Love the ambience. Don’t know how the pub in England are like but this place makes it feel like one with the exception of no one speaking in a English accent. Maybe that would have been a downer if they did.

This is one of Portlands few remaining bars that doesn’t feel like it’s been transplanted from LA or Seattle — not pretentious or trying to be something it’s not, with attentive service. Today I went with some girlfriends on one of PDX’s first scorchers of the summer — the A/C was on full blast and the dog-friendly patio had plenty of room. We didn’t even have to go inside to reorder! Only reason it didn’t get the full five was I wasn’t inspired by the food menu to order anything, but that doesn’t mean that their food isn’t good, I just haven’t tried it.

Leave your judgements and pretenses at the door. Words cannot describe the elegant charm and dedication to quality service this public house holds behind it’s plain doors. Go here for a true, wholesome pub experience.

Best Irish pub in Portland. I know, it’s a ‘british’ pub. The sessions here on Sunday and Monday nights are as good as any you’ll find in Ireland. I know.

We stopped by before a movie at the Hollywood theater. We ordered the fish and chips, for $ 13.50 we got 1 small piece of fish and a plate of fries. Taste wise, it was run of the mill fried fish and I’m not sure why they even offer a half order since the full order is hardly any fish to begin with in the full order. There are WAY better deals in town for food, I definitely won’t be returning for food again.

I want to like this place but just don’t… I dread friends who always seem to want to go here. I just don’t get it. They always seem short staffed. This time it just seemed very challenging for us to get our server to come to our table. She was by nice when she finally come over. I don’t drink beer… yep, I am THAT person. I do, however love their framboise martini which is well made. Their food is not impressive… at least their fish and chips isn’t. On top of it being meh I was almost angry at the portions. Me and my friend sitting next to me ordered it… me, full order and she got the half order. They were both the same size but one was served on a smaller plate. If friends did not demand we meet here, I would not willingly go here… especially when there are some great places nearby.

I came here late night for some food and drink as I live in the neighborhood. I sat at the bar, ready to relax. The bartender came to take my order, and I asked about beers on tap. She instructed me to get out of my seat and look at the beer list which was across the bar, instead of telling me the possibilities. I did, decided which beer I wanted and when I returned, my seat had been taken. I found another(a little annoyed) and ordered some fish and chips from the same bartender for dinner. After one moment, I asked her what the difference between a half order and a full order was and she said, «Well, you already ordered and I already put it in so its too late.» Not coming back.

The bathrooms aren’t completely disgusting, Yay. The food is… British. The pasties and cottage pie are good, not amazing. But it’s a pub! Comparatively, this bar food IS amazing. But when you’re looking for great food for a date, I’d say hold off on this joint. The décor is a combination of antique beer ads and sort of rustic furniture. Which brings me to seating, it’s tough to find a good spot, mostly it’s an issue of comfort. My buddies and I had people spell beer on us constantly cause it’s so cramped. At least it’s interesting beer. The beer selection is great, it takes up half the menu. When you see a group sampling a lot of it, steer clear of the dart board area when they play lol. The dartboards are located between the door to the smoking area(which has a outdoor heater) and the unisex water closets or wc(restrooms). The service is hit and miss, bartender is friendly and the cook himself may deliver your food to your table. Oh, and the menu isn’t joking when they say ‘slow food’. Syoy

What age great spot for dinner drinks and darts. We connected up with some friends for the three. We started off the nite with the curry fries and the rarebit. I was slightly disappointed with the fries because the curry was just a dipping sauce and was good but was expecting more of a gravy style. Idk maybe I’m just crazy. The rarebit was good as well but it’s a version of cheesy bread hats pretty darn tasty. Moving onto the main dishes the four of us ordered the cheese sandwich, full order of fish and chips, the roasted chicken and of course the Bangers and mash. Each dish was fantastic I would liked to have seen the fish cooked a scosh longer or dried different so that it stays crisp but that’s me just being me. I swear the mash must have been a five pound sack of taters. The Cheese sandwich had some good sharp cheddar and was delicious served with crisps(American chips). That roast chicken was amazing so herby and delicious. Skin was nice and crispy and not greasy at all oh and the carrots that came with it were like butter so soft and delicious. We ended the night with darts and that’s a lot of fun when uve been drinking lol.

