They lost our order, took 30 minutes to get our food, the table next to us who came in 20 minutes after we arrived and ordered got their food 20 minutes before us, AND then they apologized for the delay, gave the 2 men I was dining with a discount on their check but didn’t discount my check at all. Probably because I’m a woman. lame. The food was cold and mediocre. I won’t be coming back here.

Comfortable, friendly, generous pours, and cute little bar tender. Just wish this place was walking distance from home. Stop in… you won’t regret it.

Possibly the best dive bar you never heard of. Remember the old«Eat now at Waddles» sign on I-5 as you pass over Hayden Island from Oregon to Washington? And remember how that signed morphed into an «Eat now at Hooters» sign when Waddles closed and the dreaded wing slinging short shorts with nylons chain took over? Well in that very building, behind the Waddles turned Hooters, is a tiny little dive called the Owls Nest. I ran across this place quite my accident going to a barbecue on someone’s houseboat, and I had to stop in to check it out. The bartender was super friendly, as were the patrons. She told me that this was a local regulars watering hole during the day, but transforms to another set in the evenings – especially on weekends. This is a dark, dank, windowless hole in the wall. They have a pool table, and 4 big flat screens, and lots of Lotto Video Crack stations. The walls are festooned with beer disributer’s typical beer advertising signage. But the drinks are cheap and stiff, and as I said, the folks are super friendly and chatty. I felt very much at home with these folks almost instantly. If you ever find yourself on Hayden Island – perhaps if you’re one of those who shop at Jatzen Beach – stop in a for drink.

This is a dive/sports bar with a Cheers type feel as there are many regular patrons. The bartender Jeff is fabulously funny and a brilliant mixologist. I would certainly recommend anyone to go here. Food can be ordered from the attached Hooters as well.
