OMG?!? Computer Repair

So I had quite the adventure. My baby broke my laptop. I brought it in to OMG. They fixed it but broke the glass during the repair process. They were very apologetic and replaced it. When I got back to L.A. the replacement glass popped back out. They set up a repair REMOTELY from Portland IN LA and took care of the costs. Very good customer service. Honest people. I would come here again when I’m in town and I break a computer.

I needed my Macbook Pro repaired. I was referred to OMG Computer Repair for quick yet quality repair. I was thoroughly satisfied with the whole process. I called and got an appointment the same day. He gave me a quick diagnosis (likely hardrive problem) and got me my laptop back in two days. Price was very reasonable ($ 200). I would definitely recommend OMG Repair and would go there again.

My hard drive was dying — an internet search told me that the S.M.A.R.T. error on my Mac meant the drive’s days were numbered. Michael answered my inquiry email promptly, I made an appointment for the next day, he confirmed the diagnosis, made suggestions for improved performance as long as I was putting in new components anyway, and it was ready to go in a couple of days. He reloaded all my files and applications from the back up I’d brought in and charged a very reasonable price. I have a new, bigger drive, more ram, and my computer is frisky as a new pup. The location is handy from the freeway and street parking is readily available right outside the door. I will absolutely go back. I am very happy.

My old ASUS computer’s power connection failed. Geek Squad quoted me $ 240 to fix it plus my computer would be gone for 2 – 4 weeks. I emailed Michael who got back to me immediately with a quote and an appointment time. Michael is professional, personable and easy to work with. He said it would take 2 – 3 hours to fix my computer… it took an hour. The price was very fair and my computer is working like new. He saved me hundreds of dollars plus I did not have to make do without my computer. When I need computer services again I would go back to OMG?!? Computer Repair in a heartbeat. Michael is the best… he has my highest recommendation.

I first emailed OMG! about my tablet. Found out they do not work on tablets– but got a splendid recommendation for where to take it. Oh, and they responded within hours. I sent feedback to OMG! about their recommendation and, again, they replied to my email. My laptop has been super slow so I emailed to set up an appointment to get it looked at. Great communication from OMG! lead to my bringing the laptop in. Michael checked my computer, answered all my questions, and gave me excellent advice. He told me what he suspected is wrong and gave me options of what he could do. I decided to not get my laptop repaired. Michael probably spent a good half hour helping me. And did not charge me a cent! I highly recommend OMG! I received excellent service and sound advice. Don’t go anywhere else.

I called OMG and asked if they knew how to hook up modems and routers. They said yes. I hadn’t been able to get my new modem to work and I didn’t want to keep renting one from Centurylink. The young man, Michael, came and was very pleasant and sat down by my modem and he worked for over an hour then asked me to call Centurylink and ask if I was D or A something — at which time he finally told me that my modem would not work with my system as it was coming into the home. I paid him for his time but I was upset about this and expressed my feelings to Michael in a review and his response was to call and discuss it with me.
It’s difficult to have your business and Michael showed his integrity by being willing to listen. When he understood why I was upset about paying the full amount he said he would refund my money. I didn’t think that was fair. He had come out to my house and I felt I should pay their travel fee. So we were able to find a compromise and now I can bring my laptop for a cleanup and have the time on my account to use for my payment. I felt better, he felt better and I am able to recommend this company to others.
OMG stands by their work and by their willingness to engage in conversations with their customers.

My computer slowed down considerably over the course of 2 months and it was time for some help! Called OMG up (found them on here… had never even heard of them before) and they were able to get my computer in within a couple of days. Sat down with me, asked about the issues and got all info possible from me. Called me back within two hours to give me the diagnosis. Michael was very thorough and listed all possible problems and options. I didn’t feel pressured, but rather informed and free to make whatever decisions worked best for me. Michael communicated clearly and frequently with me throughout the whole process. The result was a «almost like new» computer at an excellent price! Such a difference and worth the little bit of money for an overhaul! Thanks so much, you guys! I’m already telling everyone I know about you!

So older hard drive making ca-​chunk, ca-​chunk. The drive I used to back it up had died just weeks before. I took it to a friend and basically he screwed everything and left it totally useless.
I began backing up the original drive when the noises started. OMG, now what? As a photographer I had tons of photos on the drive both client and personal work.
A good friend told me about OMG?!? and so I gritted my teeth and took the drive to them.
I was pleasantly surprised and one of the techs reassured me that while in some cases drives, even those that go ca-​chunk in the night, are recoverable.
I left feeling better and hopeful.
These guys were great, they called to give me updates on what was happening with the repair, they kept me informed of the quantity of files they were able to recover, and they gave me a running report on the transfer to a new drive.
They were able to recover it all!

