Krua was my go to choice for Pad Thai for the five years I lived at the Harrison. Family owned. Friendly. Accommodating. Delicious!!! Favorite dishes: Pad See Ew Pad Thai Tom Ka Ga All curries Note to consumers: Even when the smaller businesses offer square, try to pay cash when you can as it saves them 1.5% to 5% on credit card fees.

Basil ground beef is always my favorite when I crave rice and meat combo. It’s the right amount of spice and texture of of both ingredients are soul satisfying. I tried making it at home but can’t seem to get it right! My rare treat when I need extra brain power to get the school work done, and it’s not something I find in most restaurants or food carts. Give it a try!

Regardless of the food quality, making your customers wait over 30 minutes for their food is inexcusable. You’re in a central business district. Really dissapointing.

I got the kua kai here and it was pretty good. It would be one of the places I would go to really satisfy a craving. The only thing is that the wait is very long considering that it is a good cart. I had to wait 15 minutes for the food to come out and there were only 2 people in front of me. If they could speed up the process just a littlei could come here more often

Pretty great. It’s a bit spicer than I usually except from Thai food… But it’s good. you won’t regret grabbing a meal here. I’ll be back!

Wanted to like this place, but the Pad Thai I ordered was fairly sugary. In terms of spiciness, I ordered a 5(their maximum), which was somewhat spicy. The noodles were undercooked, so it was hard and chewy. Portion size isn’t as large as everyone else claims. You can find better at a different food cart.

I’m really a fan of the PADKEEMAO, so I was super excited to try their $ 5PADKEEMAO! I went there and I’m really satisfied with the test BUT the wait time was TOOLONG, I had to wait around 30 mins and I guess the average time is probably 5 mins per order! And I saw only 2people working in the cart :( I wish they cook faster! I would give it a try again when there is nobody in line…(T___T)

I can’t say much for everything else but the pad kee mao here is excellent, and a super steal at just $ 5. There’s a hint of sweetness that other places just can’t seem to get right that tastes very much like the homemade pad kee mao I’ve had in Thailand(minus the weird green peppercorn stalks that burn your face off, those I’ve never seen outside the Land of Smiles — thankfully. Those things are poison.) I’m still determined to try something else here if I can get past how awesome that one dish is. Maybe next time some Pad Kra Pao Kai Dao. Mmmmm.

I’m so traumatized by this place. First it smelled very odd, like sewage even though one or two food carts over it was smelling fine. Then when I was ordering I saw several flies swarming around that also weren’t at Dosirak so I’m pretty sure it was just Krua Bangkok. I ordered Pad Kee Mao($ 5) extra spicy since that’s my usual go to Thai dish. First bite in and I almost spit it out. It had the strongest, oddest buttery taste. I’m guessing it’s not butter but probably something cheaper like large slabs of margarine. I really thought I was crazy imagining a buttery taste in my dish since I’ve eaten many Pad Kee Mao’s in my life and have never even had the faintest taste of butter in the past, but another Unilocaler’s review on 9⁄1 by Amanda C. also had the same comment about their noodles. The flavor was just too odd for me and also the noodles were falling apart probably from being a bit overcooked.

I was excited to try this food cart based on the Unilocal reviews + they have duck as a meat option! I ordered the pad se ew which is what I typically get at thai places with duck. Unfortunately, it was INSANELYBUTTERY. I didn’t even know butter went into this dish. My friend who also ordered the pad se ew had the problem. So I cannot say for sure that all the noodle dishes will be buttery but when I had a second opportunity to eat here, I turned it down because I was nervous that all their noodle dish would be buttery. The duck was also not good at all — I probably should’ve stuck with chicken or beef. One plus — portions are good.

I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious this place was. I got the Basil chicken and my girlfriend got the drunken noodles with chicken. Both were great, but I think my basil chicken was a little better. The prices we’re very reasonable and they’re one of the few carts open near PSU on a Sunday. I highly recommend getting the fried egg that is offered with some dishes. It was my favorite part.

