Because of a chronic, crazy back issue, I find myself at a massage therapist quite a bit. So I’ve become somewhat of a connoisseur when it comes to a great masseuse. That’s why I feel I can say with some«authority»(ha!) that Julie Robinson is the real deal. First of all, upon arrival, both her calm energy and sensitivity to your pain are immediately comforting. You feel like she really cares about what is ailing you and that she is going to do everything in her power to make sure you feel better when you walk out the door. Unlike some massage therapists, I never felt like she was just going through a set game plan used for every patient. She really tailored her approach. Because I was suffering from some more than typical pain in my upper back, she focused much of her attention on the«hot areas,» and introduced cupping to the session… something I have only had with an acupuncturist. Her body work combined with the cupping really made a difference. There are a lot of masseuses in Portland, but there are only a few who have the sensitivity to the body and massage«craft»(if that’s what you call it) that Julie has, in spades. I’m so glad I found a great masseuse in Portland. I don’t need to go anywhere else when I’m here.
