Not really impressed. Went in there with a coupon from The Entertainment Book, and they wouldn’t honor the app on my phone. They did have really good tacos, three for $ 5, and since I was looking for a cheap lunch, I thought, «Yay, maybe I don’t need a coupon after all.» After getting a side of beans & rice, along with a soda, my total came up to $ 15. My roommate got a taco salad and a soda, and all together $ 25 for lunch for two. This is a really expensive lunch for this neighborhood. The service was not good at all. We originally went there because they advertised that they were a Cuban /Mexican restaurant, which is not true. The cook refused to cook anything Cuban on the menu. Then after taking 25 minutes to make three tacos, rice beans, and a taco salad, the food finally came,… in stages. After the food was delivered, the server promptly started mopping the floor around us using large amounts of Pine Sol, so that all you could taste or smell was cleaning product. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Service was great! The food not so. I was hoping that the last bite of my molcajete plate I ordered was better than the last sadly wasn’t. The plate came with rice and refried beans… The rice was soggy and over cooked, the beans tasted canned. The molcajete was bathed in a tomato cheese broth with seafood such as shrimp, octopus and fish. The broth was ok, but nothing special. The fish is what made the whole plate mediocre, the fish tasted like frozen fish sticks that where added to the broth as if they had run out of the intended fish for the dish and replaced it with the fish sticks. My husband had the ropa vieja dish which was ok. The side rice with mixed black beans was really good the seasoning was on point. The Yuca was seasoned deliciously great but the yuca it’s self had turned bad. I tasted it in a heart beat. The owner was super nice and friendly, which she insisted that we try the«Cuban flan» which we caved, she insisted that it tasted differently from the«mexican flan». Honestly the worst flan I have EVER tasted, couldn’t get past the refrigerated taste that the flan had absorbed… Sweet owner and friendly service, the food not at all worth it.

Apparently a dance club on Saturdays. I came in to order to-go food. Lots of space, a damn fine Margarita while I waited, and nice people, even with a language barrier between us. We ordered some enchiladas, nachos and the crab legs in garlic sauce. I’d skip the crab next time, as it was kind of dry-but altogether a great meal, with some options you don’t commonly see. I do wish they would explain dishes a bit more on the menu, but they were very nice when asked. I would definitely try this again, especially with how close to home it is.

Tried Luna Azul for the first time tonight after not being able to find it on a previous try. Very difficult to find and their sign is dark so it doesn’t help. However, very glad I tried again! Food and service was great. Prices are reasonable. Would be nice to have a vegetarian option. Would also be great to have a local IPA in the beer selection, but that won’t stop me from going back again.

The hours are wrong! We just finished having a late lunch on Saturday. The place is empty except for another table, but the food is awesome! My boyfriend and I shared a mocajete which is like a seafood stew served on a hot rock bowl and a seafood ceviche. Everything was delicious! Will definitely coming back!
