Extremely poor customer service. This morning I went into Joseph’s to get my measurements for a suit. I explained to the older gentleman working the morning of Thursday January 28,2016 that I would need to be fitted for the suit here and I was having the suit produced in a different state and would be back to have the suit tailored to my body. First to give you a description, this gentleman resembled Richard gere in such a way I could only assume he tries daily to replicate Richards look. My first interaction with this gentleman was«can you hold on» which was fine I understand your busy, although I was the only customer in the store of 2 employees. I then explained my situation. His response, «why aren’t you buying your suit here?» Well sir, I’ve got a suit guy in California who gets me extremely low prices. His response, «how much is it going to cost» once I gave him the answer he smirked and laughed under his breath. Almost as to say, must be a cheap suit. After answering him I then asked myself, what does this have to do with getting my measurements? Once I explained all of this to him he informed me there would be a charge to get My measurements. This came as a surprise to me as everywhere I’ve called about measurements informed me there was no charge. I offered him the guarantee I would have myself and my 5 groomsmen have all of our suits tailored here if he could save the $ 12 fee. His response was no. Poor business decision. I then started to rebuttals him and he interrupted me and said«good luck with your wedding» extremely rude and condescending. Maybe this gentleman didn’t like the way I was dressed because I had on a sweatshirt and sweatpants in a «high end» store? Looks can be deceiving. What this gentleman didn’t know is that every Christmas season I purchase two gift cards of a large amount for my father and uncle who actually like the store. Needless to say, after my experience today I will not be purchasing these gifts any more nor will I allow any of my groomsmen to have their suits tailored by Joseph’s. Not only has this employee left an extremely poor taste about Joseph’s on my mouth but he has also lost his employer future business from myself and my friends who I will inform of this situation. Over all this gentleman ha extremely poor customer service skills, thankfully he has a second career as a Richard gere if he can not be a valuable asset to Joseph’s in the future. Today he was a poor asset to the team.

I am waiting for the return of a $ 200 deposit on a blazer which I decided not to buy. It wasn’t tailored, it was just an order from a company in Canada. Joseph’s wants me to come in and try it on. I don’t want to go through that charade. I’d just like my deposit.

Best men’s clothing store in Portland, Maine and one of the best in all of New England. Great range of quality brands and lots of USA made clothing. Casual to formal. The managers and staff are super knowledgeable and will help you look smart and stylish.

Joseph’s is legit. I walked in looking for some advice, some alterations and a pair of pants. Some friends of mine were getting married at the Migis Lodge in Sebago and I didn’t want to look like a bum so I asked Joe himself to hook me up. I had a blazer already, which I bought online and I was expecting a $ 30+ alteration fee for that. I was pleasantly surprised when he told me that it fit well and didn’t need alteration. Okay, I said, so he stepped back, gave me a nod and took me to a pair of «Travel Pants» that fit perfectly right off the bat, it was like he read my mind. He asked how I wanted the cuffs to break for alterations sake. I had never been asked that before so he explained it and told me what was in style nowadays and we went with that. On the way out the door I scooped up a sweet pocket square to bring the outfit together, and just like that I was dressed like a million bucks at a fancy wedding. Go see Joe, he’ll hook you up, and won’t feed you any BS. Also, if you want casual clothing he’s got the hook up on local made t-shirts as well as a plethora of excellent brands on the left side of the store, which is pretty big for a store of this kind.

Walked in … Nice brands. Would have dropped a ton of cash but pompous staff. So they get no business and one star. I was looking for 5 pocket khakis and I described a problem I was having with a brand of pants wearing out. looking for suggestions. They were less than enthused to help me out. If you want to spend real money and get treated like trash this is your place.
