Our kiddo has been playing with Milltown now for three fall seasons and two spring seasons, I think. It seems like forever, really, it’s just such a part of our lives now. Milltown serves the Bethany/Cedar Hills area in Beaverton around highway 26. Girls from several schools participate on my child’s team, it’s fun to mingle with new kids and families outside our immediate neighborhood. Princess really enjoys soccer and we appreciate Milltown’s genuinely cool attitude about team sportsmanship and kids playing to have fun. This is recreational soccer, for kids, and it’s not ugly. Parents and kids are encouraged to be good sports, kind to one another and to the other teams, and to have a good time. We have observed this is not true of all the local soccer clubs that we have played over the years. Enough said. Princess’ father has enjoyed this so much that he started out volunteering as a helper, moved to assistant coach, and for next fall has volunteered to be the main coach. They offer coaching clinics often and are very helpful to parents who want to participate. Princess’ father never played soccer before, and now he is really a fan. We also like that some members of the Timbers have volunteered to work with the kids from time to time. My kiddo got to work with Freddie Braun, who was absolutely awesome to the girls. It costs about $ 75 a season, which we think is totally reasonable.
