Very nice staff, friendly and helpful. However, food was not great. It wasn’t hot and it felt overcooked. I think they make a good effort but are lacking in the cooking area. I would not go back.

First off, I’m Peruvian and This is place is awesome! Been coming here since they opened and I’m always impressed by the menu and the quality of the food. The lomo saltado sandwich is delicious. The pan con chicharon is about authentic as it gets. Mad cheers!

I feel bad about submitting a bad review, and I’m not saying you won’t have fun if you go, I’m just saying I didn’t have fun, so I probably won’t go back. Here’s what my visit was like: I checked out the happy hour menu, and decided to ask about the naked Peruvian. I’m down for meat, especially in the context of Latin American, but when I asked if it was spicy the nice human said they could make it «picante». I was into that, so I ordered it. Then they asked what drink I wanted, which was kind of a surprise because the menu doesn’t have a drink minimum on it. I figured I was sufficiently tricked, and that they deserved an extra few bucks for making it seem so obvious(even though it wasn’t). Then I ordered a churro because I’m a good person. When I got my food(after I tipped real nice bc I know what it’s like to work happy hour and go home tired and broke because people don’t tip well), they told me they forgot to push the picante button, but I could put salsa on it. Um, I wanted it spicy, and then I wanted to put salsa on it. You sold me spicy. I want spicy. But I’m hungry soo I’m about to just eat this shit. I’m sure it’s good. It was mostly iceberg lettuce with peppery mayonnaise… and the salsa wasn’t very spicy at all. But it was citrusey and bright. More spicy than a lot of verdes though. I am sad because I feel like it’s meant to make white spice babies feel like they’re eating ~exotic~ food. I paid 8.50 for a sandwich and drink when I could’ve gone to the cart across the road and gotten more food and more spice. I know rent for a building costs more though. Plus it was warm. I liked that a lot. I loved the churro though. Get it if you’re there it’s just a buck and really great.

The food is delicious. Casual style dining. Everything I’ve tried is very tasty. The platos are my favorite, and they always have a few kinds of yummy juices to choose from. Definitely one of our favorite spots to go.

I was really hoping for better. The food was ok and the place was spacious. Things tasted a bit bland so I ended up eating a disproportionate amount of their different sauces. I went here thinking this is going to be my next go-to place but given Ali of the great options in this area we probably won’t be back anytime soon. I was also surprised how much we ended up spending for lunch(about 25−30% more than a comparable place).

I always enjoy my meals here. I do take out, and the limited service I get, is always fast and courteous. The food is always excellent. The pescado sandwich being my most frequently selected dish. The sauce on it, their«signature» is a favorite. I enjoy the sauce with a side order of yaquitas as well. My wife usually goes with a veggie option of some sort, and is also never disappointed.

Stopped here because it was convenient, and it wasn’t bad. The interior is really open and the décor definitely says Peru. The selection was alright, but the food was a bit bland. We got a burger and the veg plate. The burger was super plain in my opinion, and the veg plate wasn’t bad, but could have been more flavorful. The wait was fairly long, so I assume everything was made fresh, which is cool. Just didn’t really impress us.

Excellent food at a very reasonable price. Healthy organic ingredients. The menu is very basic and simple but more than enough for a street food restaurant. My favorites are the beef or chicken stir fries. Also they put a lot of effort on making the place look nice, colorful and interesting with traditional Peruvian stuff. They even have host live music sometimes on weekend evenings.

My fiancé is from Ecuador so he has high standards on south American food. He found it authentic and we both loved the food –easy for veg/vegan eating too. Fun to sit outside and make it a date cause they also have excellent pisco!

I love Peruvian food. While Las Primas says they are Peruvian I’m not sold. Hubby got the butifarra and was unhappy — he said it was pretty plain and without much flavor. And his fries were sort of a battered shoe-string style. Sadly, I had the same response to the corn empanada. Empanadas qualify as a favorite food category for me, but these were just weird. The pastry wasn’t bad but the filling was odd. The colour of lemon custard, no flavor to speak of, and only very occasionally I’d get a piece of corn. I also love quinoa but the quinoa salad was bland except for large slices of onion that were off-putting. My drink was okay — pisco with oj but I could’ve just gotten oj alone, paid half the price, and felt the same. There was not much pisco at all in that drink and, if you read my reviews, you know I like my liquor. I’m not a drunk but I want to feel that lovely warmth in my tummy and it was missing in this drink. But the most damning indictment of the place? Hubby had to make a sandwich when we got home as he was still hungry. $ 28 for supper and he was still hungry.