I’m a fan of their $ 5 noodle dishes at lunch time. I’ll admit my first time I was skeptical as I ordered tofu and didn’t realize they had given me chicken until I had walked back to my office(lucky a coworker was willing to take it from me). My visits since then have been successful on the protein end. I really enjoy the pad kee mao, finally a place that gets the right spiciness level! The veggies were fresh, noodles yummy, a decent amount of egg and nicely sliced tofu. This could be a 2 meal dish if you like a light lunch. I“m curious what their rice dishes are like such as the pra ram(peanut sauce) or cashew tofu. I’m happy I’ve found a cheap thai place near work.

This is one of my favorite food carts near PSU along the row 4th Avenue cartpod! They have the standard variety of noodle(pad thai, pad khee mao, etc), stir fry, and fried rice dishes(their tom yum FR is pretty bomb), AND some more rare offerings like duck, fish, and sirloin steak dishes. Plus, it’s just the right price for a lunch/dinner: just about everything is 5 to 6 bucks(in a ~5“x9″ to-go container enough for one person, or as a side dish to share for 2). The owners are friendly, the service is quick, and they’re open later than most carts(usually to at least 6−7pm) making this my go-to cart when I’m in the area.

Excellent. The PSU food carts has at least four or five Thai food carts just on one block. I haven’t tried them all but out of the few I have Krua Bangkok serves the best pad kee mao. They could not make it any more perfect if they tried. If you love veggies & tofu order this veggie style. Medium spicy is spicier than I expected but it wasn’t an issue since I love spice. Sriracha just wasn’t an additive I needed this time. The price is also perfect. $ 5 for a hefty, serving of steaming hot veggies, noodles, sauces, & spice to make pad kee mao the best Thai option at Krua Bangkok & quite frankly, on the block.

I think to date this is the best pad see-ew I’ve had in PDX. No joke, people. This is the real deal.(Goes well with tofu!) They also have this amazing thing called pad thai tom yum which is pad thai with tom yum paste in it(if your jaw is on the floor right now, mine was too when I first heard about it!) It’s pretty good too, but I think the pad see ew is still the top dish at this cart. How often can $ 5 buy you bliss? At least once… at Krua Bangkok.

This PSU food cart pod has lots of options for Thai(and more generally Asian) noodles. I’ve tried a handful, and hands down recommend Krua Bangkok’s pad thai over the others for flavor as well as value. $ 5 buys you a hefty portion of pad thai with your choice of meat/tofu. They’re good about making it spicy for those who want it or mild for those who don’t. If you’re up for a bit of an adventure, I recommend the pad thai tom yum, which is pad thai made with tom yum paste. Just gives it a little extra flavor and they add more veggies. I’m looking forward to branching out and trying more things on their menu. Here’s to hoping it’s all as good as the pad tha

Ordered Pad Thai with chicken, spicy. You can’t beat $ 5 for a full stomach. They cook to order so it can take a bit to get your food.

I am visiting Portland and saw this strip of food vendors as I was driving by. They were the only ones opened out of all of them on a Sunday afternoon. The staff was super friendly! We placed an order for pad Thai and a pork stew thing over rice. The bill came to $ 11 for two items! Such a great deal! The food was pretty food. Very flavorful but a tad bit salty. I asked for my pad thai to be spicy and it actually came out spicy! :) I was pretty happy and full afterwards.

I am saddened to report that not all Thai food carts in Portland are good. Their Emerald Fried Rice sounded good on paper, with veggies and tofu. However, their gauge on «medium spice» made it difficult for me to eat. In addition, the saltiness was occasionally overwhelming, nearly making it inedible for some bites. The fried tofu they used was also lacking in structure, making it seem nonexistent in the dish. Maybe I just ordered the«wrong thing» or they were not having a good night. I just can’t see myself coming here again, let alone recommend it. There’s just too many other good places to take a chance on this cart. Sorry Krua Bangkok.
