I had a lemonade, olives, french onion soup, and an angry Sicilian sandwich. Every course was excellent. The house salad dressing was great and I do not even typically ike salad dressing :) ! Stop by for lunch if you get a chance … you will not be disappointed.

First time at Pestico, but definitely not my last. Amazing food but the staff alone is worth the trip. Sabrina is such a sweetheart. Had the beet salad and salmon served over a bed of parsnips. Can’t wait to come for another visit.

They do an excellent job with their sandwiches. Happy hour here is also magical. The easiest way to describe this place, is a solid sandwich restaurant. If I’m ever near lloyd hungry, and it’s close to 3pm… I go here. The sandwiches during happy hour(3 — 6pm) are only $ 6, which is an absolute freaking steal. They even come with a side salad!!! Please go. Do it for me. Do it for you. Do it for your wallet.

I walked here from my hotel on a Sunday afternoon and was only one of two patrons. The place is small but cozy, and the service was pretty quick. I had to try the french onion soup, which I am very picky about, and I was not disappointed. It isn’t thick like I like my french onion, but the flavors were wonderful. Best I’ve had in a while. I also got the tuna melt, which was tasty. I don’t think I’m well versed on tuna melts, as I didnt realize it was tuna SALAD on a sandwich, not just tuna… Still good, though! Good mimosa, plenty of food. I would come here any day for that soup, though. It’s also right down the street from a great frozen yogurt place, so make sure to save room!

The reason for 5 stars is the pie. Don’t get me wrong — the food was excellent as expected from the previous reviews(Angry Sicilian sandwich was the best) but the Atlantic Beach Pie was what really stood out for me. The Peanut Butter Pie was raved about at my table too. The service was excellent, and the ambience was just right. I look forward to another meal here soon.

Best hole in the wall. We stumbled upon this little spot during happy hour and ended up ordering a 3 course meal: A bottle of red wine, beet ravioli, a mozzarella and ham sandwich and peanut butter pie. Our bill for two was $ 38. Must go!

What great place to eat. I had the Pork Sausage and Porcini with Gnocchi $ 13 for lunch and the Atlantic Beach Pie $ 6 for dessert. The staff was friendly and food was served fast. I will eat a Petisco again!

I had a great lunch at Petisco recently with a friend. We came here during the workday and didn’t have a problem getting a table right away. Our waitress was very accommodating and friendly and the prices were pretty decent. They have a great selection of entrees, salads, and sandwiches for lunch that range from healthy to not-so-healthy… basically, you can find something for everyone here! I opted for a veggie portabello sandwich and loved it — the bread it came on was superb! At the end of our meal, we were gonna pop over to Eb & Bean(right across the street!), but the waitress convinced us to order their peanut butter pie… SO glad we did because this thing was pure chocolatey PB heaven and large enough to split between two people. Overall, a solid joint that I look forward to coming back to!

Small joint on Broadway, very glad to give this place a try instead of settling for something else like Chipotle. I was looking for a quick bite to eat and sit down at, luckily it wasn’t too packed here on a Saturday night and I was able to get my food ASAP. I ordered the white wine sangria: white wine, mangoes, and passionfruit flavors. That drink is pure $$$, really tasty and super good. I can drink a gallon of that stuff. For dinner, I ordered the hickory smoked ham sandwich served hot, comes on ciabatta bread with quality meat, mayo, and honey mustard. There was a hint of horseradish which sent a funny sensation up my nose, so it was a little difficult to eat at sometimes but it was easy to wash down with the juice. The side salad was excellent and the perfect portion. They serve other options like entrees and appetizers, but you can’t go wrong with a sandwich.

This is one of my local spots and a frequent brunch spot for me. Super quaint, unassuming little restaurant with good food, and it’s never too busy which is a huge plus for NE Portland brunch spots! French onion soup is delish. Great place for a simple low key breakfast or lunch. I’ve been here loads of times and never had a bad experience.

Had lunch with a friend. It was my first visit; very glad I stopped in. I ordered a salad with prosciutto and warm black figs. Not sure how the good have prepared it any better. Just the right portion. The dressing was subtle; there was just the right amount. My friend had a chicken salad sandwich; they held the mayo. He had a smile on his face. The service was prompt and pleasant. I felt at home. I will definitely come again.

Great place for a sandwich. I anxiously await an opportunity to join them for breakfast. I lived in Florida for a couple years and the Cuban sandwhich here is the best I’ve ever had. Fun ambience, very friendly staff and the food was great. I will definitely return.

