Me and my worker go out of our way to this particular food cart to order our usual, catfish, fries and cornbread. The catfish is crispy and tender. Cornmeal rather than batter. Very delicious! The fries are good, and the cornbread is good. We appreciate most about this place, is that the food consistantly tastes great as we keep coming back. We plan on trying the fried chicken, mac & cheese, and beans & rice on our next visit. The only thing we wish they sell is collard greens

We were wandering around Cartlandia on a cloudy Friday night looking for something warm and delicious to eat. This cart caught my eye because fried catfish! I immediately ordered a 2 piece with a side of mac and cheese and cornbread. It took about 10 minutes but came out piping hot. The catfish was fantastic! It had a crunchy coating that was fried to perfection. The mac and cheese was melty and creamy with big noodles. The cornbread was perfection. I made my own cornbread the week before and it wasn’t great. I had to convince my 2 year old to try their cornbread since she had most recently eaten mine. Once she took a bite I never got it back, so good. Next time I’m getting a 3 piece and fries!

Today I decided to venture into Cartlandia with my kids, ages 17 and 25. We decided to try Ms. T’s. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and great senses of humor. We decided to try the fried chicken, mac and cheese, potato salad and chicken strips. They cook their food to order so we waited at our table for the food. The 10 minutes was well worth it! The chicken was so crisp and perfectly seasoned and the inside was so moist and juicy! The Mac and Cheese was cheesy and pure deliciousness. The potato salad wasn’t overpowered by mayonnaise or mustard, it was so tasty! My son is a pretty picky eater but really loved their chicken strips, which were huge! He is a big, athletic, kid and was full after eating two of them! They had a steady line of business which seemed to be their regulars which says a lot! We will definitely be going back! Did I mention that it is well worth the money?! We were all able to get meals for around 24 bucks! I would suggest you go try it out!

Service is awesome. The two ladies who work here are great. Every time I’m craving fried chicken I come here. The Mac and cheese side is amazing and so is the corn bread. I’m not a huge catfish fan but I did try it. It was nice and tender and good flavor.

Stopped by and got the catfish, mac and cheese, and potato salad. Very impressed. I’m pretty critical of southern food being from Texas. The catfish was cooked perfect. Crispy And full of flavor. Mac and cheese perfectly done and the potato salad was amazing. Stopped by again and made the very hard decision to try the chicken(catfish was so good hard to pass on it) the best chicken I’ve ever had(again I’m from Texas) only problem was my daughter(who won’t eat anything) ate most it. This is only my 2nd post so it takes something special to make me post.

I’m from The South. The very deep South, Mississippi. This is my favorite place in PDX for fried chicken and catfish, because they do in right… as in correct. The fish is cornmealed, not battered. The chicken in seasoned and floured lightly. Everything is cooked to order. It is done properly. If you are looking for the best of the best soul food in PDX, it is here at Ms. T’s.

The owner of this awesome establishment is from greater Memphis, TN area, and brought this amazing food I grew up eating to Portland, Oregon! I was very excited when I found this food cart in Cartlandia, and have told tons of friends about it. If you want some good o’le Mississippi Southern Cooking, Fried Catfish & Chicken, Amazing Greens & Mac-n-Cheese, then Get to Ms. T’s! The food here is just like I cook at home in my Cast Iron skillet, and how my Grandfather cooked it on the many lakes in Mississippi! You will read some reviews that say, «Out of Food», «Long Wait», but if you want fresh food, and this is from any restaurant or food truck, they cook it to order. If you want drive through Fried Chicken, go to KFC. You want some great southern home cookin’ you come to Ms. T’s. Great Food is worth the wait, and this is GREATFOOD! Cheers Ms. T for bringing a piece of my heart to Portland!

Always something with this place. Always out of food, drinks, or a 20 minute wait… 20 minutes for chicken? And there’s no one standing outside? Last time I was there i saw someone get showerd with a coke that exploded. Thank god he was a cool guy. They didn’t even offer him food or anything. The food is good but the customer service is awful.

In the event you are looking for a fantastic piece of chicken, this is the place. She may run out of sides, but she always recommends a tasty substitute.

Ordinarily, I rush to plead ignorance the very moment the topic of Southern food arises, since I simply haven’t had that many past encounters with it. Thus, I’m usually not entirely qualified to be making judgement calls as to the authenticity of whatever Southern dish(es) I happen to be eating at the moment. Luckily, Ms. T’s takes such comparative food snobbery out of the equation by serving seemingly simple, but very texture-rich and flavorful food. Is this a comfort food? You bet. Did it taste the way I expected it to? It tasted better. Much better. And even though I can’t comment on collard greens(they were out at the time of my visit), I can definitely attest to the superiority of their corn bread over every other iteration I’ve ever had and I can also confidently tell you that their fried chicken, potato salad and mac&cheese don’t leave a lot to be desired. In fact, it’s everything you desire and more. They also serve catfish and prawns, but I left those two options for my next gastronomic outing.
