Service was good, place was clean. The mushroom gravy was super tasty and the Fries were really good. Not a huge fan of the sausage gravy and my there was a little too much apple sauce butter on my sandwich. Over all it was not bad. But not great.

I can’t deny the food was good, however wait staff, one in particular, was extremely rude. Many Portland restaurants have rules of ordering before sitting or waiting for all party members before being seated. That’s no big deal. At Pine State this is communicated with a fake smile, rude tone and tennor. Never have I been treated so poorly at a restaurant before. Even after apologizing for the initally negative intereaction, our party was aksed by this wait staff to leave. Again, with the disrespectful tone, tennor, and smile. Get rid of this woman and I’d recommend this place to eveyone, but poor customer serives doesn’t make for a likely return.

I agree with Steve P. I’m not an easily impressed 20 year old so take that into consideration. Biscuits were rather tasteless and chicken was dry.

We went to Pine State Biscuit stand at the Saturday Farmer’s Market for breakfast before we left Portland. We got the Reggie Deluxe and it was delicious! The line looks long but it moves fairly quickly so I would definitely recommend it. It is cash-only though, and we didn’t find out about it until we got through the line, so just plan ahead and have cash on-hand.

A girl that just moved to Oregon from North Carolina — the place made me feel like home. When we first arrived I was a little discouraged by the long line but There homemade biscuits are definitely worth the wait. We split the Reggie and the shrimp And grits and it was absolutely delicious. We will be back !

We visited the Portland Farmers Market at PSU and stumbled upon the food stand of Pine State and I don’t know if it was because we were served outside but it wasn’t as amazing as I expected it to be. The gravy was good but the biscuits weren’t something to write home about.

I’d give this place a 3.5. The line was super long but moved at a decent pace. My friends and I had lots of meals to pack in during our weekend getaway in PDX so the three of us split a Reggie Deluxe. In the end, I liked the gravy best. Next the chicken. And could’ve passed on the biscuit. The biscuit was fine but not so memorable. Tasty? Yes. More of a try-at-least-once kind of eats if you’re in the area. or I’m thinking the brick & mortar stores can better serve up hot piping chicken & biscuits that might make good food, great food.

ITINERARY: SATURDAYAFTERNOON at the PORTLANDFARMERSMARKET at PSU We didn’t have time to make it to the actual restaurant since my list of foods to try was so long but we luckily found the food stand at the PSU Farmers Market, which by the way, is amazing. The stand looked pretty legit and had a crowd of people so we figure we would give it a shot. The biscuits were pretty delish. I am not a biscuit fan… but that apple butter and jam were yum yum on point! Also, we had the reggie deluxe which is basically biscuit with fried chicken with gravy and an egg and sausage. Yupp. That was amazing as well, and I am not a fried chicken or sausage fan. I wanted to lick the gravy off the bowl but it’s probably not something I would want to eat every day. Swing by, totally worth it!

I had the Reggie Deluxe! It was amazing:). Fried chicken in the middle of a biscuit that is topped with cheese, egg and gravy. Definitely a foodgasm!!! I highly recommend this place.

I ordered the Reggie from Pine State – which is essentially bacon, fried chicken, cheese and gravy on a biscuit. Was amazing. Would definitely return.

With regard to biscuit… Over rated. Tasteless and waste of calories. I will give them a couple stars for creativity… But not impressed with their signature item. Eh…

I really do love this place usually, and I was really excited to bring my boyfriend here for the first time on his birthday today. Unfortunately, we waited in a super duper long line, looking at the board style menu the entire time deciding on what we were going to have, just to get to the front of the line and they were out of the mushroom gravy! One of the most important ingredients on the menu! The girl was extremely rude to us and basically just told us to get over it. We nicely asked if she could put a sign up for other customers letting them know that no more mushroom gravy left? She then started getting ultra sassy. We decided to still order our legendary CheerWine which was yummy though. Ultimately, girl was a bitch.

