Portland Escape Rooms

We did the Zombie Escape Room tonight, and it was great fun. One of the best escape rooms we have done.
If you do the Zombie room, bring shoes you can move in.

A very enjoyable time. Was a quick experience but I did this as an after work event with some colleague/​friends so this was perfect. We needed a couple of hints to get it all sorted out but we enjoyed the puzzles. Communication with the staff just before the event could’ve been better but aside from some coordination issues (we ended up telling someone they couldn’t go since we couldn’t confirm with the staff beforehand), but the event worked out once we were all there.

Fun for the family! ! Great time to work together and experience something different together. We loved it.
We would love to go back but it is a bit spendy for the whole family to go multiple times. Adds up fast.

I did the Arcade room with some coworkers, and this was a great escape room experience! The puzzles were challenging in a fun way, and we only ended up needing a couple of small hints to get out.
My only complaint is the fact that one of the puzzles was physically possible to mess up on, and if you do that, it would be impossible to complete the room at that point. I feel like that sort of puzzle shouldn’t exist as you could easily make the mistake accidentally.
We scheduled a room during a non-​standard time via their help e-​mail, and their team was a pleasure to work with. It was pretty easy to find the room, and they had a nice waiting area for us to sit at while waiting for the rest of our group to arrive.

Can’t even get anyone to call us back! Tried multiple times to book… My friend and I both called, we even went on the day of our event to see if we could get in without a reservation. The doors were locked and no one answered when we knocked. I don’t know how or when they got these great reviews but it certainly wasn’t what we experienced.

This is such a fun out of the box thing to do.
I did my second escape room in PDX with Portland Escape Rooms and LOVED it. I did the serial killer room with only my mom. We could have used more man power as it was quite a challenge. The room was for 2 – 6, so at least double the challenge.
We didn’t escape in the 60 minute time slot — but we laughed and screamed and triumphed through a good chunk. Without giving anything away, I definitely recommend this adventure to anyone! It’s worth the cost for sure.
Only negative thing about escape rooms is that you can’t talk about it with friends in detail, and you can’t do the same room twice! (if you are a fair person, at least).

Super fun activity to do with family or friends. Took the teenagers to do the kidnapped room and they had a lot of fun. It’s hard to find activities the kids enjoy as a family and this was perfect! We’ll be back to try the other rooms.

Trapped In A Room With A Zombie!
We booked the whole room because we had a group of 8 girls ranging in ages from 12 — 19 with the 15 year old birthday girl. They all had an absolutely terrific time! I cannot thank your employees enough for being so patient and kind to our very talkative, energetic girls. I feel that the zombie accommodated the age group really well. We are already planning on doing the Revolution Room for an adult night and the older girls are asking to comeback and do the Kidnapped Room. We will definitely be back for more fun! Thanks for the incredible time!!!
As far as pricing goes, it was on the very high side for a birthday party for the Portland area. I say this because for the price, you only get the event. We did the other portions of the birthday party at home. This was such a unique experience though, that we decided to save money elsewhere and splurge here. It was, in the end, well worth the money spent!!!

So much fun! We almost made it out, but got stuck on the last puzzle as the timer was ticking down. Cant wait to try some of the other rooms

I absolutely loved this adventure!
I bought a groupon and 5 of my friends and I escaped from the serial killer room: 58:21 minutes!
Be sure to show up 15 minutes early to sign the waivers and have the staff tell you the rules. You’ll also want to wear light layers as the tight space, many bodies, and high stress level get you real warm real fast :)
I won’t give away any secrets, obviously, but I was definitely appreciative of the level of challenge and the number of challenges. You’d benefit from having a full 6 people there.
The only major drawback I could see was that the staff member who is inside the room with you (for safety and ultimately clue purposes) started to «put the room back together» before we were even done with our hour. What I mean is that he was re-​locking locks, re-​hiding clues, re-​hanging items… to the point where we couldn’t keep track if it was something that we’d already figured out or not! I’d perhaps allow a bit more layover time between groups so that this can be done afterwards because it was counter productive and distracting.
Other than that, the staff were friendly, funny, and smiling. The room was well done and clean and hidden a bit in the floor below the state farm insurance.
Pro tip: if you go on a Sunday, the bar across the street (Coach’s) has $ 3 mimosas and bloody mary’s all day until 4pm; followed by all-​you-​can-​eat pasta dinner for $ 6 starting at 4pm.

Our group of 4 was paired with another group of 4 which was worrisome at first, but you soon find out that in the room everyone is your friend, except the zombie doctor trying to infect you! I thought maybe the room would have been kind of lame, but I was so wrong. It was FANTASTIC! Challenging. Fun. Interactive. We plan on going to the other 3 rooms soon! The two ladies in our room were fantastic and made the experience that much better! A must do!