Friendly, personable, and highly knowledgeable guys running this ship. Always easy to get a hold of, and none of that uppity sense of a technological superiority complex you encounter when dealing with most computer repair types (you know EXACTLY what I’m talking about).
Took my MacBook in after a coffee spill, but not after hitting up the Apple Store first. The store wanted a $ 755 ($ 655 parts and god-​knows-​what-​else, $ 100 labor) flat rate to send it off to wherever and replace whatever needed to be replaced, or cleaning whatever needed cleaning (remember, flat rate here, with no real diagnosis up front).
Took it to Michael and Craig, and they immediately got to work on it. After cleaning it out like a crime scene, they managed to get the ol’ girl up and running like a champ again. Their skills really be this «mad,» and I ended up saving ~$ 600.

I needed help with my sick Vaio laptop, so I did a Unilocal search and found these guys (with great reviews/​near my house) on Unilocal.They are the best!

I just moved to Portland and I needed some help getting my computer up and running as I’m not very computer savvy and OMG helped me out in a big way. Michael came to my house and not only was able to get it running but also did some things to make it run better. I highly recommend OMG!

I thought I left a review already but I don’t see it so I’m trying again. My computer «crashed» and I was not able to turn it on. It was an old computer but it had lots of files & photos on it so I wanted to get it fixed. Michael was fabulous! He found the problem quickly, and advised me I would pay more for him to fix than to buy a new one. He advised me on what I should look for in a new computer. Then he got me setup on my new computer AND was able to recover my files and transfer to the new one. I can’t remember the price, but it was very, very reasonable.

Excellent service — these guys are great — transferred my data — gave me good advice — very prompt — answered all my questions — quick turnaround. I killed my old laptop and they checked for signs of life (there were none — I did a good job) and then quickly transferred my data to my new laptop. Told me where to donate the usable parts of my old laptop and cleaned the hard drive.

I’m not sure why anyone would go anywhere else. These guys are experts and really make you feel cared about. I’m super pumped I found them after being ripped off for years getting my computer repaired by big businesses. Don’t go anywhere else to get your computer repaired, these are your guys.

I contacted the business by email yesterday afternoon, got an answer this morning and we went from there, didn’t even have to step out of the office. We did remote access and everything was fixed in less than an hour! I was expecting having my computer taken away for a couple of days and having to pay an arm and a leg, but when it all got done in one morning for a fair price I was very, very happy. These guys are awesome!

I teetered on this one because I was going to give Michael and his business 4 stars mostly for his lack of an actual brick and mortar location and I felt the whole having to make an appointment and rely on his actual presence was «for the birds,» but I digress Michael is virtually perfect in so many ways.
I had work on two Mac products (don’t worry he does a great job on PC products too) and his turnaround time and prices are remarkable! Both products were actually done same day and at a price significantly lower than most places I called and especially when compared to Orange County where I did most of my searching.
* Mac 1 — 2008 Macbook 13″ Laptop — Tune Up to clean and speed up which he did and quickly and everything works great and better.
* Mac 2 — 2008 Macbook Pro 17″ Laptop — Replaced LCD and did so flawlessly. You would never have known there was a problem in the first place. He also encouraged me to get a new battery for it since apparently mine was shot and not holding a charge anymore… and then bookmarked an inexpensive, but good one!
Michael’s communication is virtually unparalleled. He will not only remain in constant communication with you via email, text, etc., but he is reliable, knowledgeable, and dependable and will save you a ton of money in the future by finding products of good quality at less expensive prices that will save you money on necessities that you didn’t realize you had.

If I can give Michael 10 stars I would. My laptop was dying a slow and painful death. Over the course of several months, it was getting slower and slower. It was taking longer to start up and power down. Windows were freezing and applications was sluggish. I blamed in on Chrome, FireFox, QuickBooks, Outlook and everything I could think of. I thought it was a speed and memory deficiency. I thought it was a virus.
I use my computer for work so I could no longer put off getting it check out. When I took it to Michael one afternoon, he quickly diagnosed the problem: my hard drive was dying (thank’s, Vista!). The challenge was backing up all the files on my computer, which can take hours especially since my computer was on the verge of death and replacing the hard drive. I needed my computer for work so time was an issue.
Michael worked late into the evening/​night to get my computer back in working order. He made a late evening run to pick up a new hard drive and kept me updated via text and phone. I told him he can contact me as late as possible and he did. My computer was brand new the next day. He sat with me while I made sure I was able to access all of my files, my emails in Outlook, my QuickBook company files, Adobe software, etc.
The final cost was way less than what I would have paid anyplace else. More than anything Michael is really a nice guy. He wasn’t snarky or condescending at all. No question was too stupid to ask. His studio was spotless and inviting, not dusty and creepy.
He is on my speed dial for the next time his services are needed.
