Awesome place! Tim was freaking amazing and on the spot. We are traveling on vacation and he even helped us pick out places when we were looking through travel guides. The food was delicious, the california omelete was tasty as well as the pancakes. Very accomodating to our many questions and quirky ways we wanted our food. Could not be happier!

Three of us went here because the restaurant we wanted was to busy. I had never been here before. Both me and my grandaughter loved it and can’t wait to bring other family there. Food was great coffee very good. Prices cheap, and the owners are absolutely wonderful. You feel like your at home. Great service. If you’ve never tried it, go, you won’t regret it. It just may become your favorite go to restaurant.

Really good hearty food – I got the BIG Breakfast(2 eggs, English muffin, hash browns, 4 slices of bacon!) which was delicious and well cooked. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. Get here early on a Sunday as there is not a lot of parking and it gets busy

This place is awesome! Great food, very friendly and attentive staff, affordable prices. Best restaurant in the neighborhood we’ve found so far. Skip all the garbage corporate chains in Gateway and come support this well run family restaurant.

Great service! So friendly and attentive. The heavy is amazing! They are definitely known for their famous omelets. The place is very old school– looks like original chairs and tables– dated, but appropriate for the old school feel. LOVE this place

It’s American food. The shrimp omelet with hollendaise sauce and cheese was delicious, but I had forgotten how long it’s been since I had eaten anything so rich! The sourdough rye toast arrived, and the only thing that connected it to toast was the fact that it was warm. Shouldn’t toast be somewhat golden brown? That’s normal toast, and I like mine darker. But the only color on this toast came from the butter. So I sent it back(much to the surprise of our server, who seemed to think it was fine). I stressed that I liked really dark toast, wouldn’t be unhappy if it were a little burned. So the toast returned, very lightly golden in color. On my way to the rest room I looked at other diner’s toast. Everyone who ordered toast had what was basically warmed bread. Perhaps it’s time to buy a new toaster? Another surprise was the lack of a liquor license. I’m used to diners being full service, anything from breakfast to dinner. The menu complied with this, but not even a mimosa with Sunday brunch? This cancels out the site as a place to hold impromptu parties, brunch, gatherings. They can get a one day liquor license for planned events. I’ve been to places which didn’t have liquor licenses but allowed the patrons to bring their own bottle of wine for dinner. No, they don’t allow that option, but that might be something which simply isn’t done in Portland, as opposed to other cities. They are personable, and as loyal to their customers as their customers are to them. There are people who have been going to Kings Omelets for years, and that say a lot about a place. If you’re looking for a Sunday brunch gathering fueled by mimosas and bloody marys, this isn’t the place. However, if your looking for basic American food, with some rich entrees, you should give this a try.

I’m just now getting to this review, however my experience is etched in my memory! GROSS! I ordered the traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast. A simple breakfast that really can’t be messed up… Yes it can!!! The eggs were cooked in the same oil as the hash browns. How do I know? It pooled on the plate. The service was sub par and the overall experience left me walking away from my plate knowing I would never return.

While the decorations may not be the most posh(or well-dusted), their staff are always friendly, attentive, fast and awesome, just like their food! They have a huuuge selection to choose from on their menu and we always leave with a to-go box because there is so much food! This place has quickly become our favorite Sunday morning breakfast spot.

So glad we found this place! We ate there two days in a row. We split an omelet the first day and then eggs Benedict the second day. Looks like it is family run. Everyone is warm and show they care about the service and food. Lots of regulars who know each other and the servers.

After driving past this restaurant for quite some time, my husband and I finally stopped in for brunch. We weren’t disappointed! :) The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive! Our waiter was so nice and certainly made us feel welcome. The food was good! Honestly, it’s diner food but tasted delicious and fresh! Plus, the prices were affordable and relatively low, compared to other breakfast places in town! With the low prices, delicious food and wonderful staff, Kings Omelets has made it to our list of favorite brunch places! We will be back! :)

I have passed by this place too many times to count. Im really glad that our regular breakfast joint was too busy to want to wait at, because this place was just down the street, and it was an excellent find! I will now be a regular here. The food is NOT greasy, not even a little, which to me is AWESOME! My boyfriend and I had the Western Skillet and the Buckwheat Plus. Both of which I crave on a daily now. The service was top notch, especially with coffee and other drinks. Everyone is so friendly there. I highly recommend looking past the dated exterior, and stop in to try this spot. Its my new favorite!

Wait staff was nice — i think it was family run. Eggs were fine but the links were budget and the hash browns hard and horrible.

Classic American restaurant with good breakfast-lunch items and reasonable prices. We have been dining here for years and have always enjoyed the food and a visit with the owners.

Nope. Nope. Nuh uh. What a terrible way to end what was otherwise a fantastic Portland foodgasm. Seriously, though. How do you make rubbery pancakes? Is this a technique that takes skill? Because I’ve certainly never experienced it before. Credit is given for coffee, kindness and bacon, but it ain’t worth yo money folks.

Worst breakfast ever. Ate there long time ago and it was good. But no longer. Must be new management. Avoid this place at all costs, it will cost you wasted time and money. Also let me add they used Velveeta cheese on top of my scramble. Had to send back to be remade with different cheese and it was still bad. Left there still hungry and with a few less dollars. Should have refused to pay.