First visit and not to be the last. After browsing photos online of their food and drinks I decided I must eat here. I love Pisco cocktails and they have a number of choices being that it is the national spirit of Peru. The food is nice and I went for the chicken plate. It was tender and served with red quinoa, a yellow Peruvian sauce, salad, and baby roasted potatoes. I left feeling just right and happy. There are many more dishes I’d like to try here. The sandwiches look good and will probably be my next purchase. I tried their Pisco Sour cocktail and enjoyed that as well.

I had their happy hour butifarra. The pork sandwich was very bland and liquidy. I had to put a lot of sauce to make it taste good. Don’t know if I will come back.

This is a really homey type place. You bus your own table. But that’s not a big deal. The food was good. The thing that really stood out were appetizer special Chifles-fried plantain chips. Yummy alternative to french fries. They were thinly sliced and had this very starchy taste and crunchy texture that went well with the dipping sauce that accompanied it. I had the empanada plate. The salad was okay, nothing to rave about. The empanada was between good and delicious. The flaky dough was excellent but the stuffing inside just reminded me a a run of the mill vegetarian pot pie stuffing.

Delicious! My girlfriend is Peruvian and were we in Portland for a visit and decided to give this place a try. Although this place isn’t the traditional form of Peruvian cuisine, it is an excellent take on it. I ordered the fried pork, chicken empanada and to drink, passion fruit juice. My pork dish was delicious with the pork tender yet crispy at the same time. Upon further eating my pork dish, I found a quinoa salad at the bottom, I’ve never had quinoa with Peruvian cuisine, but it was surprisingly delicious! My empanada was to die for, especially with a yellow based pepper sauce they had. The only reason that I am not giving this place a total five stars is that my girlfriend didn’t enjoy her food(lomo saltado sandwich), she said it was a bit salty. If in Portland again, I will stop by but this time order a couple more empanadas!

I was pretty excited to check this place out. Honestly the pork empanada was pretty good and that was about it. I did not like the quinoa salad — bland and I hated hitting raw chunks of onion. We also got the potato leek soup which was thick and bland. There were these cute little girls playing fuz ball and not bothering anyone, and the waitress asked them to keep it down. So also not a huge fan of the atmosphere. I am glad we tried it anyway.

I LOVE Las Primas. They take care of my gluten-free needs, and serve up an AMAZING plate of food. If you are hungry order a plate with your choice of meat(or not meat). I haven’t had a choice that wasn’t just top notch – making you want more, and making you consider coming back the next day. Beef – so! good! Shrimp – mama! Tilapia – I could eat a whole school! Pork – so flavorful! And you get green salad with this phenom sauce on it AND quinoa/hominy dish AND these amazing homefries POTATOES. Add a cocktail of choice or a Inca cola. Heaven my friends.

The sauces are worth it all on their own. We started with fried plantains, which came in a decent sized basket for $ 3. Just that could have been a meal for me. It was fantastic! I had the beef sandwich and a side salad for the main. It is a rare occasion these days that I eat meat, but this made it oh so worthwhile. Tender and juicy and seasoned beautifully on a crispy roll. Seriously. So good. I tried an empanadas too, and found it enjoyable, but it couldn’t touch my sandwich. I’ll be returning for sure!

Corn and Lima empanadas are the way to go! My husband craves the butifarra on a daily basis. The fries are heavenly. Update: I am now obsessed with the fish Sammie.

I had been meaning to come here for a while, given my experience with Peruvian food in Chicago. It was a little quiet for a Thursday night dinner, but that just means more space for us! Definitely get the chicken.(If you’re vegetarian, get the vegetarian plate.) Enjoy the potatoes with their perfectly crispy skin., and indulge in the smoky, tender, moist chicken in all of its glory. The salad was good too, though nothing too memorable. The pasion(passionfruit + spicy vodka) was maybe a bit too spicy, but also very tasty given the passionfruit. It was enjoyable over time, but I don’t think I’d get it again. Overall, I had a good time here. The food prices are a touch too high for my taste, especially given the«serve yourself» format. Then again, it’s on Vancouver/Williams, so they gotta do what they gotta do.

I stumbled upon Las Primas with no expectations and was throughly satisified with everything. I had two sangrias for $ 5 each. They were very strong and I felt pretty buzzed after them(thats saying a lot coming from me). I also had their veggie sandwich that has some amazing cheese and the beef stir fry plate. Both so fucking good. I think I enjoyed the sandwich better because I liked how tasty the cheese was inside of it. Really good prices and not a long wait. Not sure why there are many bad reviews but I would definitely come here and again and empty out that sangria bucket.
