Rich is an awesome bike mechanic. I have a Cervelo R3 2013 and was looking for a shop mechanic that knows what he is doing and not a big name shop.
I don’t like working with Cycle repair shops that will promise one thing and then deliver something else. I decided to give Kenton a try mostly because of the high ratings and I am in The Vancouver, WA area.
Its very close to the «couve» and highly suggest you consider working with Rich.
I have ridden a few hundred miles since my repair and my bike feels as good as it did the day I bought it. Zippy and purring like a kitten :-)

I’ve been to many bike repair shops in this city, and Kenton Cycle Repair is hands down the best. Everyone in there is so friendly. They are honest, helpful and very kind.

Can’t say enough about how friendly, helpful, and skilled these folks are. Absolutely the best bike shop experience I’ve had in Portland, and that’s saying something. Very happy to have them in the neighborhood.

Got a flat on my way to work today. Which sucks! These guys were amazing! Helped me out by changing the tube in my tire and adjusted my brakes. Guess those were off too. Super friendly and fast! Great price.

Starmichael is one of the friendliest people/​shop owners I’ve met. This shop is so down-​to-​earth I feel like I am underground. I literally just waltzed in with my bike and Starmichael gladly took it and put in on the rack and gave me a quick estimate while we talked and talked. He even answered questions about a new bike for my wife. The whole shop is small, but it feels like a great community. Everyone in the shop had a good laugh about my story about the previous bike snob who worked on my bike. It felt like a good cozy place to be and interact and shop. While discussing my old beat up bike the owners didn’t recommend riding it as the accident I got into with it made the bike unsafe for riding. I appreciated the up front assessment and would gladly have them work on any bike I end up purchasing.
I highly recommend this shop if you are in the area.

I have not been to any other bike repair shops. I don’t know much about them to be honest. But I like the people here. They have always been really nice to me. When my brother gave me his old bike I took it to them to get some info and pointers. They gave it a look over and tightened and greased some things. They are always eager to help and let me use their pump whenever I need it.
They will get my business for my bike needs.

Not only did these guys do a great job with my bike but they couldn’t have been more kind, patient, and resourceful in helping me figure out my best options for making riding it more enjoyable on a really tight budget. Rich spent A LOT of time with me trying to figure out the best adjustments to make my bike more comfortable to ride and really listened to what I was trying to achieve (even though I had no idea how to get there) before taking action. Everybody else in the shop was great as well. Give these guys your money! They’re great!

We went in because my husband had a broken part on his Montague folding bike. They weren’t able to make a new part but were so willing to try and made some other minor adjustments to make the bike easier and safer to ride. Fortunately there is a work-​around for the broken pin so the bike is still usable. The charge for the time spent was almost embarrassingly minuscule. This is a great bike shop.

Totally friendly and helpful. I went to get new wheels and tires and ended up with a bike that everything is new but the frame. I love it. I didn’t have to spend that kind of money, but I took the suggestions of Rich and my bike is pretty badass now. I recommend this place because the dudes there are not pretentious, are knowledgable, are nice people, and I felt like I got a really great final product that I can be proud of.

I usually hate going to bike shops. Owners are usually so snobby/​mean and unwilling to share any knowledge to the point of just pure frustration.
Not here. The owners of this shop were both super nice and friendly. They helped me build up an old frame I had with new/​used parts and were super helpful with suggestions and know-​how. They were willing to show me how to make repairs myself and communicated everything very clearly, even despite my extreme awkwardness and shyness.
They even threw in some free product when they realized what I had paid for didn’t allow for the best result. Swell customer service!
I highly recommend this shop. Two super swell humans with great business skills.

After two unsuccessful years of seeing multiple well known Portland bike shops about my trailer bike set up issues i was having.
These guys way up here in my Kenton neighborhood were the ones to actually figure it out and fix the issue.

I went in today in need of a patch kit and was impressed with the knowledge of the staff and the extent that they care about customers. There weren’t the pretentious attitudes I have directly experienced at other shops. I would definitely recommend Kenton Cycle Repair to those in the neighborhood and beyond.

Great little shop. Rich knows everything there is to know about bikes and yet is still kind and helpful. In a word, awesome.

I live in the neighborhood, recently walked by and was happy to see a new small business. A few days later, my bike got a flat. I needed new tires anyway so I called the shop. They said to come right in. The prices were affordable and the service was great. They would’ve had all the work done in 30 minutes, but I chose to run some errands and came back a few hours later. I have received the services I requested and my bike also got tuned up in several other areas, no charge. I was told the bike was in need of a few new parts in the near future (chain is worn, a pedal cracked). They made me some recommendations that I plan to follow up on after the New Year. I will definitely go back, and definitely recommend this shop to others.

I hated riding my bike and the guy Star helped me find a rad bike that is so much fun to ride. He is really into finding the perfect fit and customizing it for you. And they are pretty darn affordable!

Nice little neighborhood shop. It’s in my way to work and saw the sign on denver. Stopped in for some tubes and found good quick service with fair prices. Good location for fellow bike commuters riding along denver ave.
