I have a established a renewed love for omelets today. Normally I could care less for omelets. It just doesn’t do it for me. Too much egg, over indulgence on cheese and overall flavors are lost because of this! But not today, today my relationship just graduated a 7 year therapy course with an A+! The Portlander omelet here blew my mind. Just enough egg cooked to perfection, sharp Tillamook cheese, asparagus, spinach, bacon and I added chicken sausage for a little extra ummf. Add a little Portland ketchup and slap me around and call me Susan. Hello! Buffet is OK, but this omelet literally left my panties under the table. Just my 2 cents ;)

Multnomah Grille is located next to the lobby of the Doubletree by Hilton. It a busy restaurant for breakfast as the serve the two buffets(cold and hot) and other breakfast items. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, the food is a different story. Two breakfast that I had were either greasy or bland. My friend’s orange juice had a soapy after taste and his breakfast was terrible. Don’t bother with this place.

Hated it… ok…maybe it wasn’t that bad… but the service was bad… LOL. I’m like they just left me at the table and didn’t tell me what I was supposed to do. I guess that’s what I get for a free breakfast. The buffet bar wasn’t bad… however it doesn’t taste the same on a daily basis… I went 4 days in a row… and the bacon changed everyday. I guess they cook the best stuff on Monday because that was the best day. I got a steak and cheese omelette one day… and I am still taking Imodium 2 days later… I won’t go back until this place unless it is free.

Really nice for a hotel restaurant. The breakfast buffet is really expansive, and a deal at $ 13, all-inclusive. Service was lovely all three mornings that I was there.

Food is good, no complaints. Morning breakfast buffet cheap $ 13.00 and you can order any style egg you like other then what’s on the buffet line.

Multnomah Grille is located on the first floor of the DoubleTree Hotel at Lloyd Center. We love going to this place. Ambiance is very nice. Our favorite waiter is Doug. He is nice and very attentive, making sure we are served well and get what we need. Another favorite server is Leah, but she has retired and we missed her so. The buffet lunch table is popular among office workers around the area, hotel guests, and event planners who hold conferences in the hotel. Fruit and salad bar/soup/bread lunch buffet is $ 8.95 If you have a big appetite, go for the full lunch buffet for $ 13.95 which includes at least four different hot entrees with all the trimmings, the salad bar, the desserts… a good deal considering the quality and variety of the delicious food. Refreshments are extra. The entrée menu changes everyday. Call first before you go because it’s not everyday anymore that the lunch buffet is being offered.

While we enjoyed the rest of our stay at the hotel, including the adjacent«Gather Food & Drink» lounge, the Multnomah Grille is this DoubleTree Hotel’s Achilles’ heel. I sort of guessed this going in. A convention-style hotel, the main offering for breakfast is a buffet. I knew better, and had counseled my traveling companions to avoid it. But there was the one morning where our timing was off and we didn’t want to stray … and so we succumbed. What a letdown in such a breakfast-y town as Portland. While they offer an a la carte menu, clearly the buffet is the focus. There are two buffet prices: one for continental, and one for everything. Our server, though we had menus, presumed we were going to the full buffet, took juice/drink orders, and was off. And almost never came back. He did return after clearing other tables and serving just about every one else in his area … finally bringing the cream for our coffee(which was getting cold), and the wrong juices(two orange juices instead of one apple juice), meaning he wasn’t even paying attention to that one detail. It’s a breakfast buffet; this should not be this difficult for a server. He seemed in the weeds the whole time, which seemed odd given he had almost no responsibilities.(Well, he would have had responsibilities if he was checking to see if people actually wanted the buffet, or would have preferred items from the a la carte menus still sitting on our table.) There were a few not-the-usual kind of items on the buffet(a premixed berry smoothie, and a mixed-fruit parfait stood out), although they had a very hard time keeping any of it stocked — and they were not even close to busy. They were more than willing to let things run out before even thinking to replenish. There was a «make your own omelette» promise for the price, and ingredients were present — but no clear way to make said omelette, nor anyone to ask. I can’t speak to other meals, as we never tried lunch or dinner. I was afraid to. If you’re here, do yourself a favor and walk a couple of blocks to someplace awesome like J Café, or a bit farther to the popular Cadillac Café. You’ll enjoy it and save a lot, too.
