Michelle’s On Fifth

This little store is conveniently located near our hotel, so I would stop in occasionally for things like milk for our coffee and donuts. Before my coffee and really waking up, I head out to get stuff for breakfast in bed ala Portland.
I met the nicest lady here, who completely brightened my morning. I assume she was the owner. I enjoyed our conversation and will always come back and shop the small shops like Michelle’s over the 7 – 11’s and chain stores downtown.

Psst… if you liked to sneak in snacks and cheaper sodas to movie theater and just happen to be you are going to downtown theaters… Michelle’s will have snacks and drinks that you are looking for.
Price for 2 Kit Kats, 2 string cheeses, a bag of Chex Mix = $ 4 something. Wayyyyyy cheaper than the «cinema» snacks. Don’t tell anyone I give you this information. this is top secret.

I walk past this place on the way to work almost daily. This seems to be a favorite place to buy a pack of smokes or cigarettes downtown for a lot of people. They sell newspapers, drinks, some snacks but cigarettes are the key. They seem to have a variety of tobacco products. It’s a quaint little shop. I don’t smoke but I certainly noticed it.

I smoke Nat Sherman’s Natural Mint cigarettes, which are kinda hard to find. Luckily, Michelle’s is open from 6am to 9 or 10pm, which means I can pick up a pack any time of day. Their prices are a bit higher than some other places, but the convenience of the location (right across the street from Pioneer Place) brings me here at least every couple of weeks to grab a pack. They also have a decent supply of snacks and drinks for people on the go. The sales staff are friendly enough, and I’ve never had a bad experience here.
They don’t have matches, though. It’s weird. They sell lighters, so it’s not a big deal, but still. No matches?