This is a fantastic group activity. Like many other’s have said before, I did this with my co-​workers as a team builder and it was super fun! I am fairly new to my company so this was a fantastic opportunity to get to know each other. Being locked in a room can really bring people together. Ha!
Highly recommend! I want to try another room with friends, I had such a good time.

After trying an escape room elsewhere in Portland I was immediately hooked. I arranged for a group of six to try the «Kidnapped» room. Some people in my group were new to escape rooms, and I don’t think they will try another one after this.
I think the concept for this room is neat, but the puzzles (with a few exceptions) are poorly designed. There were a few puzzles that were simply purchased and added to the room. Without giving spoilers, it was equivalent to making participants solve a standard rubix cube to advance. The final puzzle was not intuitive and left our group feeling deflated.
Another bummer is that a moderator sits in the room with you. I understand the justification for this, but we received too many unsolicited hints and a few immersion destroying comments from her.
There are other, better escape rooms in the Portland area. You’re best off avoiding this one.

Holy f*ck. This is so cool.
I did the American Revolution room with co-​workers as well, and most of them had done another room previously (note: they’ll open just for your group outside of normal hours if you call and make arrangements). They all knew what they were doing, so it wasn’t explained, and it took me awhile to realize what was happening, what I needed to do, and how to get out. The goal is to find the key that unlocks the door of the room within 1 hour, but you aren’t going to find the key just laying around. You have to solve puzzles to unlock more clues and puzzles that eventually leads you to your prize. The puzzles were harder than I expected, and when you’re working with a large group, it’s super important to communicate with and keep moving forward!
We finished with about 4 minutes to spare. When the moderator told us the completion rate, we were super proud of ourselves.
It may be challenging, but it’s so unique and it’s so much fun. I can’t wait to do the kidnapped and zombie rooms! In case you need reminding, it’s posted at the entrance: no manipulating items with your mouth :)

This was an absolute blast.
I did this with my boyfriend, and we were paired up with one other couple for the Kidnapped! room. The more people you have, I can see the easier it is as there are multiple puzzles to get going at once. Teamwork is the dreamwork! We only had one other couple with us (4 of us total) and we certainly will make this something we want to do again in all of the other themes of rooms.
Highly recommend for team building, date night, or just an exciting thrill.

Good concept, but I was with a group of 12 people for the American Revolution escape — there should only be 6 people, maximum. There were too many people standing around without a puzzle to work on, not to mention it was physically crowded. With so many people it’s also really difficult to know which puzzles have been solved and what needs to be solved next.
Unless you can be sure you’ll have a small group, it’s not worth it.

Went with my co-​workers (10 of us) as a team building exercise. We tried the American Revolution room & had a fantastic time, even if we were executed at dawn for treason against the crown.
The puzzles were challenging & even though many teams have succeeded in escaping this room, we would have probably been executed even if we’d had another hour. And even after having the puzzles explained to us afterward, I still don’t get a couple of them. I can’t imagine doing this one with a smaller group. We had resources of 10 of us yet still failed.
But we had fun!

Since I heard of the Escape Room event, I’ve been wanting to give it a go and it did not disappoint! I went yesterday to the Kidnapped! scenario with 5 friends where we have an hour to escape a serial killer who will do «unspeakable things» to us if we don’t get out. I don’t want to say too much to give away any of the fun but what a great time we had! One tip is to follow all the rules and then maybe, just maybe, the facilitator will take pity on your and give you a hint if you’re really stuck. Don’t overthink things and solve one puzzle at a time. For those who are not thrilled to be in a kidnapped scenario, there’s also the American Revolution puzzle that takes groups of 12.
This was an amazingly fun teamwork activity: go do it and best of luck!

I wanted a cool activity for the family and this was it. We did the Kidnapped room which starts out in the dark and in handcuffs. There can be a total of 6 people so we had our family of 4 with a father & daughter couple. Everyone has to work together to find the key that opens the front door. You have 60 mins. I don’t want to give anymore away but this was such an amazing experience! Total adrenaline rush. An hour just flew by. We were down to 4 mins and solved the finally puzzle. We were told we were in the 25% that escaped. If you don’t escape you get to bloody the door (dip your hand in red paint & smear it on the back door) which is pretty cool too.
Arrive 15 mins early to sign waivers, don’t bring electronics, no gum/​food, don’t take push pins off the wall or touch items that say Don’t Touch (duh) and don’t lick anything (gross).
I highly recommend this place for kids 12+ (maybe 10+ if you’re kids are on the mature side) and adults.

This is some of the most fun I’ve had in a long time and I already want to go back and check out their second room.
I did the kidnapping escape, and will not spoil anything for you. I will say that it’s definitely a lot of fun with six people, it was myself and my date and two other couples we did not know. We became fast friends while trying to escape the room. Don’t forget to communicate while you’re in there!
It’s an absolute blast, the folks who run it are fantastic and provide the occasional small hint if you’re really struggling. Check out Portland Escape Rooms! It’s an experience unlike any other and well worth your time. I highly recommend giving this a shot!
