I came to Ben for some company Headshots, which came out very nice and we even played around with some personal«glam» shots afterwards for a bit at my request. I definitely got some great stuff. My coworkers went to other photographers and I for sure got the best images out of the six of us! Ben is knowledgable, experienced, and fun to work with. Doing headshots isn’t as easy as just taking a picture of someone’s face. Ben understood, and explained to me how to get the right kind of smile, how to stand so I wouldn’t look silly, and generally how to take natural shots. Comparing my shots to my coworkers it’s glaringly obvious how that knowledge resulted in better, more natural looking photos.

Ben recently took new head shots for the Fox 12 team, and was a total pro. Dealt with each of us in a professional manner, and really took the extra effort to make us look our best — while having fun in the process. Would not hesitate to recommend him!

I was in search of updated professional headshots and was referred to KBR from a colleague who had recently used him. I went in with few expectations but appreciated the how relaxed and comfortable he made me feel in front of the camera. The resulting proofs were turned around very quickly and final shots touched up and delivered very quickly. Outstanding experiences and would recommend to others who are in search of some good quality professional headshots

When people say don’t cut yourself short on the wedding photography budget — don’t mull on it, take that advice. When I think of our situation with the wedding pictures I get sick to my stomach because I know there is nothing I can do to fix it. It’s not something you can repeat and you can only re-stage something to a certain extent. My husband and I live in Virginia and choice to do our wedding in Oregon at Timberline Lodge. To us, Timberline Lodge is one of the coolest places on Earth –definitely breath-taking. We picked Ben because the price seemed right and he seemed committed. Four months before our wedding, we flew out to Oregon to check out the venue and meet all of our vendors, including Ben. We did this because we wanted to make sure we had everything squared away before the wedding. At that time we talked to Ben about our expectations. Two specific things we were passionate about were — no ‘getting ready’ shots, and we definitely wanted to capture as many scenic shots as we could before the wedding started. One of the main reasons why we picked Timberline is because of the spectacular views. We were hoping to get awesome sunset and mountain shots. We actually set our wedding start time at 5:30 pm so that we would have ample time to do pictures at sunset(wedding in November). During our visit with Ben, he ensured us that he would scope out Timberline Lodge to pick out the best locations for pictures. We were stoked! We left that appointment feeling confident that we were in good hands. When I saw Ben for the first time the day of the wedding I assumed he had a plan in place. From my perspective, and I’ve never been married before, I thought you set a time for pictures, set expectations beforehand(stated above), and then let the Photographer take the lead from there. The last thing you want to do on your wedding day is worry about logistics. Ben and his wife, Jada, came into the room where the bridesmaids and I were getting ready and snapped a dozen or so pictures. In retrospect — I would think he’d be planning locations for pictures and figuring out the order of when to take pictures and with whom. Long story short — we raced around the hotel, inside and out, passing family and friends, trying to find a good location for pictures. So much time was lost in that process that we were only able to snap a few pictures. We didn’t get a single shot with Mt Hood in the background. There were very few outdoor shots. Like I said, you can only re-stage your wedding pictures to a degree. Missing pictures of the beautiful scenery at Mt Hood is irreplaceable. In addition to the lack of pictures taken, I felt like Ben came off unprofessional in the aftermath of the wedding. I was perplexed by some of his comments. He sent me an email stating that he had to pay for his own meal, but after talking to the day-of wedding coordinator and the venue wedding coordinator they both confirmed that he and his assistant, Pete, ate at the bar and charged the expense to the master bill, which was the plan. Secondly, he stated that he thought I was going to provide him a hotel room the night of the event. I’m unsure when and where the miscommunication pursued, but I’m pretty sure this is not customary. When I reviewed this with my husband, Drew, he said that he recalled Ben mentioning that he was going to possibly bring his wife and they’d make a trip out of it. Nonetheless, I think it’s really important to go pick a photographer who comes with lots of referrals. You can’t redo your wedding pictures and wedding pictures are not cheap.

I reached out to Ben for a professional headshot, which I had never done before. He was incredibly helpful, patient, and laid-back though the whole process. He didn’t charge a lot for it, but still spent quite a long time working with me, answering my questions, coaching me to get the best shots possible, and helping me pick my final three. He was also very responsive and easy to get a hold of for questions. I love my final headshot as well! I definitely recommend him.

I searched around for a decent place to get some headshots taken and luckily found Ben. I got way more than decent. Ben promptly replied to my vague email about getting some photos done and as soon as I met him at his funky studio he made me feel really comfortable and asked a lot of questions about what I wanted. He explained everything that he was doing and going to do, had great suggestions and while I had many trepidations going in, I came away feeling really confident and more importantly, having thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was a really great experience and I plan on using him again for future work.

Had a great experience having my headshots taken with KBR. I was pretty nervous going in as I have never felt comfortable in front of the camera. But Ben was super helpful and I think his most valuable skill was coaching me to bring out a nice countenance… I can’t say just nice smile because he worked on my eyes, body language, mouth among other things. Very highly recommend his service, I had my edited headshots within days and all for the most affordable price I found in the Portland area.

Ben has shot several events for us. He’s really easy to work with, takes direction well and always gets the photos we need with a variety of crowd shots, candid images and any sponsors or dignitaries we need.

We collaborated on a project with Ben Reed, where I was a Stylist and we had a male model. The results were amazing, and plus Benjamin is an excellent listener, he has ideas and he is very easy to talk to. He also managed to finish editing the photographs avery fast after the photo shoot. I am sad that I moved to another state, otherwise I would surely love to collaborate again.

Ben shot my son’s senior picture – a series of formal headshots – and then used the rest of the time for some creativity. Wow. The headshots were fine, perfect for the yearbook. But if you use KBR, just let him roll with the creativity. The scenes, lighting, use of props, were outstanding. Most of my teenager’s creative shots were pretty edgy but really fun. Since he wants to be in theater, they will be perfect – and different – for his portfolio. The price is very competitive as well. I would highly recommend KBR for any type of photography.

I went to KBR’s studio on Friday for my first ever sit down for pictures. I was pretty nervous about the experience, but he had a knack for easing down my anxiety level and engaging in conversation that made the process very, very easy. The price I paid was about a 1⁄3 of what I had seen offered by others around town and he sent me several images to use within 24 hours of our first meeting. I now have the headshot I needed for my business. A nice guy who does a great job at an amazing price.