My experience at Petisco wasn’t as I’d hoped, but because it might be my personal preference, I’ll still rate it 3.5-stars. When I arrived for lunch I noticed there were no seats available(even for 1 person). I was okay with waiting, but no one greeted me until I came to the counter to stop someone to ask for assistance(they were nice about it, though). I ended up ordering take-out, and got the Salad Nicoise. I’m definitely used to a different kind of Nicoise, so I didn’t enjoy it. My last Salad Nicoise was at Chez Machin, which uses a beautiful fresh tuna steak. Petisco’s was(in my opinion) basic field greens with a scoop of tuna salad that wasn’t great. I knew it before ordering, but was hoping the flavors would somehow work. Still, Petisco had a cool outdoor area which I’d like to try next time I’m there.

Everything was very good here except that damn speaker. But first… it is a very unassuming place. It is like a little hole in the wall European family restaurant complete with rickety chairs. There is also an area outside. And the inside is Air Conditioned. Great for hot days like today. There were only 3 working. The cook, the waitress, and the busboy/dishwasher. And they all three hustled. Some waiting but good service. We ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf with a wine gravy over mashed potatoes with red beet. We also had the Nicoise salad. Both were really good. As for the speaker… It looked like they had only one in the room and it looked like a desktop computer reject that had been blown years ago. They were playing some great music, I think, in an effort to add some more atmosphere. But what came out was tinny and distorted. I kept thinking… can’t they hear that? Despite the speaker the food was great and we will come back!

There is nothing better than sipping Petisco’s white sangria on their patio on a hot day. Pair that sangria with the hot turkey and brie sandwich and French onion soup and a chemical reaction will take place in your body that results in pure happiness. But then again, maybe that’s just the wine talking. Either way the food is delicious.

After a hard afternoon of helping my brother and his girlfriend move to their new place, we needed food. I hadn’t been in the Irvington neighborhood in quite some time, so I forgot what was around. I was thinking sandwiches and nothing hot, just because there was enough heat on a Sunday in July that no more was really necessary. A quick Unilocal search and I found Petisco, and lo and behold my brother had a review and they had been here a few times prior. Off we went. The sandwiches are the thing to go with. The menu is is eclectic European and the sandwiches heavy on Italian. I saw the Angry Sicilian and I didn’t look any further. Prosciutto, salami, sopressata, cappicolla, parmesan, red peppers, Balsamic and EVOO. All on fresh bread. We had the option of hot or cold and yes, cold was the way to go. The AS was a beautiful mix of salty meats and wonderfully tangy Balsamic vinegar with the roasted red peppers adding a mild accent. It was a perfect size and the side salad that was mixed greens and tossed in a vinaigrette went well with it. Add a couple of beers, Legunitas Lil’ Sumpin’ and it was a meal worth the going up and down stairs for way too many times. They also had a strawberry apple crisp with homemade vanilla ice cream that we all shared for dessert. The plate was dressed with powdered sugar and caramel. Excellent. Our server was good and the shade was appreciated. Overall I’d go back just to try more of those sandwiches. I also believe there’s a sandwich happy hour? That’s AWESOME! I will be back there soon. Enjoy!

Small, cute, nondescript restaurant with a limited but impeccable menu. Sandwiches, salads and a few special items are your dinner entrée choices. That may sound disappointing, but I’ve eaten here several times and have loved every dish I’ve tried. Most notably, they make red and white sangria, which is close to heaven. The white wine sangria is cold, refreshing and filled with sweet fruit chunks. Definitely my favorite item!

I’ve been here for dinner and brunch and have enjoyed both menus and experiences so much! Both visits were suggested by other people who also love this little spot! I’m surprised there isn’t a line for weekend brunch, but I hope it stays that way! I love that it feels like you are stepping into a wine cellar for the indoor restaurant which is darker, more moody/intimate but can enjoy the patio seating in the front of the shop where there is plenty of light and great space. Excellent service every time and food was fantastic and appropriately priced. It’s definitely worth the drive when you want good food alone, with a friend or several.

I want to bathe in their hollandaise! So fresh and delicious. I had the eggs Benedict with ham and arugula. Spot on flavors, perfectly cooked egg, delicately cooked arugula and nice shaved ham. My husband had the daily special — Al Pastor Hash. Also phenomenal. Delicious layers of flavor. Unique blend of a hash and Benedict-style eggs. Ambience is quaint, intimate and inviting all at once. Feels somewhat like a little French café. Small and polite staff. Food came out prompt. Wish I lived here so I could try more things on the menu.

This is a nice place to enjoy an outdoor meal – the room inside was a little stuffy and not well ventilated. However, the food was pretty good with a reasonable portion considering their price. I must say that their french onion soup was nice and cheesy! Lastly, the servers there were extremely nice and welcoming, which contributed to a pleasant dining experience for me.