Saturday morning at the Farmer’s Market –Located close to the library The biscuit is to die for, probably one of the best biscuit I ever had. Don’t come too late or else everything will be sold out: like the Reggie chicken biscuit with gravy was all sold out! The sausage biscuit was amazing. The sausage was a good size patty which was delicious with a buttery biscuit. I kept wanting to eat more eventhough i was completely full!

I have never had a better biscuit. Their gravies are the BOMB! My two daughters not big eaters chewed down like a couple Maine piners. Or as a southern Belle biscuits and gravy eater. Really good stuff.

I am going to recommend one dish and one dish only! BISCUITANDGRAVY. The other items are good but nothing beats the soft biscuit soaked in their signature gravy. There is something about the gravy they make, perhaps its the little bits of sausage that gives it great texture, but I think its the perfect balance of sweet cream and savoriness without the heavy butter. The REGGIE has potential, but I think the fried chicken is too try and there is simply not enough gravy on it. I like that they use the Tillamook cheedar cheese, but the overall flavor didn’t really come together for me. You would think it would, but I think there was something lacking. Maybe it needs something sweet.

I don’t expect to have more children, but in the off chance I have a son, I’m giving great consideration to naming him Reggie Deluxe Rosenthal. This biscuit sandwich may very well be the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth! My taste buds thank you, Pine State!

Best biscuit I’ve had so far INMYLIFE. Yes, that’s saying something. Husband was snoozing away in bed on our visit to Portland so I decided to take a walk. Caught the Pine State Biscuit stand at the Portland Farmer’s Market luckily on the Saturday morning of our trip. The line looked daunting but I always know if there’s there’s a line — it’s gotta be at least good, right? Browsing the menu, everything looked tempting, but decided on the Reggie — fried chicken with gravy on a biscuit — and a bacon egg cheese biscuit, with a freshly squeezed Oregon apple juice to sip on while waiting. Maybe I’m used to LA prices for everything, and I was on vacation, but I didn’t feel like it was super expensive. Cash only, thankfully had some in my wallet. Received a number and watched the biscuit experts whip up other customers’ breakfasts. Ended up having a shorter wait than I thought, these folks have their system down pat! It took every bit of willpower not to tear open the takeaway package, but it looked a bit messy to sneak a bite, so hoofed it back to the hotel. Shook my husband awake after bringing this bounty back. First bite of the«Reggie» biscuit and it was FULL of flavor, great execution on every aspect of the bite. Biscuit held up to the super rich gravy, a great taste and texture. Still tasty even though it had hung out in the takeout box for 15 minutes during the walk. The egg, bacon and cheese biscuit was also very tasty — the cheese was no imitation cheese but real sliced cheddar! However, in the end, the Reggie definitely took the cake. I will crave these biscuits on hungry mornings… wish these guys were in LA!

Pretty good mix of ingredients for a biscuit sandwich but it left me wanting. The best part of the special sandwich was the fried chicken. Gravy was peppery and savory but I suggest getting it on the side.

Saturday morning at Portland Farmer’s Market is a complete experience when you’ve got a hot biscuit in your hand. The line is long but don’t fret — it moves pretty quick and it’s worth it. With all the biscuit makin’ going on, I thought it would take a long time to receive my food. I was pleasantly surprised to get my biscuit fairly quickly and even had time to snag a spot on a park bench. I ordered the Reggie(fried chicken, bacon, cheese, and gravy) for $ 8. I personally think the biscuit is worth more but hey, who am I to decide the price point? The biscuit was warm and clearly well-crafted. The outside was sturdy and the inside was soft and buttery. The chicken and gravy were well-seasoned. I often receive bland fried chicken with other biscuits topped with bland gravy but not the case here! The quality of the chicken was evident — hearty, juicy, and flavorful. The sausage gravy was expertly prepared at just the right consistency. Bacon and cheese? Well… because bacon! Yes, I know it makes no sense but neither does my love for that smoky strip. I tasted each ingredient standing alone and they were good. Together, they were completely in sync with each other. Each bite was more perfect than the last. I’m a fan!
