Good beer, awesome place if you are that type who thinks your dog is your child and you feel the need to bring the creature with you everywhere. At least this is an appropriate place to tot your fur child(stop being an idiot and taking your dog, however small, into the grocery store because you know it’s illegal to ask if it’s a service dog and no one can stop you, that’s just gross). The beer is pretty good, the space itself is fairly worn-in and well-used. The bathrooms are great if you are really drunk because you won’t care how dirty and vile they are, so I suggest you throw back a few pints before you hit the toilet. There is a good mix of college age to long-in-the-tooth folks. Not a bad place overall.

I love this place– super friendly people, great beer, amazing pizza, what more could you ask for? I like NY style pizza, my other half loves Chicago deep dish, Lucky Lab brings us together. Great, fresh toppings, i highly recommend it!

All I expect of bad food is that it reminds and makes me appreciate good. I was reminded of good pizza this evening. Beer selection ample.

The pizza was fresh and quite delicious. I had the pepperoni and the«meat» pizzas. The pepperoni was decent, with spicy, smoky sausage that played nicely with their creamy mozzarella and tomato-heavy sauce. The meat pizza was where they shined, however. The sauce base is a tangy, sweet bbq sauce with blue cheese, salami, and all the other good stuff. When the weather is nice, i like to take my dog to the Lab. She seems to like the place.

Service here is reliably lacking. The most recent example: We came in tonight to grab a quick bite after Christmas shopping, and the main dining room was full. «Is there seating available upstairs?» we asked. «Only when it’s full down here,» was the answer. «Like now?» I asked. After a bunch of behind-the-counter conversation, we made the choice easy for them – we told them we’d go somewhere else. The reply? «Oh, okay.» We went elsewhere and spent $ 90 on dinner and drinks for our family that we would happily have spent at Lucky Lab instead. The food is okay, the beer is good, but the employees – some of whom have been there for years – have always phoned it in, with few exceptions. So disappointing, and I’ll remember tonight when I’m looking for birthday party venues, family gatherings and places to enjoy Pizza Friday. I’d love to see this place turn around, but after many years, it’s officially off my list.

Pizza tasted decent but the staff was incompetent. Ordered a simple 3 topping pizza with there homemade root beer and a side salad with chicken. When we were served our food the pizza only had 2 of the 3 toppings, the salad had no chicken, and the root beer was flat. Not to mention after reviewing my receipt they charged me the wrong amount… Like I said, the food was descent once they resolved everything, but the overall experience was bad just because the staff didn’t have their shit together.

I’m surprised that I haven’t written a review for Lucky Lab. I’ve been coming here for years. Basically, the location is great. On a nice day, sit outside on the front patio, under a couple shade trees, and watch the people walking by. For rainy days, the interior is a large open dining room and stand-up bar in the converted 1925 Masonic Lodge. Play darts, or sometimes catch a show in the event space, upstairs. It is a fitting neighborhood gathering spot in the somewhat sleepy Multnomah Village. The food is mediocre and unfortunately the menu is limited, compared to the Hawthorne location. The beer is a little better and they have about a dozen house and guest taps. Actually, the Super Dog IPA is pretty tasty and probably their most popular. If you’re looking for a casual spot in a nice location, check it out.

This taphouse and pizza joint is constantly full of unleashed dogs, roving children, and chain-smokers. It’s also very loud inside. For some people this is heaven, for others it’s hell, only you can decide which camp you’re in. Decent selection of beers and a nice range of pizzas. Service is fast and friendly [after reading other reviews, I want to clarify I only ordered pre-made slices, not a whole pizza]. Nothing fancy, but it doesn’t have to be. Given the constant crowds this is obviously a neighborhood institution. However, Multnomah Village doesn’t have a whole lot of choices either. I hit this place up about once a year as a gathering place for a diverse group of friends, but I’m usually ready to go pretty soon because the interior is very loud due to lots of hard surfaces, and the outdoor space is full of people smoking in large quantities which seems quite odd with their kid friendly vibe.

Not my fist choice for pizza but the beer is pretty good and definitely a decent place to hand out with some friends. The front patio gets busy when it is nice.

Wow! I tend to love the razor thin pizza best but their thicker style pizza is pretty darn good!!! I am not a beer drinker so I don’t have too much else to say except I was pleasantly impressed w/the quality of their food!!!

