Reminded me very much of a West Elm meets Restoration Hardware meets EQ3. It’s a nice enough store, but overpriced for what they charge. Though they do smell wonderful. And I wish I could afford some of their items. But I’ve found affordable alternatives at Target, so I can’t really validate purchasing items from stores like this. Still, a gorgeous store. Worth a browse if you enjoy the home good types of store.

I like the store but have found that they’ll only greet you if you’re a monied-looking white person. I don’t usually feel welcome there, sadly.

I love this store. It looks good, it smells good. I would date it if it was a man. Casually elegant, there is something for every budget here. The style is eclectic — a mix of East coast beach house and mountain retreat in Sun Valley. Its soothing and inviting and utterly stimulating. I would agree that the service can be hit or miss. I have been both ignored on some visits and treated very professionally. I took off a star for that.

Can I move in? I have excellent references and a stable rent history… Well curated home/lifestyle store. They offer everything from sofas(so sleek and classic and comfortable) to candles and soaps, and everything in between. Great selection of jewelry and bags as well. Prices tend to be on the high side, but they do carry more affordable gift items too. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I’ve been to this store a few times over the years, and was not at all prepared for this… I went in around Christmas time looking for a lovely gift for my partner and found they where selling HERMES and CHANEL lacquered boxes and trays. I was a bit stumped so I inquired about them. The sales associate said something to the tune of «We get them from a man who worked for Hermes and has the authorization to use and reproduce the logo» What? Im sorry. Neither Hermes or Chanel would ever allow that. Where else other than a Hermes boutique can you purchase Hermes home goods. No where. Sorry thats just tacky. Trying to pawn off obviously fake and counterfeit goods as «authorized» is disgusting. Tacky Tacky Tacky.

My birthday is coming up: Santa Maria Novella«Kyoto» fragrance, please. It’s only $ 125. You love me, don’t you? If you guys want to go in on something, I’m particularly fond of the couch that’s placed directly in front of the door of Manor as you walk in. As I stretched out in it, admiring a depth close to twin bed wide, I thought to myself«Hmmm…I wonder how much.» My mother, sensing impending puppy dog eyes, whispered«6−2−4−0.» No dollar mention, just numbers. And those numbers weren’t missing a decimal point. But think of how durable it would be, dudes. Very Husky and kitty friendly with its vaguely burlap looking upholstery. You would totally have a place to crash at my house! Kim V AND her mom could comfortably sleep in it and probably not disturb each other. Then there are: the gold-rimmed plates embellished with knife and fork($ 65 per). No? A $ 200 throw pillow? Still no? Look, I get that this place is aspirational living for the vast majority of us Yeeps, and a lifestyle to which a lot of you might not even aspire. I think it’s thoughtfully selected, the staff pretty egalitarian considering the atmosphere and it’s fun to poke around in. And I will still be your friend even if you craft me up a bday present, not buy me $ 50 glassware from Manor. Where you stand in the rankings though…

I.love.this.shop! Yesterday was the first Small Business Saturday, an «event» sponsored by AmEx. The deal was, if you registered your card for the event and shopped at an independent local business, you’d get a $ 25 statement credit. I don’t even know if Manor was participating, but I decided to give them more of my money, regardless. Being the only local seller of Farrow & Ball paints, Manor was perhaps destined to be the home décor store of my dreams. They stock the little sample pots of this handcrafted English paint, and gallon cans, too. Staring at the array on the shelves, imagining the possibilities, is this color junkie’s dream! But that’s just the beginning. Manor is not a big shop, but they have lots to offer in the modest space. Yesterday I bought the Rizzoli book about The Velvet Underground I’d spotted the last time I was in(the AmEx event was how I justified paying full price for a $ 50 book, see?), two sample pots of paint, and the sweetest little music box mechanism that plays«You Are My Sunshine» when you crank the wee handle, an impulse buy I intend to give to a dear friend who gets very sad sometimes. The women who work at Manor have been unfailingly pleasant to me, and they seem to put their hearts into wrapping gifts for their customers. Yesterday a man was delighted by the job Lauren did for him, which reminded me of the time I bought a very oddly shaped gift, and another gal figured out how to do it up beautifully. That day, when she turned around from the wrapping station and handed my purchase to me, I honestly felt like I was the one getting the present. Manor is decorated for the holidays now, but it was just as wondrous on my two prior visits. Lovely lighting, twinkling glassware, homey yet elegant textiles, books, books, books, and more. This is not a store I could ever leave empty-handed. But you don’t have to spend a ton to go home with a treasure. You must check it out!

Make sure you’re dressed to impress when you shop at this store. Otherwise expect to be completely ignored by the sales staff no matter how long you stand at the counter(even with three of them behind it chatting amongst themselves). At least that was my own experience last time I was there. Usually I just browse because they have some lovely items. But this time I was there to buy something and that was the treatment I received. What made it even more insulting is the sales associate’s response when I sad something – she was very snippy and rude in return. I will take my money elsewhere.

Been there, done that. It’s not my usual type of place, well, it might have been my type of place when I was living in L.A. with a more corporate career. These days, I usually wouldn’t step in to a place like this, it’s a high end, home décor place and that’s currently not me. But I had to go in, actually, at first I walked by and turning the corner to go to the toy shop next door, oh no, another door to Manor, I stepped in and beelined my way to what had originally caught my eye, a wonderful high chest that looked like an old steamer trunk lovingly turned into an amazing piece of useful art. I’m not into things made with cow hides and leather, hell, I’ve was a vegan for umpteen years, but my oh my, it was quality and beautiful. Of course the price reflected this, something like $ 3,300, but who am I to judge what a piece like this should sell for. Anyway, if this is your type of place than its a 5 star place, I gave it only 3 stars because of my personal lack of needing this kinda stuff. If you are an animal lover, a thrifty shopper, or don’t need items like these, then skip it all together.

A lovely shop with very attentive and helpful salespeople. This is also the only place I believe in Portland that sell high quality Farrow and Ball paint.

Manor Fine Wares is one of the loveliest shops I have ever had the pleasure to go to. I could spend hours walking around looking at the beautiful linens, amazing light fixtures, interesting antiques & great curious items. I can always find the perfect gift for everyone on my list all while being treated to tea & espresso and the friendliest customer service.

Lovely high end items at high prices but beware – we were misinformed and wish we had never purchased a very high priced piece of jewelry here… be certain you get EVERYTHING they promise in WRITING… I’ll never visit them again… once burned is enough.

What a beautiful and inspiring store, Manor is! The location is really perfect and gets nice light to show off the gorgeous products in this lifestyle store. There is really sweet jewelry in the cases near the register, there is furniture all through out the store and really nice pillows, a nice line of VOC-free paint by an English paint company and so many other goodies that I must go back to see… again and again. I really love this store and the sales staff was very friendly and informative. We received much quality info. on the aforementioned paint which we will go back for. It is so nice to receive such nice service.