Haven’t been here for a while, went back after about six months — so disappointing! I used to like the bangers and mash here, but this time the«mash» was instant. and not at all good. My counterpart ordered fish and chips, but received a single fish stick with fries. All-in-all, the beer was good, atmosphere was okay, but won’t be back to this ol’ spot.

Moon is on our regular rotation. Food is always better than average, and the rotating taps are worthy. Tshirts for $ 10, can’t beat that! 3 dart boards and a large patio out back… if you are a smoker that is. Too smoky for this non-smoker.

Do you crave bangers and mash and cornish pasties covered in delicious brown gravy? Or maybe a smooth Guiness to swig down a traditional plate of fish and chips doused in malt vinegar? Then this dimly lit British pub is for you. The food is fantastic. If you’re considering splitting a plate, don’t bother – you’ll end up ordering your own. It’s that good. In fact, I enjoyed my food so much that I wanted to order a section serving to go. I give it four stars because the beer selection is just okay. When I go to a British pub, I hope to be welcomed by a wide selection of European brews. I enjoyed an Old Speckled Hen, and of course they have Guinness on tap, but the other draft options were limited. I’ll have to check out what bottles are available next time I’m there.

Authentic British pub. The food is great! They have a mostly carnivore menu, but vegetarian options. Not sure about vegan. I only wish they still had Strongbow hard cider on tap.

Would totally come here again when we are on this side of town. It’s been a crazy month and I wanted good British food and this place hit the spot. Staff was really nice and checked in us many times unlike allot of places we go. Good was super good. Thank you!

Being British, I wish there were more beers and food available :( Overall good though. Got the bangers and mash and it needed way more gravy on my mash!

This is a great, old school pub. Good service and good drinks, can’t go wrong here. Lots of old wood on the bar and a some dart boards in the back gives this place a great feel. Easy place to just hang out and relax. Will come back again when I am in this area of town. You should come by and check it out.

A very authentic British pub experience right down to the wooden seats and old photographs on the walls. The food was excellent. The Cornish pasty(which both my husband and I ordered) had a lovely crust and was filled with ground beef and root vegetables. It was served with a delicious brown gravy. The service was great. Very friendly. The waitress suggested I taste test the ciders before choosing one which was a very nice gesture. Lots of beers on tap and in the bottle. The bread pudding for dessert was fabulous and the portion size was incredibly generous. The accompanying sauce was also very good. I highly recommend this establishment.

The best British Pub in town. Why do I like it so, it’s got character in the right places — it’s clean. It’s a little dark, but not too, the barkeeps are friendly and helpful. They can pour beer — shake cocktails — sell you a single cigarette. I love their rotating draught beer selection. They offer Nitro and beer on Cask, too. I find myself chatting with some regular customers quite often if I’m there solo. Their food is pretty generous. I have tucked into some happy hour snacks with a friend. We had the Scottish Egg and something like a Pigs in a Blanket -(it was creative, delicious, and indulgent). I’ve not had a full on entrée — but the portions look legit. They have a somewhat separate dart throwing area, where they have league play, too. Bonus feature at the Moon n SixPence — Outdoor Patio. It’s huge. You’d almost never know they have one. Bear left towards the dart throwers — it’s fantastic.

I stopped by here after a meeting, on the way back to the airport. I grabbed a seat at the bar, which was mostly full already just after opening. They have a lot more beers on tap than I expected, but I went for an old«stand by» Guinness & a pie. I figured i ate enough pie & mash to know what good and what is not. Right iff the bat, I knew this pub was a winner. The bartender poured my Guinness perfectly! A+ I ordered a Welsh rarebit to start. It came out a little too toasty… But what I could eat was pretty good.(At least I still had my guinness) I then ordered a steak & mushroom pie… I was surprised that it came with a salad and not mashed… But OK, i’ll try. The pie was outstanding! The salad was salad… IF my pie came traditionally… with mashed & peas, this would have been a 5, in-spite of the over toasted rarebit. The service was great, even with the amount of customers and only 1 bartender. And the customers!!! I sat next to a group of local regulars, from Scotland originally by their accents, who made me feel welcome and like I belonged there. A great place for a perfectly poured Guinness and some real tasty food.