Consistently the worst pizza by the slice in Portland. I’m not a pizza snob, but I’m just amazed at the poor quality of pizza I’ve had here despite the price. The beer is fine and the outdoor seating is decent(except for occasional cigarette smoke). If you don’t have minors with you and/or your pet, I don’t see the draw. Thankfully the village is getting 2 new pizza joints this summer. It’s about time.

Food was tasty and affordable; the service we received from the gentleman at the front register was unforgivable. This was our first time as the the Lucky Lab and had a few questions— all of which he answered with seeming disdain and almost an eye roll. Blah.

I was actually a bit disappointed during my visit. I expected more beer selections. I ordered a red, it was good but would have been much better in a chilled glass. It was hot out, warm in the pub, and the beer just wasn’t very cold at all. I did not want to drink on an empty stomach, so I ordered bread and hummus. The bread was hot and very tasty, but the hummus was the most garlicky I have ever tried to eat. It actually burned my mouth a bit. I had garlic breath all night and heartburn for two days. I think my experience would have been better with pizza and if the beer was colder. I have frequented the other two locations and been very happy with them. I will probably stick to the other locations going forward. Service was good!

Pizza is stupidly expensive considering that the majority of it consists of partially cooked dough. How it can be partially cooked when it takes 40 mins to an hour to come out is a mystery. I’ve been to this lab a few times and I’m over it.

Beer — good. Food — bad. Service — you go to the counter, so there isn’t enough of it to rate. Nice outdoor area. Eat before you come, or plan to go elsewhere for food.

Good food. Good beer. Unfortunately they will not make your party a pizza an hour and a half+ before they close(1hr 36min, specifically.) Even if you’ve had your parents and siblings drive across the city to join you. After patronizing the Lab for years, this has left a terrible taste in our mouths and we will not be coming back.

Basically the reason I come to Lucky Lab is: It’s good for a group gathering(aka book club) My kids will eat any kind of pizza It has a nice outdoor area There is so much better pizza in Portland. SOMUCH. I’d much prefer Pizzicato which is a chain but still way better. But there’s no ambiance soo. And I miss living in the east side where delish pizza was so much easier to come by. I’ve had the salads which are mediocre – I’m pretty sure the chicken was Tyson’s or something, it seemed like it had fake grill marks and was microwaved. I’m not really into beer so I usually get a glass of wine which I’ve never had a bad experience with(good prices, nice variety). Anyway, I’ll come here until there’s better options. The veggie pizza is very weak but I’ll eat it when I’m hungry and avoid salads in the future. Please for the love of God Multnomah Village, step up your food game!

Reviewing breweries in the Portland area is like reviewing wineries in France. One has the rare circumstance of great quality AND quantity. But review we must. I have been to all the Lucky Labs in Portland. There is not a vast difference between them all. Good beer, above average food, and a true pub atmosphere – spacious beer hall and long tables. However, the one in Multnomah Village possesses one flaw, a major one: No televisions. Now, I may hit up breweries to socialize and what-not, but I also gravitate towards breweries for major sporting events. Beer and college football are an unbeatable combination. Alas… Saying that, I still recommend any Lucky Lab. Any business, a brewery especially, which emphasizes pet ownership and goes all in with the theme deserves respect. Plus, regularly rotating beers too.

Pizzas are available whole or by the slice. By the slice is pre-baked, then warmed in the pizza oven as ordered. I don’t have an issue with that, but some may. Basic 4 or 5 styles that mix and match one or more ingredients almost on a daily basis. Helps keep up the variety, and I appreciate that concept. Great beer selection with Luck Lab brews and a few guest taps on rotation, sometimes some stand-outs, in my book. Available for growler take-away, in most cases. Indoor oak tables and chairs, and outdoor seating under umbrellas when the weather is nice. If a knock against indoor seating, it can get loud at times if a kids birthday party shows up(which is often), but the real knock may be tabletop cleanliness. They can get sticky, so be prepared to wash them down yourself. Pizza is fantastic, brews fantastic(especially the old«No Pity» Pale Ale), service is super fast, and the old church-turned-pizza pub atmosphere is really cool. Maybe even makes the pizza dough rise a little better. :-)

Below average beer and average pizza. Nice atmosphere for just hanging out when it’s empty. Once it’s busy it’s way too loud to have a conversation with anyone. Outdoor patio is just okay. Too dark for my taste.
