get you set up however you need and order anything that might not be on hand at that instant. Ron will NOT try and hustle/​upsell you into purchasing something that is above and beyond what you want or actually need. In my case it’s been just the opposite where he has offered cheaper solutions that I was expecting. Spendier options would still be available if I were unhappy with down the road… but that’s never happened.

I drove down here on Monday from Seattle, based on a recommendation from an audio repair shop owner in Seattle. I had checked the Unilocal reviews before I drove down as well, and I can only this is a great shop with great customer service. I called on Friday to see if I could drop my speakers off on Monday. I spoke to Ron. When I told him I was coming from Seattle, he asked what the problem was and offered to fix it while I waited. He figured it would take about an hour or so. I arrived on Monday morning and dropped them off and went to grab some breakfast nearby. It ended up taking about 2.5 hours, which was fine with me. He kept me apprised of the situation and I know he was repeatedly interrupted and that is to be expected. He fixed a tweeter, replaced the broken terminal connectors with new terminal cups, glued one of the speakers that was coming apart and rescrewed the backs on with longer screws. The speakers sounded great when he tested them for me! The price was very fair and Ron was great. I highly recommend this place. I can’t remember the last time I got customer service like this!

This place is absolutely amazing. We bought some used speakers for our PA, and after a while the tweeter blew on one of them. We took it in, and before we wven said anything, he had the replacement ready, which was priced wqy better than i could expect.
A bit later we had to replace the 2^nd, and obviously went back.
After a few months, we blew the tweeter again, and took it back for a replacement, and he just traded us for free. We did the same with the 2^nd one, and he said of they go out again, he might have to adjust the crossover.
I just picked up my speakers after bringing them in yesterday, and they have adjusted the crossover, did some minor repairs, and replaced both tweeters. I tried to pay, but again, he let us take them for free.
These guys are absolutely the best, and I will be buying everything I can from them, if they’ll let me pay them. They are currently repairing my rommates’ drivers, and have informed us that if they are unable to make them sound like new (they’re really beat up), they won’t charge. (in which case new drivers will definitely be purchased here at a more than fair price)
While I am still perplexed as to how they make money, I highly reccomend patronizing these guys, I have yet to visit any other business as awesome as this place.

Great prices, great service. If you have a problem with the drivers they sell, they will take care of you. By doing bad research I stupidly bought the wrong drivers, loaded them in my cabinet, played a show, realized I had the wrong drivers. I was worried that they wouldn’t let me return them, or would only give me a partial credit since I had installed/​used them. Not only did they let me return them for full credit, but actually gave me the cash difference when I «downgraded» to some other drivers.
About a year later, one of those drivers failed, i took it in inquiring about repair costs, they took it away from me and gave me a brand new driver for free.
If you need new drivers, go to this place. Same prices as online stores and no shipping costs.
Portland musicians should consider themselves lucky that we have such an establishment.
